  25. Daymickey

    January 22, 2022 at 2:06 pm

Dr. Chen (the woman in this video) performed my egg retrieval surgery. She didn’t look at my charts before hand. 😒 She ended up poking two endometriomas and my blood pressure spiked and it didn’t go down for months. She didn’t tell me this happened – I had to ask my clinic why they were prescribing an additional antibiotic. I did get 23 eggs so that’s good, but I didn’t love her style.

0:29 the sperm that still stick around for days on end are likely to be x sperm so will lead to a baby girl being born. Those couples trying to conceive a boy should time their intercourse on the exact day of ovulation or latest one day after. According to science.

Is there anything in our body that covid19 doesn’t affect

    • Cat C

      January 22, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Probably nothing. The darned thing attacks lining (epithelial) cells, which are pretty much present everywhere in the body. That’s how it can screw up lungs, blood vessels, kidneys, guts, reproductive system, you name it.

    January 22, 2022 at 8:54 pm

I can’t imagine how horrendous it’d be if 2 embryos were implanted, and one or more splits, and then repeatedly. Because I think you have a higher rate too to have all kinds of twinning situations with IVF: multiple fraternal, one or more sets of a identical. Imagine if that happened twice over. YIKES.

    January 22, 2022 at 11:33 pm

Surrogacy shouldn’t be taken lightly. Yes, you’re compensated, but, it’s a lot and it’s risky. You really should only consider it if you’re done having your own kids, because you could be left infertile. And the US has a bad maternal mortality rate for a first world country, so take that into account if you’re here. Additionally, there are requirements – like a history of healthy pregnancies, that you’ve raised a child, have a hearth BMI, etc. All that said, and while I know some who’ve had bad experiences as gestational carriers, it’s one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done.

I interned at an infertility clinic and saw most of the processes. It is really an exhaustive and emotional experience for the couple. But when they get positive reports and conceive healthy child, they come back to thank everyone. And I got to learn so much about fertility.
The video is so great and the doctor explains everything in a simple informative way!!!!!

I hate that pregnancies over the age of 35 are considered geriatric. I had my 3rd child when I was 39 and my fourth child when I was 42 they are both super healthy no abnormalities. I actually enjoyed my pregnancy more as an experienced, older mom than I did when I had my first two when I was younger.

  78. Kashatnic K

    January 24, 2022 at 9:59 am

It is elective and expensive because it should not be encouraged as it selects against fitness, and will only create more need. Artificial selection is crude and is not the same, and for the most fundamental evolutionary aspect where if you do not pass go it is the end.

  79. Sena Su Odabaş

    January 24, 2022 at 10:53 am

IVF costs 200$ in Turkey beacuse of the exchange rate. Since money is defined as units it actually costs around 2500 turkish liras and it only looks like so little money beacuse of the exchange rate. But still It’s cheapher here because goverment pays for it up to 3 tries for you. I hope it will be free everywhere in the world or way more cheapher. Having kids should not be a matter of you have money or not..

Do women who freeze their eggs stop having their periods??

  81. Abel Lewis

    January 24, 2022 at 12:17 pm

I know men who had a baby in their 50s. So a biological clock for a man is not the same for a woman.

    • Katrina

      January 24, 2022 at 7:13 pm

@Abel Lewis “The quality of the sperm men produce seems to decline as they get older. Most men make millions of new sperm every day, but men older than 40 have fewer healthy sperm than younger men.”

    • Abel Lewis

      January 24, 2022 at 7:30 pm

@Katrina It’s hard for women 40 and up to have kids. That’s a fact.

    • Abel Lewis

      January 24, 2022 at 7:34 pm

@Katrina And I still know men who had a baby in their 50s. Again, every man is different.

    • Katrina

      January 24, 2022 at 8:13 pm

@Abel Lewis Obviously. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Much like how it’s more common for men over 40’s sperm to cause birth defects.

    • Abel Lewis

      January 24, 2022 at 8:32 pm

@Katrina Women over 40 have a greater risk having a baby. Anyway, I’m done with this conversation.

The modern life of today has unfortunately tamed all of us in getting fragile, docile guys that can’t get a good one, but we can all say thanks to go’ogle. Anyone can easily forget about experiencing ED, if you minimize a few things, Mario Volpstein suggests in his homepagw.

It’s so sad to hear about the priče of artificial insemination. In my country it’s a basic human right, it’s law to help couples have children. You know… As long as you have health insurance… Which isn’t that costly, around 500$ a year.

I hope they do a second video with her. A lot of the women in my family go through menopause extremely early. I have an Aunt that went through it at 35. My mom went thrit at 40. I’m scared that I will end going through it before I even get the chance to have a baby.

I’m a fertility expert as well. My expert opinion, the world is overpopulated, stop having kids it’s selfish. Plus your kids are going to end up as either soulless apathetic money mongers, or overdose on fentanyl by 25. Welcome to 2022 🙂

ok, I can understand wanting biological kids, but personally, if I end up not being able to conceive I’m probably going adoption (defiantly after seeing the cervix tube syringe), I mean why make more humans on an overpopulated planet? especially when there are so many kids who need parents.

This was most informative but I feel like on the Reciprocal IVF question she just gave the definition when they were asking for tips. It being the second time around suggests the person asking already knew what it was but maybe had a hard or unsuccessful first go-round so was looking for tips for a more desirable outcome.

Have women cycles always been the same? I mean, neanderthal women had cramps and irregular periods as bad as ours now?

  128. Firlow

    January 26, 2022 at 10:21 pm

Ok, but having a child with schizophrenia or autism isn’t the same thing as simply not being able to concieve at all, like it is for women. Sure, it’s a fertility clock of sorts, but it’s only for a different quality of life for the child – something that can be supported or helped – instead of no chance of children whatsoever.

Notice how when she answered the covid and vaccine question she started spinning her ring on her finger but she never did that for any other answers. Lets not brainwash people into thinking the vaccine is safe for everyone. Yes people fan get pregnant with it but it might be fatal for some in terms of their own biology. I would respect her more if she said that everybody needs to do tests for their own body to know at least by a degree what can happen to you.
I feel like this entire video was literally made for her to promote the vaccine- especially now that people have more time to reproduce and have babies. Don’t trust everything you hear. Question it always🥰

I believe in reproductive rights, including the right to make the choice to have a child. However, the choice to not have a child or to not have one ever should also be respected by companies. Companies have an obligation to include birthcontrol, surgery, etc. in their insurance coverage if they also are covering reproduction services.

Her answers aren’t necessarily true. When it comes to covid, we don’t know the long term affects of the vaccine (not an anti-vaxxer) by any means. The reality is there is no long term data on the effects of fertility and birth defects. They probably are safe but we won’t have more data for another 10-15 years down the road.

Ok what are the pros and cons of being vaccinated for a woman who is pregnant or planning to be pregnant ? Seriously.
And let’s not base it of a couple months of study.

So Is OBESITY , being on drugs, consuming alcohol, not eating properly,
Stress, mental health all have a negative impact on pregnancy.

    COVID 19 ? cold like symptoms. .

  213. Bwonders

    January 30, 2022 at 5:38 am

Is there any possibility that the reason sperm count in men is half of what it was in the 1900’s is because the population that is being sampled for fertility purposes are more likely possibly older men? Since people tend to want children later in life, they might not test their fertility until further along in life?
Also, I am curious to know if women have less viable eggs today, or if women are being born with less eggs now.

I appreciate that we have more women stepping up to help people with fertility and debunking myths. Health used to be a “man’s job,” and fertility was a “woman’s problem.” But I love this balance. i personally do not support the vaccine. Its not because of who is in office at this time, i just dont take any vaccines at all. i just dont trust them, even if proven safe. i guess its just a personal thing. lol. i do support ppl who get the vaccine, i just dont want it myself.

Risk of autism? My parent were in their 20s when I was born and I’m autistic. It’s not a bad thing to be autistic! The issue is with society’s perception and treatment of us autistic people.

    • h3xex

      February 14, 2022 at 11:28 pm

It is a “risk” because it’s not a trait someone would normally have but everyone is unique and special whatever condition we may have

Seems like everyone forgot about the fact that the USD has different exchange rates throughout the world. A 200USD IVF round is still extremely expensive for a Turkish person, the same thing goes for all the other countries.

    • Cáca Milis

      February 15, 2022 at 5:11 pm

200 USD is not expensive at all for an average Turkish person. 2000 USD is significant, but not that high for most Turkish people. Do you have this idea in your head that Turkey is a poverty-stricken hellhole or something?

I like her. Dr. Chen just screams “professionalism.” She explains things in a way that’s easy to understand, while not looking down on people. It’s very refreshing. Especially, in regards to the general care specialists I’ve visited.

She shares some helpful information. Ok, I’m listening… She breaks into a political message that she has ZERO scientific proof, and not one organization: manufacturers, scientists, doctors… No one will take on the liability if the claims are wrong. They have had total legal indemnity since 1986, so they can claim whatever they want on the topic without any accountability….

And I am done. Your credibility is now gone.
