Ik that if they lose a engine they can still safely land it’s in the soft ware and the motors have enough thrust to keep it in the air but now u have to think about what birds drones and airliners. A lot more traffic in the air

I believe the Alpharetta/John’s Creek GA area would be a prime market for this type of air taxi service. I see helicopters around here all the time, and ATL airport is 35 miles south.

This ain’t taking off if the price remains at $100 a trip indefinitely. Pardon the pun 😆

At first it will be only conpany-paid flights and CEOs traveling in these. High income (first class) people might also use these. You figure the airport transports thousands of people daily, so this will definitely be able to squeeze 4 passengers easily.

The idea that the solution for traffic gridlock is everyone flying 4 at a time is preposterous. Airports that are also effective transit hubs don’t have traffic congestion going to them, because duh! Less transit options always lead to more traffic gridlock. Moving individuals one or four at a time only makes traffic worse, not better. How will 150 of these things work all trying to land in the same space? A single passenger bus can handle that many people.

Finally. However, helicopter “taxi” between Manhattan and JFK already exit… Should call it just electric helicopter. Well maybe I’m wrong since it’s quiter than normal helicopter it’s able to fly places that was redistricted also it’s much safer (supposedly)

Not certifiable for transport category. United doesn’t even own helicopters nor gulf streams. This is a nod to the green new dealers as a quid pro quo as the next bail-out looms.

Who cares, why even do this? This is not going to be something available to the common folk. People might spurge their nice in a while but the fact this new waves of taxis acting like it’s going to be a competitive to the transport Industry.

Of course, they appear to be quoting door to door times for driving vs. just the flight leg for the Air Taxi. One still has to get to the departure point for the Air Taxi. Total time delta may be moot.

  26. CannonKnight

    December 5, 2022 at 5:15 am

Something tells me it won’t pick you up at your front door like an Uber. If you first have to drive to this flying taxi, how much time are you saving?

  27. Andre

    December 5, 2022 at 5:20 am

Curious how many of these vehicles will be able to fit into the prescribed air corridor at any given moment? With additional competitors, will our skies be filled with wealthy people taking the shortcut to the airport?

  29. terry wayne Hamilton

    December 5, 2022 at 6:44 am

Looks expensive. Aviation is most expensive form of travel, thus will only work as luxury VP service / sightseeing /private toy. Might make a good crop duster, etc.. Airlines might use for First Class Customers pick up/drop off.

  30. Jason

    December 5, 2022 at 7:23 am

I call BS on the 100 dollar tickets. It’s all marketing to tech investors. These vehicles will exist but be only for the rich to charter. Average person will still be stuck in traffic.

So basically it’s not that different from a helicopter. It has more propellers, it also needs a qualified pilot and it takes up the same amount of space, only electric

It’s very interesting. Feels like we’re getting a littler closer to that future where major cities might start looking like Coruscant in the Star Wars prequels. Before you know it they’re going to have to come up with some kind of flying lane system or air traffic controlling for passenger vehicles. You can already see the headlines where 2 Archers collide and kill some people if this starts to expand faster than it can see some kind of regulation.

    • MikeofLA

      December 5, 2022 at 10:53 pm

They already have air lanes and ATC for small planes and helicopters in most major metro area. I imagine these will piggy back off of those to start.

I bought some stock in this company and I’m very optimistic about it. Having been a military aviation tech, and now a sport pilot, I can see no other real competitor for this kind of vehicle coming to the market any time soon.

    • Alveraz Henderson-Ricardez
