Shaking my damn head. Let me guess…another 20 years? Let me guess…another 20 years. Fight nature and lose. Someone needs to look at the photoelectric effect and harness GAMMA photons. Look at the electromagnetic spectrum chart. I’m just a nobody and I understand this is going nowhere and has been for 40 years.

Well its like UTube subtitle under the video window….”show more”….ie Show me more progress….you know when you get only a few seconds of “fusing” the using the supposedly future correct fuel (whatever that means)….I see your making progress, but its not even baby steps….we are still crawling.
Gricycle
February 20, 2022 at 4:50 pm
Nice, but when we are allowed to generate 0 Point energy from the grid, the very long emergence of fusion (not on the sun) may be an afterthought. The Air Force probably already has prototypes of this but they are above top secret…
fmorgan98
February 20, 2022 at 4:52 pm
She seems to also have an agenda of stating what the fusion of the future fuel will be. Thats at least 50% of her message, why is it so important to state over and over again what the “future fusion fuel” will be….to the majority of the viewers…and I mean vast majority…its of minor/inconsequential importance.

We are going to have 2 more experimentals, and one more demonstration before we even start using fustion on the grid? That’s another 30 years. I’m begining to believe that all these researchers are really milking the governments for all its worth…to retire with a nice academic or government pension is the real object…I remember a scientist I once met, he said” What’s a Scientist”…thats a guy working on his next paper. They should put the engineers on this…not the “pie in the sky” theory guys. In other words its time (for many obvious reasons) to “put up, or shut up”.

The problem with fusion is to keep it controlled and stable for any time we want . We already can generate huge amount of fusion energy in hydrogen bomb that is much greater than in that device. We can not control it.
Pugsley LoveJoy
February 20, 2022 at 9:50 pm
Fusion created from heat, is a lie and a deception. LENR is the ONLY true fusion that actually produces more energy, than it consumes to power the device.

LENR is the only real fusion energy method. Heat is the opposite of what is needed for fusion. The heat of fusion IS the energy product, not the source of fusion. Hot plasma will never produce fusion. LENR has been attempted to be buried by big budget greed, in order to favor centralized power ownership and control. Chasing this oligarchic central power fantasy on promises of scientists claiming “it will work, it just needs to be bigger” and “our equations prove it will”, all the whole buying 5 decades of time and failure to produce even a single volt of power greater than what is required to waste massive amounts of expensive energy as waste heat that was never reclaimed is an example of a poker face bluff. LENR cannot be scaled to a central power supply because God designed it to be available for every home to produce it’s own power and security of energy. Every person’s home is their sovereign castle and must be respected as we are all divine in nature. Greedy oligarchs are drunk on power and control. Sovereign people are sheep to them. Meanwhile, people freeze to death during centralized power outages. The central fusion distribution idea greed continues. But, LENR is the real way to secure home based energy production and secure people’s lives.

How the energy is collected from that reactor?
Heats up its walls and center pillar from which heat is collected ?
mohare134
February 21, 2022 at 2:21 am
Yes. Similar to a fission power plant, cooling water will be passed through the system, which in-turn will become steam when heated and spin turbines…in the early days of fusion, I always thought somehow we would receive power directly from the fusion reaction, but nope, we’re still reliant on mechanical power (work) to provide the usable electricity…in the end, we’re always trying to make heat…coal, natural gas, fission, -fusion (maybe). When you think about it, is solar really the only means of non-mechanical power production?? Sorry for rambling on your post 😉

When I started my professional engineer career I was in JET design team building the JET infrastructure. Now I am retired. All the records breaking sound pretty hollow to me. The most important bit is how much energy has been put in to get out what has been claimed. So far we put in more energy than what we get out of it!

We have a working fusion reactor off-planet. It’s called the Sun and today we harvest it’s bounty via hydro, wind and solar. All that fusion research would be better put to finding grid scale storage of renewable energy for the herd and now, not some never-never—land always 30 years in the future. Wake-up people and smell the coffee.
