So I guess Tesla is way behind on self driving. Now, the best it can be is 3rd in line. I hope it make it 3rd, as that is not even guaranteed.

Tesla already won this race. Every one of these companies will win either margin as Tesla is all integrated. The cost per mile they won’t be able to compete

@loopholelifestyle Stop lying. There is NO Tesla robotaxi working anywhere in the world. Waymo was 1st, Lucid will be 2nd, and it remains to be seen who is 3rd. Tesla has NOT “already won this race.” Don’t spread lies like Elon Musk. Who care about “cost per mile” when you do not have a single Tesla car able to drive itself without getting into an accident. In fact, out of these 3, Tesla is the only one who’s self driving has killed people and has lost countless court cases, having to pay $millions in damages.

it’s not about being first with many problems it’s about making a good product that works everywhere which Tesla will be first to do. all the other cars must be in a mapped location and are terrible at handling edge cases which teslas can easily handle because of their generalized solution

@gigaboaat Waymo is not only the first, but it is also the only one with the proven self driving technology in the real world driving real people every day.
It looks like Lucid will be the 2nd in the market to do the same, meaning that Tesla can at best be the 3rd, but that remains to be seen.
I do not understand why you think criticizing Waymo scores points for Tesla. Who cares if Tesla can “handle edge cases … extremely well,” when it currently cannot self drive and give people rides unsupervised or without crashing and killing people?
Until Tesla has deployed a self driving fleet in the real world equal or better than Waymo, you are just a fanboy refusing to accept the reality that Tesla will at best be 3rd to deliver real self driving car to the market.
You have drank the Elon Kool Aid so hard, and despite a decade of unfulfilled promised, you talk as if Tesla has already delivered a self driving fleet. Wake up, you are riding a Waymo, not a Tesla.
