A shame android watches can’t compete with it’s fitness tracking accuracy.

true. I have a samsung watch and it cannot compete with it. Also the third party apps. Thinking of switching to garmin or coros.

It’s a watch? What exactly do you need it to do? That’s why you have an iPhone as well to do phone stuff?

Still no Notes support besides updates notifications? We use it for a shared shopping list but you can’t see the notes via the watch, very frustrating

Just switched back to my Apple Watch Ultra from using the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, mainly because having tattoos inhibits the sensors on the GW7U for tracking exercises (no there isn’t an option for tattoo users, it only allows me to turn off wrist detection). I’d say the Apple Watch Ultra, the first gen is still a year or so ahead of the Galaxy watches. I’ll wait to put WatchOS 11 on my watch though.

    • @madrobothd

      August 12, 2024 at 12:37 pm

I have sleeves on both arms and I felt the Apple Watch Ultra 2 was the worst of any watch I’ve used with my tattoos. Used it for 7 months and just couldn’t justify the poor performance with that high price tag. I’ve since moved to the GWU and while it’s not that much better, it’s definitely still noticeably better with workout tracking for me 🤷‍♂️

    • @superiortoall22

      August 12, 2024 at 2:46 pm

@@madrobothdyeah I have sleeves on both arms. Don’t want to discredit your story but besides the Apple Watch SE 2022 and the first Apple Watch Ultra, the AWU2 has the best ranked sensor in studies while the GWU is ranked towards the middle, so I don’t know how suddenly the AWU2 isn’t doing so good in fact that’s part of the reason why it can hold its high price because it beats out garmins in terms of accuracy. Also my last three Samsung watches don’t pick up heart rate through ink and my tattoos aren’t overly dark with a few skin breaks so I don’t know how your sensors are picking up your heart rate which would provide accurate workout metrics.

Like I said ain’t discounting your story but as of now the GW7U looks to still be behind the AWU

The best thing to do with this watch is trade it for a Samsung Ultra as the phone is also better
