@Manuel Barsallo We DO know, but some people just curious what would really happen in those scenarios.
That’s why movies usually doesn’t follow reality.
      To be entertaining. 😉

You realize that if movies were to go about being more realistic… IT WOULD BE CONTAGION! They did it, it wasn’t five hours long and it was GREAT.
That movie helped me decide my career lmao.

      should have showed him “containment”

    • Goldtooth's Lair

      October 28, 2019 at 10:14 pm

So if this man’s correct then that means and need zombie-like play that comes our direction will need to at least take up to a day to infect people means the undead won’t just immediately rise up as soon as they die that’s a little interesting

    • Mick Reilly

      October 29, 2019 at 2:27 pm

For some reason he never really addressed a point he kept making. That you don’t get locked up like in the movies. Well what would he do with zombies? Put them in a tent? I am sure they would have some kind of restraints, but okay what if you have like 50 restraints and 100 patients who are all infected with some horrible virus that makes your violent? He wants me to believe that the government, or the CDC would not participate in caging and separating people if the consequences of the virus was violent zombie attacks? Even if it was not an infectious disease but some kind of chemical attack that created the zombies. They absolutely would segregate and imprison the infected for the protection of themselves or others.

That is my only gripe with him though, otherwise he was funny, and clearly knowledgeable. I think he just wants it clear that they are not bad guys, so people trust them. Which is obviously for the best, but acting like “No no, we will always be gentle and explain things. we will COAX people into isolation” Uhuh, sure. some dude with ebola is gonna be able to leave the hospital once you have found it. Not.

    • Goldtooth's Lair

      October 29, 2019 at 2:33 pm

@Mick Reilly I think what he was trying to say is people that are expected to be infected will be treated decently while those that are infected we’ll be the ones that get put into like the quarantine areas and so forth because he does have a point if they just start grabbing people out of the crowd and just pulling them away and then locking them up and taking them down everything that’s just going to cause panic and Mayhem and then the whole facility can get compromised by Angry Riot people because they’re being treated poorly. With these types of things you wants to keep people calm and just aggressively pulling people out of a crowd or tying them up or thrown them in cages is not a good way on keeping people calm

I like that kind of videos because it breaks down beliefs that are really implanted in our head because of Hollywood. Like, why would use use glass countainers? That’s finally just plain logic, but it’s really rare that we see that in the hollywood movies. Or why would we stop to treat people infected like humans? like if we were to not speak to the people and put them in jails. This expert gives us confidence in our researchers and forces against pandemic. I hope the the people who tends to believe in conspiracy theories regarding our scientist and their knowledge, or the doomsday preppers of this world who do not beleive that the humans will help each other in a case catastrophe, I hope that these people will watch these videos that can help them deal with the fear that they constently have.

I dislike this arrogant CDC guy especially when he berates the ET scenes of washing before entering a infection zone, hello asshat it’s a 1980’s movie so the film crew had little to limited access to knowledge about the CDC procedures of containing a virus or hazardous entity during that time period and I guaranteed the CDC didn’t have the upgraded contaminant practices they have now back then!!! And in regards to comparing a zombie virus not infecting humans like actually known viruses is pure idiocy because a zombie virus isn’t a true phenomenon and it’s a bloody fictional movie!!! Get off you high-horse you douche.

The one thing that struck me with the robotic case loading in Resident Evil is:

There’s a tool that looks like something you’d hold in your hand in that case. What’s the point of loading the case robotically if you then have to proceed and handle things manually anyways? On the flip side: What’s the point of having the case when you can’t open it and use its contents since it’s so dangerous you can’t manipulate it in any other way but through a robot?

Seems like the aggressive and forced isolation would become more and more commonplace as the outbreak gradually became more severe. Sure, they don’t force people the vast majority of the time, but imagine if a pandemic was killing everyone – I bet they’d stop “coaxing” and/or asking nicely.
