From helping build smart cities to supporting the sustainable energy sector, the possibilities of big data are endless. But many companies are still wary of sharing data that could expose them to risk and diminish their competitive advantage. What if uniting towards a common goal could help them overcome these fears? Data cooperation expert Massimo Russo shares three ways to jump-start a virtuous cycle of data sharing — and how it can lead to better climate change solutions.

Can you please make a video how me going to sleep and then waking up is causing the climate change and I have to buy eco, bio, vegan pills or some yoga to prevent this?

Collaboration on a better future doesn’t sound like a nightmare to me. Human’s are meant to be a team we’re meant to be able to count on eachother- when did it become common practice to dismiss great innovative change for wealth or status growth. This thought pattern will drive a wedge even deeper between the people who care about this planet and those who only care about the next 50-70 years they’ll be alive.

stop forcing people to commute if their job can be done from home. reduce demand for energy! no more forced commutes! give people the power to say no! no more evictions from primary residences!

A great perspective on such a critical topic. These objectives are much easier said than done but each of us in our day to day lives have a say- talk to your boss, your partner even your peers. Small things like switching to a job that funds WFH instead of a daily commute, switching household appliances to be better energy rated, car pooling with friends to catch up rather than all taking separate modes of transport. It’s small but it makes a difference- then after that making changes within the company you work for is where the real fun starts, get a green group started and whole office clean up volunteer day proposed, look into more sustainable suppliers/ ect. We got this even if we don’t see the massive change needed in our lifetime as least we’ve made somewhat of a difference than saying the problem is bigger than me so I can’t do anything. Xx

Dystopian centrally planned nightmare is not where I want to live, especially as a response to a phantom climate crisis. Fighting climate change? When has one of the dire predictions of these power hungry planners, schemers, and scammers come close to coming true? We have more important things to occupy our time!

Data is incredibly important to understand how to tackle any challenge. However I have to argue, the main thing affecting the climate is big oil, gas and coal. Individual choice had it’s place, but these evil companies are literally poisoning our planet for profit. Again, data is great, but we already know who the culprit is. Immense pressure is needed by the public to topple their empire, and the younger generations are bearing that burden. We can change the climate in a generation, and we will fight the good fight.

The nerve of this man! He makes it sound like average people are the big CO2 producers. We all know its the big companies that cause the most. We should be making laws to hold them legally accountable, not making “lifestyle” changes.

Saying that lifestyle is the source of emissions is putting the cart before the horse. Change the way the big companies do business and you’ll change the way people live. Companies are the ones setting the standard, not the consumer.
