Finally, I will have AI slop in my car! Not only that Maps will show me relevant ads and send the information about me to data brokers! This is what everyone was asking for!

I strongly disagree. The conversational features alone are worth the upgrade.

Gemini and Android being proactive and giving me a heads up to weather issues, traffic, road construction and speed reductions for work zones, localized events that can cause road detours, all in a conversational mode

Honestly I dont mind the Android Auto stuff. The YouTube thing is actually useful and I’ve noticed Gemini has already taken over the old AI and its voice recognition and response is better. With that said, I dont want AI to have any control of my car functions.

I really want an actual driving demo of the new Immersive Navigation…

Same. I saw them say something about lane guidance and how it zooms in when you’re about to switch lanes and shows which lane you’re in and which line you’re supposed to be in. I want to see that.

@MarcusWarcus40 Just to inform you, mate, the feature showing you which lane you are in and which lane you need to be in, called Live Lane Guidance (or something like that, correct me if I’m wrong), will work only on cars that run Android Automotive (Google Built-in) on their screen and have a factory-fitted front facing camera, where Maps can access the video footage from it and determine which lane you’re on. The front facing camera is required as GPS is just not accurate enough to determine which specific lane you’re on.
Other than that, I am really excited for Immersive Navigation in general.

@funfactsandreviews9763i think i have a front facing camera in my ford, but it probably wont be supported so i might have to accept i wont get this feature. Still excited to see the updates. Wish we could have it so if you had a dock in the car, it would just use the back camera of the phone for lane guidance. That would be cool

Hey Google, can you make this vehicle affordable?
@christianmbabazi9722
May 22, 2026 at 7:16 pm
This only works for vehicles that have Android Auto built in to the car not as a tether app through your Android phone which kind of sucks
