    Most Indians do this anyways

    • Kristine Hansen

      April 10, 2023 at 12:12 pm

I have done this lately but not intentionally. Just meat is expensive and have been eating cheaper in the week. And just realized now That I haven’t eaten meat lately. Just bread, rice, pasta, beans because it’s cheaper.

    • Siddharth S

      April 10, 2023 at 12:15 pm

@Kristine Hansen yes, most Indians do the same either for economic reasons or cultural/religious reasons, or even both.

    • Kristine Hansen

      April 10, 2023 at 12:33 pm

@Siddharth S Food and electricity has gotten so expensive in the last couple years so I think it’s probably getting more common to eat less meat just because it’s too expensive.

    Every meat eater hindu ever!

I also do this for a while now and very proud of myself

    • Almighty Whitey

      April 10, 2023 at 2:43 pm

who says “i’m proud of myself”?!

      UG…YUCK!

    • Rithmy

      April 10, 2023 at 4:34 pm

@Almighty Whitey people with a healthy self esteem.
People should be more proud of theirselfs…
That does not mean they’re arrogant.

so you only occasionally abuse animals

    • Make Racists Afraid Again

      April 10, 2023 at 12:59 pm

I don’t believe that people who are cutting back on meat care any more about the suffering of animals than people who eat meat constantly.
They are concerned with their health or something else selfish.

    April 10, 2023 at 12:30 pm

Well, Indians have been doing way before.

  8. twins4an

    April 10, 2023 at 12:31 pm

    So why its smaller footprint?

    • twins4an

      April 10, 2023 at 2:22 pm

      @Chantell J y, but why its lower?

    • Pamela Cook

      April 10, 2023 at 3:09 pm

@twins4an Meat has a much larger carbon footprint than plants, so cutting his meat consumption, reduces his carbon footprint.

    • twins4an

      April 10, 2023 at 3:15 pm

@Pamela Cooki understand what is footprint and logic, if its smaller for meat than reducing meat means smaller footprint. Ty guys, rephrase my question how to compare footprint? How to measure footprint?

    • Rithmy

      April 10, 2023 at 4:40 pm

@twins4an It means that it is more efficient because you need less energy, less water, less land and less work time to produce food for a vegan than for an meat eater.
Additionally youals need to feed the animals that you you hold. So basically you need to feed an animal like all the time to get just a tiny amount of meat. Its lik 5 to 10x more efficient use of agricultur.

    • twins4an

      April 10, 2023 at 4:47 pm

@Rithmy now i see, feeding the animals feels like most impactful thing

    April 10, 2023 at 12:53 pm

    Because…. no thank you

  10. Make Racists Afraid Again

    April 10, 2023 at 12:55 pm

I gave up eating the rotting flesh of dead animals in 1968.
My relationship with animals is very different from that of people who eat other beings.

    • afterthought

      April 10, 2023 at 1:17 pm

I dread to ask what kind of relationship you have with animals then that other people don’t
And fyi, when you eat meat it doesn’t have to be rotting

    • TheHigherFury

      April 10, 2023 at 1:42 pm

Wh.. Why were you eating rotting flesh

    • Talha Can

      April 10, 2023 at 3:23 pm

And what do you eat tho ? Because plants are “other beings” too and they are alive

    • 22Purplemist

      April 10, 2023 at 7:08 pm

@Talha Can- not in the same way

    • 22Purplemist

      April 10, 2023 at 7:08 pm

      @afterthought- it’s rotting by it’s very nature

    I’m a weekday meat eater

  12. Mark Edis

    April 10, 2023 at 1:18 pm

No you are still contributing to the industry and it’s the meat industry that’s the second biggest problem. The biggest problem is that the planet is overpopulated with humans we need to reduce the number of people at least fourfold to stand a chance of surviving

    • Rithmy

      April 10, 2023 at 4:42 pm

Stop spouting this myth of overpopulation. We are not overpopulated. We have enough for everyone. Its a problem of distribution of resources. Not a problem of total resources.

    • 22Purplemist

      April 10, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I agree with your first sentence but not your second. What Rithmy said

    • Shahid Rather

      April 11, 2023 at 12:59 am

Then step up and make the earth one person less!

Ive been practicing this for years. It use to just be called being too broke to buy meat. But I like his term better

  16. cinnamon8884

    April 10, 2023 at 2:26 pm

he didn`t come up with it, the term flexitarian already exists. still doesn`t make him a vegetarian.

  17. AN

    April 10, 2023 at 2:26 pm

the fact that this veg diet can’t and won’t suite every one and a good amount of the claims it surrounded with are biased..

  18. Elbrus D. Tab

    April 10, 2023 at 2:38 pm

Well, there was a time our family did that, but we ate on the weekend to compensate the other days.
For me, reducing the amount of meat I buy, is the way to go.

  19. Lotschi

    April 10, 2023 at 2:54 pm

I approve this idea. Nevertheless it can easily be criticised.
Once you understand that eating meat is not good, why should you keep doing it the Weekend?

    • Rithmy

      April 10, 2023 at 4:35 pm

      Let people get habituated.

    • Lotschi

      April 11, 2023 at 3:35 am

    • TEHRAY

      April 11, 2023 at 4:09 am

People can’t do 100 immediately. Let them do 70 and move forward gradually. It’s better than staying at 0.

    • Bilbao Madrid

      April 11, 2023 at 6:43 pm

It’s good for body I guess. Cavemen wouldn’t have gotten along if it weren’t for meat

    • Lotschi

      April 12, 2023 at 8:55 am

@Bilbao Madrid The crucial point is that we aren‘t Cavemen anymore.
We have new sources of getting our proteins and minerals.
Dom‘t get me wrong, I like his concept and live pretty much upon this but in the long run my goal is to get completely rid of eating animals.
