    I blame the Rap Music. The ticking of the hihat constantly triggers the brain with instant reactions with a feeling to ACT SUDDENLY. The thud and vibration of the Bass messes with the timing of the Heart and Lungs causing undo stress and Anxieties….

      @Baroness Elsa von Freytag- Loringhoven I absolutely do. As an African American male growing up through public education I thought I needed hip-hop and rap music to help toughen me through school. Not having a father figure around I relayed on that sort of music. This type of music absolutely inspires bad behavior through a person dealing with bullies and bad behavior kids 5 days a week for 8 hours. The great thing about me is I grew from it and not by it.

      OK Doc. There’s bad Rap but dance music has for our entire history been driven by a repetitive rhythmic pulse. That’s thousands of years. There are great records incorporating rap and those which promote violence, misogyny,, homophobia and racism are easy to refuse. Many rappers share Ms. Kidjo’s aspirations for African people and you don’t need to be black to understand that tolerating desperation in our societies is bad for society as a whole.

      I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Jane Donre with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I don’t normally comment on videos, but this word should be included. she is really cool.

    Happiness is a state of mind joy is a state of the soul

    Rap music with evil lyrics is the destroyer of human race. It’s only targeting to child minded individuals. Kids committing crimes then go to jail until they’re adults and coming out with the same child mindset. Now you’re able to reproduce as an adult that evil behavior.

    TED talks used to be the pinnacle of research, technology, innovation, and intellectuality…. Now its womens rights and life advice from “my mother”. Or in this case “Africans have a shortcut to joy” Yes… Because simple people are easily amused. Have simple pleasures. Fine, great. But is this a TED talk? I guess it is, these days.

    • chloe

      December 6, 2022 at 4:54 pm

      You must be fun at parties

    • Captain_Context

      @chloe
      True.

    • Sareaesque

      December 7, 2022 at 12:40 pm

      @Captain_Context it’s called a discussion, and you’re still avoiding answering how re-writing society’s understanding of women’s and girls’ roles within it doesn’t fall under advancing intellectual achievements.

    • Captain_Context

      December 7, 2022 at 3:41 pm

      @Sareaesque
      Where did I do any of those things? Just because I dont wave that flag, doesnt mean Im setting it on fire.

      Now… Back in the day I went to England to get a proper university degree, well… 2 of them… And I used to love TED talks. Because they were the absolute top end of science, intellect, and expertise. They would take people out of their labs and put them on stage and package their latest research into manageable talks for people that werent necessarily in that field. And it was glorious.

      And youre telling me THIS is equal to that? TED has lost its relevancy and become a wokeism-center. As if the world needs more of those. As if women are “held back” and prevented from doing whatever they like. Great. Have fun with that. But its not a TED talk, is it.

      Last time I looked at this, it was a black woman talking about what her mother told her when she was growing up as a black american. So I guess this is where TED went.

    • Sareaesque

      December 7, 2022 at 3:58 pm

      @Captain_Context she starts with an anecdote and then leads into her work helping women and girls in Africa gain an education in a society that taught the people around her she didn’t deserve to speak. If you didn’t get that from the video you weren’t paying attention.

    • Captain_Context

      December 7, 2022 at 5:03 pm

      @Sareaesque
      I didnt make it that far in.

      December 7, 2022 at 5:28 pm

      @Captain_Context then you don’t really have any place to judge the content

    Joy isn’t a state of mind, it’s our essence – which gets obscured by states of mind

    December 6, 2022 at 6:41 pm

    Love this artist so much!!!

    Two things not mentioned here but I think are important:

    Languages. Angelique has lived with multiple languages all her life. I believe that is one of the super powers she has at her disposal.

    Leadership by example. Even if it’s just leading the dancing as she did this year at Glastonbury when the audience were all dazed and hung over and flat footed, she powered across that stage and showed those kids how to move. There’s no preaching in what she does. I think she realises that standing on a soapbox and telling world leaders what to do is a waste of breath. Instead she works with the little people, as she says here, building resistance and resilience.

    Power to her voice and to her body.

    Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people’s cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It’s not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy. The fin-Market;s have underperformed the U.S. economy as fear of inflation hammers the prices of stock;s and bonds. My portfoliio of $250k is down to $192k any recommendation;s to scale up my return;s during this crash will be highly appreciated.

      I agree, my proffit have been quite consistent, regardless of market situation, I got in early 2019 and the constant downtrends and losses discouraged me so I sold off, got back in Dec 2020 this time with guidance from a portfolio-adviser. I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and reached out to her afterwards. long story short, its been two years now and I’ve gained over $85ok following guidance from my inveestment adviser.

    As an investing enthusiast, I often wonder how top-level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. I do have a significant amount of capital that is required to start up but, I have no idea what strategies and direction I need to approach to help me make decent returns

      If you’re in it for the Long haul, treat investing like buying Gas. Buy only the good stuff. Buy regularly despite the price. And know over time it’s sure to go up.

      I agree, before the pandemic got real serious, I used to handle all my investment and I was pretty good at it, fast forward to post-pandemic and my-portfolio is steady in the red with profit rate down to the lowest, that’s when I touched-base with a coach I saw featured on businessweek, who restructured my portfolio, I’ve made over $920k from initially $316k
