President Donald Trump and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei met for dinner as their opposing views on AI safety increasingly shape the debate over how quickly the technology should advance. Amodei has called for “pacing” development of the most advanced models and stronger guardrails, while President Trump has pushed back against slowing AI development as the US races to stay ahead of China. Regulations are a trick of major companies. It creates a moat because only companies at this scale can navigate them. You install your cronies then no one else but the 5 major companies control the data. How are so many people sleeping on this grift? How can you keep blaming conservatives for the amount of wealth distribution as we keep getting more liberal policies that gap keeps moving in the direction they claim they are fighting. Maybe just maybe you need to rethink who is the enemy. Maybe the media and global elites really are not so noble. Maybe the control arm is a sleight of hand. They can control their ai agents. They set the goals and parameters. They didn’t want to because letting them run wild gets them the benchmarks needed to impress investors for their IPOs, there is no legal or cost penalty for doing so. And saying “oh the AI did it” isn’t an excuse.. These companies knowingly did these tests, saftey and supervision, slows and costs them – they don’t get the impressive numbers. They did it because it benefitted them and until there real consequences that hurt them they’ll keep doing it.
