@doppelkammertoaster edited my comment–i was using it as a connecting point to the puritans, I know how the crusades went on. And idk maybe u gotta up ur standards for human decency, as she’s tryna explain how much more of what we treat as nuances can actually be very fundamental to humans, especially in the aftermath of oppressive and unjust systems. Something that our ancestors and ourselves have been subjected to and are still trying to liberate ourselves from. Oppression extends beyond a race, but it’s a very compelling jumping point to examine the dynamics. Allyship all linguistics aside, is also an interpretational thing. So I choose to interpret it as role that calls for connection and solidarity.
