    That’s mostly a director problem

It’s not problem at al. They all did fine

That’s what happens when you don’t take your character seriously 😂

Tom holland as Telemachus was a bad casting choice. Love him as spider man though

    • @ritokazoriv

      August 3, 2026 at 3:16 pm

Gotta disagree, I didn’t see much wrong with his portrayal. What made him a bad cast in your eyes? His casting may have had more to done with his name than him fitting the role perfectly, I can give you that.

    • @abirchatterjee7224

      August 3, 2026 at 4:30 pm

@ritokazoriv No i disagree with you. His portrayal of telemachus was not really up to the mark. It could be the director’s fault that he didn’t know that already.

    • @dosomestuff1949

      I thought he did great.

    Like he said Daddy 😂

  9. @camillemarii

    August 3, 2026 at 5:46 pm

Hitting legal adult age would’ve led to the Esteemed Guests killing him to get him out of the way, makes sense for the character to act younger than he is to survive until his father is back. Seems like Tom played it right.

    • @short.abundance

      August 3, 2026 at 9:52 pm

I mean, they did try to do that
      That did happen

    • @camillemarii

      August 3, 2026 at 11:02 pm

@short.abundance lmao fair yes but inheritance was a factor and they likely would’ve made attempts earlier if they knew his age.

Idk if any of this is true, I haven’t seen the film and it’s been 15 years since I read the Odyssey. I’m just running on memory and giving my man an excuse

    • @short.abundance

      August 3, 2026 at 11:37 pm

@camillemariibut the written odyssey also had Odysseus leave when Telemachus was still an infant which means that after twenty years absence they would know that Telemachus is at least old enough to be king

    • @camillemarii

      August 4, 2026 at 3:09 am

It is simple math but I’m not accounting for the suitors intelligence

    • @dosomestuff1949

      August 4, 2026 at 11:02 am

@camillemariithe suitors wouldn’t necessarily know that Odysseus left when Telemachus was an infant

  13. @68chewy

    August 4, 2026 at 12:42 am

When he first said “I’m looking for my DAD”, I knew the part would fail, and it did. Not his fault, the writer and director for sure.

  14. @superiorgamedude

    August 4, 2026 at 1:06 am

Telemachus does act like a 16 year old, so I’d say it’s a happy accident.

    • @andreagallo1996

Well, Matt is actually a pretty intelligent guy, one of the highest IQs in Hollywood. Perfect choice for Odysseus 😎

Nolan once again proving why he’s not an actors director

  23. @juicebox5883

    August 6, 2026 at 6:28 am

He lacked a father figure all that time so being a bit more naive for his age is completely realistic. Coming into his own in real time after his dad comes back is perfect.

    • @noahlebel-turcotte4662

      August 8, 2026 at 10:27 pm

      Yes.

  24. @HyphyJuice916

    August 6, 2026 at 11:56 am

Tom did fine but he definitely played it like he was younger. It would be hilarious if he really thought he was supposed to be 16 😂

  25. @KarnalSapphire

    August 6, 2026 at 12:20 pm

He had to say ‘dad’ because he can’t say Father without the British accent.

      They hardly sound Greek 😂

  26. @GalLovesYT

    August 6, 2026 at 8:44 pm

I’m amazed he didn’t have the age conversation with Nolan before filming.

    • @craigcox3786

      August 8, 2026 at 1:41 am

      Because Nolan is Hollywood now.

He’s discussing budgets and salaries and back-end.

Even choosing the odyssey is a big cop
out. “We’ll have a big budget and shoot on IMAX!”

Donna Langley and the “vibe-first” studio head mentality is to blame.

Also tom holland sucked in this movie.

    • @Videosarekool3424

      August 8, 2026 at 10:43 am

      @craigcox3786you’re an idiot

    • @eXwhYZIkseez

      August 9, 2026 at 9:41 pm

@craigcox3786 Tom was great, he definitely held his own weight. And Nolan’s been Hollywood for 25 years

  27. @sylvia1001vi

    August 6, 2026 at 9:29 pm

    That is not Tom’s fault.
How come the director did not gave the actors the background story of the characters they are playing? That is weird, i know some directors give their actors like a lot of pages n details about their character down DOB, star sign, how they walk, talk, etc, to help the actors get into their characters fully

  28. @Annaaliyah81

    August 7, 2026 at 5:03 am

My question is still why was he not old enough to take the throne if he was 22..

    • @patrickduval2312

      August 8, 2026 at 7:22 pm

The same reason she was procrastinating with a suitor, because they believed Odysseus was still alive.

  29. @jayjayDrm

    August 7, 2026 at 1:27 pm

that actually was obe of the few flaws in the film. in some flashbacks actors didn’t look that younger, which was hard to follow.

  30. @josiegrosie4025

    August 7, 2026 at 7:25 pm

    No one read the book??

  31. @brucemicallefeynaud1656

    August 8, 2026 at 5:50 am

So why couldn’t he be king?

  32. @Niceone1998

    August 8, 2026 at 6:21 am

I bet you 100 bucks, that was Nolan gaslighting lol.

He always says everything has to serve a purpose. I think the gravitas of Odysseus’s return, would not have felt as satisfying, if Tom had carried a 22 year olds persona. Gen Z these days are a lot more comfortable in themselves, compared to that traditional hierarchy of the Bronze Age, which us as viewers would have projected and felt weird about he’s inabilities. It’s always so much more heartbreaking when you watch kids meet their parents after a long stint being abroad.

Nolan will always push he’s own narrative (specifically epics), if it means he’s making a movie more emotionally
succinct to the audiences own, subconscious experiences

  33. @aghoby1220

    August 9, 2026 at 1:11 pm

But if we left the camera rolling

  34. @chellebelle1144

TH appears to have discovered the secret of eternal youth.

  36. @Ryan-by4rw

    August 9, 2026 at 7:56 pm

In Tom’s defense, I can see a 22 year old behaving like a 16 year old if no father figure is around.

  37. @wonhyuk86

    August 9, 2026 at 10:30 pm

That’s Good Will Hunting doing the computation right there 😂❤

  38. @WilliamAndrews0

Tom Holland is the only one after 3000 years to figure out Penelope cheated.

    • @rickys12

      August 12, 2026 at 4:34 pm

Lol in Homers story, she remained faithful for the 20 years so def wasn’t the milkmans baby

    • @WilliamAndrews0

@rickys12 sure, that’s what she wants you to think.
