why do fireflies have to die so young

  49. @KlimovArtem1

    May 23, 2024 at 3:15 am

That’s funny she mentioned in the beginning how superstitions her community is and I immediately remember my home town, when most people, including my family, were both very religious and superstitious. For quite a while I couldn’t understand that phenomenon, since I was a non-believer. I thought, if you believe a holy book (whichever it is in your case) and it clearly says how to behave to be under god’s care, why would you believe in different other nonsense, like, a black cat crossing your way, etc? Only when I got much older I realized that it just perfectly matches together. People just believe! In whatever. They don’t care, they just want to believe, so they do in several things, often simultaneously and not caring if those beliefs are compatible or not…
    Sorry, a bit off topic.

Interesting u caught the part where she mentioned about superstition. I live with one strong superstitious being. I find it ridiculous that I can’t bring out pillows from the house night time. It’s so ridiculous that I start to respect her beliefs cos she’s my mom. But what does it mean tho? I still don’t get it until now. Like another one, don’t lift ur legs up when ur lying on ur tummy. They say, u wish for ur mother to die, but in reality, it’s to prevent the ladies who wears night gown/ sarong from being exposed by doing so. Some superstition doesn’t make any sense. But others have their double meaning to it.
