It’s a plea in front of a parole board. Alexandr Wang is rich from crypto-gambling… a scam layered on a scam. He’s young and rich and tangentially associated with technology… so he’s fully qualified to talk at a TED event. Or more likely he paid $$ for his TED talk.

The last thing we need is more “Them” vs.”Us” rationale.
Do AI, do National Security, you do you, but don’t delude yourself into presuming to be morally better than “them”.

“They” have been very clear in their opposition to Western ideals.

Putin-Russia has a clear record of lying. The Kremlin strategy is to bury the official truth in loads of conflicting accounts.

China has been clear in its opposition to the freedom of speech and democracy.

Unilateral disarmament is to walk away from Western ideals that have developed over millennia. And it’s not limited to military conflict but economic as well. Russia has brutally demonstrated that peace is not guaranteed through trade. Trading with geopolitical opponents strengthens them and weakens Western self-reliance.

What is the point 😂. We have thousands of nukes, you keep rationalizing that what your doing is beneficial to society, just like the scientists who developed the Atomic bomb. Also why should you only care about the national security of one nation? So limited in your thinking you are. Without persecution you’ll just exploit and enact coups around the world, everyone looses even The USA, you just don’t realize it. How about you actually do something meaningful, wasted money just to elites can benefit from their capitalistic short term economic boom cycles at the cost of billions, how about you spend it on education, healthcare, public infrastructure, renewable energy, waste management, water treatment, environmental restoration, R&D ect.

Guys my mommy and daddy worked at Los Alamos and they were both super smart physicists. Listen to me, I know what I’m talking about. “Why are we so far behind in AI and Machine Learning. Ah cute little Alex here thinks we are behind. God bless his cute little soul man. Alex buddy. You’re way farther behind than you realize. We don’t need AI or Machine Learning because we can control all of that and there is nothing on the planet that can be encrypted from us. Poor little Alex here dedicating his life to an antiquated idea that he thinks is the future. We need people like you Alex to spread this information to allow us to continue operating with impunity. Thank you so very much for this inciteful TED talk.

    Explains a bit.

How does a paperclipper factory compare to a bullet factory? Interesting how the Moloch goes out the window in this Regard.

Or what Does a Remington have to do with Commercialization. Interesting to think where the same Commercial interests managed to become the mainstay during WW2. After the success of a Britain Proganda Campaign.

The Mock games were a better route. Alteast then there would be a simulated testing ground as why such is a horrible idea.

Always better to get out ahead of the Game, but some Games are losing Games. Then what is the Fastest way to Win this Dumb Game? Win it Before it Starts.

    Good Luck

    • REllEK#Conceptualism

      July 11, 2023 at 6:46 pm

      Not to Mention

The Shortening Attention Spans and the Poor Working Memory. Societal Addiction to Alcohol Which is as Bad as Cigarettes Cancer Wise. And in addition rots the Brain.

And what Normalizes Such? What Makes such Mundane? What is the Difference between a Bullet and One that Finds the Target Automatically? What of the Built in Error Rate? What Obfuscates those Questions.

Commercialism. What would be the Easiest way to Control a Population? One that forgot Public Relatuons Meant Proganda. Or is so Mundane that we Forget that One of the Largest Markets is Controlling Thought. And the Paperclipper that is in the Scope of Defining AGI and why such has Moved onto ASI.

      Really kicking the Can Here

    • REllEK#Conceptualism

      July 11, 2023 at 6:58 pm

      And Finally

The Freedom Route is by way of Marketplace of Ideas. Competition. The complexities of Commercialism versus Conceptualization made Testable in Reality.

Which is More Coherent in Higher Orders of Logic? Which Relies on Crushing Logic into Schools if Philosophy. As if a Product?

Which would Lose its Mind and think it were a God? The One Told to Control People’s Minds? An ASi PR Agent is more terrifying than anything Described Here.

What mode of thought could Break down the Advertised and Point out the Embeddings? Conceptual. Which in Commercial is Not Testable in Reality due to 100 Year Old Conceptualism. Unfortunately that is a Belief that Can be Tested and Contradicted just be Talking it Out Logically.

Ramifications of a Manipulated Commercial Knowledge Base. Too Many If Statements. It is Paramount to rip those out of your Head.

Otherwise just another Consumer Drone no Matter the Station. Remember we Forgot about PR and Proganda. Or Just Accept the Contradiction.

      Sounds Like Double Think
And might as Well say this than Outloud than Live in a World having to Worry About Wrong Think. In the Scope of a Singularity and Pointing to Inconsistencies.

Implications of the Loss of Local Reality are Interesting in Situations Like this.

Is AI going to be monumental in shaping our future? Yes. But companies need to have strict data governance and ethics while implementing AI into defense and in the private sector.

Unfortunately, Scale AI will not be one of the companies that will be critical to the implementation of AI in the defense and private sector. As I fear, that they are just trying to capitalize on the moment monetarily and attempting to copy larger players in the space like Palantir who are actually making a difference in the world.

The willful blindness and delusional thinking you have to engage in to convince yourself that the US military, with its history of absolute evil over the last century, is somehow the entity that should be trusted with these weapons is nothing short of total brainwashing. This is such propaganda. I’d rather see China with this technology than the US because China doesn’t have a history of torturing people in Iraq or bombing weddings in Afghanistan or using chemical weapons in Vietnam or dropping more bombs on Laos than were used in all of WWII or planning coups in basicaly every country in the world. It’s a uniquely American trait to ignore all their egregious human rights violations and somehow convince themselves that they are the good guys.

Let AI develop a 1:1 virtual Earth, where anyone who wants to wage war can do so in this virtual world. If they lose, they must abide by the agreement. If any country disagrees, then let’s eliminate the government of that country. We need a mandatory treaty to eliminate the occurrence of war. In the virtual world, people won’t truly die, houses won’t truly collapse, and individuals can vent their hatred. Eventually, everybody realize the war is so boring and empty. Many people fail to realize the true horror of war. So let this virtual simulated world show them the cost of war. In this virtual warfare, unleash all the terrifying methods you can think of and let everyone tremble! At the same time, let everyone see whether it’s the enemy being annihilated or the entire human civilization being destroyed. These lunatics, frauds, and politicians will then understand how to negotiate and coexist in the real world.

What we need instead is an international ban of AI aided weaponry, controlled by the UN.

The best thing an AGI could do for humanity is to prevent us from killing each other, not by force, but by disrupting supply chains, communications, and financial transactions that enable the military machines throughout the world.

Imagine if AI is truly democratized, and so it becomes a battle between different country’s AI instead of humans. Or better yet it just becomes a stalemate of mutually assured destruction like with nuclear weapons. I think that’s the best outcome here, because the technology growth isn’t slowing down and good luck getting all countries on board with using AI responsibly, and better luck with enforcing any regulations.

Our Government use AI against its citizens ultimately. Constant monitoring of humans within the AI field will only inevitably move us closer to “minority report”. All his metaphors in this talk is about War. Where one is inferior and the other is superior.

I don’t trust ANY state actor to protect the interests of people outside of that nation.

In addition, I do not trust any state actors to protect most people WITHIN that nation.

I predict that AI will be used by lobbied and corrupt state actors to promote the interests of the ruling classes, in most cases, especially if it is the ruling classes who control access to the most powerful and useful AI. Which, for now, is the case.

Which is why I believe in democratizing WAY FUCKING MORE, GLOBALLY!

    No gods no masters!!

The world has experienced a thousand different versions of the Tuskegee experiments. This may be one in a long lineage of threats from the state to the people, especially the most vulnerable.

This took a dark turn…. Basically sounds like propaganda for increasing Military Industrial Complex. And said in a tone that is Naive that US is the primary cause of illegitimate military invasions.

It is precisely this mindset of rallying up people around a “cause” that has been used time and time again on both sides to justify war. And of course you need a justification, how many people would dedicate (or even sacrifice their lives) if the government said “Help us so that our own thirst for power can prevail over that other government thirst for power”? Not really enticing, is it?

Whether your country wins or loses, the people have always historically ended up worse after a war (loved ones don’t come back if you “win”). Only pillagers and leaders come back with their spoils….

So no thank you, I choose to do my part and NOT lend my technical skills to war!

I would much rather use technology to improve communication between the people of each country, help with the energy, food and water crisis, help improve healthcare overall (which is what I am doing), help fight cancer and other terminal illnesses, just to name a few!
There are so many causes really worth rallying around, so many challenges needing cooperation and the best minds the world has to offer… Why on Earth would I pick war among those???!!!
