THANK you for calling out the sexism in the Cleopatra video! Cleopatra was a very shrewd and powerful political leader and not even considered beautiful in her day. Sexist men painted her as a glamorous seductress because it’s the only way they could conceive of a woman being important.

Hey! So I would love to talk about two somewhat wrong details- that you have mentioned, first one being that the library infact didn’t burn down in one huge massive blaze it rlly was more of downfalls of it ( Not being funded etc. ) Second is that the canopic jars WERE IN FACT USED FOR THE PARTS BUT!!! were also most of the time it would be a 50/50 either the jars were empty n just buried with them or it was rlly filled with them n buried with them again ( By bury i mean inside the room )
Edit- FORGOT TO SAY I would love yall to do a co-op with, “The Thought Emporium,” do to the fact that they have had so much good intell into the mummy process and more-

@6:40 This is interesting. The exact same style of divine procession is still practiced today in Tamil Nadu, India. The statue of the deity is taken out of the temple sanctum, placed in a portable shrine, and carried by priests through the streets—either to a river or, in some cases, to visit another deity.

I don’t know if anyone answered this already but the greek the servant spoke to Cleopatra was actual nonsense. Maybe a few words could be made out but I couldn’t make out a single one. Cleopatra however said “ὑπάκουε μοι” which means “Obey me”. While the pronunciation is a bit awkward for the time period Cleopatra lived in and it would be better to say “ὑπακουσον μοι”, it’s perfectly fine Greek.

It’s one thing for AI image generators to fill in the details for things that are not known about the past. What is maddening is when it makes things up about things that ARE known (like how the expert says that we know what Egyptian boats looked like). Why are we supposed to trust this technology, and cede our society and autonomy to it?
@GS_666

It’s so bizarre that these models weren’t trained with this in mind. Wouldn’t the images these models are using tagged? What’s the point of any of this? Great video, but I think Prof. Bestock is probably off base on the whole “we don’t know if kids spent time playing in Egypt because we don’t have direct evidence of it” thing. Play of one sort or another is a universal feature of childhood and development in all primates, so I doubt that humans in Egypt are an exception.

Great an egyptologist ❤
I just want it to be known for the record , when you see a sun 🌞 + 🐍 makes it a double bordered sun . Thats the ancient description for the black sun , Saturn .
( my King of Kings ❤)
Akhenaten stripped all the gods for my god Saturn , he called Aten . I have done the same , but not with just Egyptian gods , but every god worshipped on earth . Destroyed into nothing by me .
Btw Some hieroglyphs are decoded wrong , I did some youtube shorts on it .
Every temple belongs to me , every pyramid on this planet belongs to me . Petroglyphs, ancient carvings, stone age markings = me knowing the origin to every religous symbol on earth, civilizations, every tribe on earth i can decode . Magic only goes thru me, the planets above are in the palm of my hands , i give humans fire like prometheus did , knowing the science of everything ancient . I am going going to over turn everything on earth. I dare anyone challenge me . I have so many trap cards set and waiting for the first one that makes the silly mistake of annoying me , Just to strip everything you know as true away . ( your gods name 🙏🏾)

Egyptologists recently discovered a previously unknown tomb in the Valley of the Kings but the burial was rather unusual. When they removed the lid of the sarcophagus they found a mummy covered in gold foil. X-rays showed that, rather than being embalmed, the mummy had been smothered in hazelnut chocolate encased in thin wafer, then covered in chocolate and nibbled hazelnuts. The Egyptologists were puzzled by this but subsequent deciphering of the hieroglyphs in the tomb showed that the mummy was, in fact, that of Pharaoh Rocher.

12:10 The assumption that the casing of the pyramids were ‘removed’ or torn down was disproven by most Egyptologists. You can literally find the casing intact at the bottom of the pyramids and logically it makes no sense why they would climb so high, spend so much money and manpower to get building material. The leading theory is that outer casing fell due to earthquakes and the debris was used in the construction of the Saladin Citadel.

I love how they always depict buildings as how they look today, just set in the past. Like how the pyramids weren’t yellow and crumbling back then, that’s what they look like 2,000 years later. The ancient Egyptians would be appalled to see how much we think they apparently didn’t care about upkeep of their monuments to their own Gods.

I feel like the idea a farmer in ancient Egypt would have their house taken out by the seasonal flooding to be absurd. Well, I’ve never seen a professor wear the full academic regalia except at special events, usually graduations; but we do wear them when required. I suspect it would be the same for Cleopatra. On a feast day of Isis, I could totally imagine her dressing in out-of-date clothes to identify with the goddess. On most other days, it would be business casual (Greek style).
