This speaker took on gerrymandering in her state — and won! #TEDTalks
You don’t need political power to make real change, says activist Katie Fahey. She tells the story of how she led a successful movement in Michigan to end gerrymandering — the practice of drawing district lines to favor one political party — and how it all started with a simple social media post.

@SharonGibson-g7d Gerrymandering seems to only help people who are in power stay in power. That is antithetical to the way the U.S is supposed to operate. If you can’t maintain power without giving yourself an unfair advantage, you should hold no office in the United States of America.

I have something that keeps me up at night, that makes me feel like “man I really wish I could change the ENTIRE GOVERNMENT”. That’s not exactly something one can take on unfortunately, especially not just a middle age maintenance tech from rural New Mexico🤦🏼♂️
