    If the first priority is to retrieve the hostages ASAP, why call down air strikes on the strip, presumably they can hit hostages too, no? Isn’t that where they are at the moment?

    While Israel has the US as funder/protector you get tyrants like Ben Net throwing their weight around. the US do it so they get a steady supply of cheap oil. until you give Palestinians a home & sovereignty there will be problems. people can get very extreme when they have nothing to lose. & yet every time it has been raised at the UN, the US has immediately vetoed it.

    There is no “good” or “bad guy” in this conflict so stop with the BS. Both sides have inflicted horrific atrocities for decades and their leaders don’t want peace. That is the cold hard truth. “Peace” to both groups means completely erasing the other side.

    Hamas did a calculated move. The ball is now in Israel’s court. Let’s hope its responses are just as calculated. Traps are set for over actions.

    The introduction of the host sets the tone. For good reasons there is a word ‘enabler’. This hubris, fashionable denial of the very existence of an entire population, the largest open-air prison of the world, the most populated place on earth– all these seem nothing to these high minded experts. Good riddance

    With all due respect to everyone, the state of Israel is approximately 8,630 square miles. Would it be possible for any friendly country to give them 15,000 square miles? Is this a crazy idea? This area is almost nothing for many countries. After 100 years, what would be the implications of this? Who would be the real winners? Where does our history live, inside or outside us?

    What a polite talk. “Attack” on Israel…
    You “forgot” to mention: hamas animals raiding over civilians homes. Slautering families while parents hugging their children. Killing the parents and kidnapping the children. Burning people alive in their homes. Freedom fighters? No, the lowest form of life, enjoying the slauter. However, sadly, most muslims automatically support that. Same cultural roots. Gaza got billions of dollars over the years, however, spet it all on weapons and curroption, while the citizens remain poor and illiterate. The blocade was put exactly to prevent what happened, and this is the proof. You could put Gaza in the middle of Europe and it would still remain the same, as most arab and muslim countries governed by religions fanatics.
    Don’t blame Israel for what Gaza had become. For once, ask the Palestinians look in the mirror and take responsibility for their doings.
    In this case, a slaughter and kidnapping of families, women and children. Muslims and arabs should be judged by the same moral standards as the western world. Stop letting them getting away with it just because we got so used to the atrocities done by muslim terrorists throughout history.

Did they invest in schools hospitals or create a thriving community to better the people’s lives? NO they chose to use that money for rebellion and murder of the Israelis. The Palestinians aren’t benefiting since they’ve turned down every peace deal since 1938.

    They immediately rejected 2020 U.S. peace offer without even a counter-offer.

    Netanyahu should have tried to negotiate. But it would have gotten no place. At least he would have been trying.

    Two state solution is now dead for at least another generation. No way Israelis will go for that.

    Palestinians have agency. They could have taken a deal and said yes. Panzy western liberals are always taken in by their victimhood routine. They reject every peace offer but call for the murder of the Jews. Whose kidding who.

    Israel was attacked by HAMAS an organization that is militarily 1000x weaker than the Israel army. Stop trying to portray Israel as a vulnerable victim when it has been the Oppressor of the Palestinians for the last 70 years. Now you would ask why Palestinians 1000x weaker than the Israeli army would do such a foolish thing as if it were a kamikaze attack, that is because the Palestinians see no hope and are desperate.

    It is interesting to remember that in the case of the Yum Kippur War, Golda Meir also claimed that the Israeli Intelligence had been caught off guard and Egyptian forces had been able to progress far beyond the Suez before a counter-manoeuvre by the Israelian army, considerably helped by Mr. Kissinger’s relief, was able to push them back and give them a drubbing that changed the face of the Middle East. One can read the memoirs of Golda Meir and sense that there was more to the story than told. The Israeli intelligence knew a lot more than they have ever acknowledged. It is very likely that Mrs Meir was a strategist that understood very well that letting the Egyptian progress into Israel and inflict severe damage and casualties gave her the moral high ground to retaliate with avenging fierceness and massive punishing destruction. The end justified the means, but the bottom of the successful strategy could never be acknowledged in view of the losses incurred in springing the trap. Mr Netanyahu is no less a strategist than Golda Meir. He knew very well that he needed a moral justification to annihilate Hamas. Once again, he claimed that Israeli intelligence had failed to predict the attack, allowing important casualties to be sustained and seen by the world before reacting with a violence that had become justifiable. Hamas’ uninterrupted rampage opened the door to massive retaliation. This is the stuff that strategy is made of. War is a game where you must know the price of doing business. Netanyahu knew Golda Meir’s secret. He’ll take it to the grave if he can.

    it baffles me how uneducated or willingly deaf – my guess the latter – this guy is about the perspective of the Palestinians. it takes no idiot to know that Israel is the only ally to the west in that region and the rest of the countries are merely business partners and israel’s demise (even though its creation was illegal) means a huge loss and utter defeat of an already collapsing influence of the west in that region. i.e Israel falls, the west hegemony will never recover.

    trying to whitewash the narrative with how it’s the “only democracy” or “advanced economy” and all is just an effort to turn a blind eye to the US and the western neglect to human rights in that region. the US didn’t retreat from vietnam, or afganistan or iraq. they were kicked out and over exhausted and everyone from those regions know that.

    just another piece to whitewash everything and make the west seem like its the only side with “real” human morals.

    No 2 State solution in the next 100 years. Who in Israel can ever trust the Palestinian people sitting in Gaza unless they for some miracle decide to cooperate with their neighbours. It’s not just Israel that doesn’t trust them but also the Egyptians that hold Gaza and the Sinai in place. 😅No one mentions that Egypt also has issues with the governmental bodies in Gaza. They could open their border to more than the 400 to 800 daily that can leave or enter their border. . Reuters reported on 10/11/23 that Egypt is moving to avert a mass exodus from the Gaza Strip into its Sinai Peninsula. Egypt doesn’t want them fleeing toward Sinai. Their President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said “ that the escalation in Gaza was highly dangerous and “ and that Egypt wanted other solutions. “Rafah is the sole possible crossing point into Sinai for Gaza’s 2.3 million residents” on Monday , per Egypt, “about 800 people left Gaza through the Rafah crossing and about 500 entered” without goods. Egypt does not want anotherIslamist insurgency like was seen when Obama came into the Presidency. Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood share “ islamist ideology”. ( as if things couldn’t get worse). For sone reason the MSM doesn’t discuss the problems Hamas has with Egypt. Israel, in my opinion, always gets the blame for being unreasonable. I think the ME is more pragmatic today than when I was young but that could be wrong. All fairness to Egypt I believe that they have become a somewhat trusted partner with Israel who was once their mortal enemy – so hopefully that continues. As friendships go in that part of the world I respect Egypt for their cooperation – because I’m totally sure they get heat from other regional governments. Peace in the ME won’t happen in my life but it would be an actual miracle if these differences could be respected between all their neighbours. I hold no hate for the average person in the Middle East. That said as a person sitting in the US I didn’t see an attack like what we saw Saturday coming. Obviously Israel also didn’t see the danger which probably came about because of unrest there. I worry about the US in this regard also. I think we need to get our focus back without all the political grandstanding. Maybe this situation will snap our political class out of their insanity. This was a good interview and actually Piers Morgan had a good one with Ben Shapiro today. The two men sometimes surprise me.

    Certain scholars posit and maintain the contention that the actions undertaken by Israel potentially satisfy the criteria necessary to be categorized as a war crime. A civilization grappling with moral difficulties within the Occidental realm There seems to be a noticeable distinction in the manner in which the lamentable demise of Israeli civilians, who are devoid of guilt, and the continuous bombardment, anguish, and loss of life endured by the innocent populace of Gaza elicit contrasting reactions. This is an unequivocal depiction of the inherent shortcomings stemming from the monopolistic character of United States policy in the Middle East. It consciously elected to abstain from the pursuit of a harmonious settlement. The magnitude of the injustice has transcended the boundaries of comprehension. As per the perspective articulated by Josep Borrell, the act of withholding essential resources such as water, sustenance, and electricity from the region of Gaza is deemed unsuitable, albeit not in violation of any legal statutes within the framework of a rule-oriented global system that has garnered substantial acceptance from Western nations. Mr. Josep Borrell, I must respectfully express my dissent regarding the decision to refrain from categorizing Israel’s actions in Gaza as a crime against humanity.

    It’s not a war. The Israeli’s have been gradually making Palestine disappear ever since the EXIM Bank of the United States bank rolled their military with loans into the hundreds of billions that were never paid off. Now they have become so brasin and aggressive about it that they are calling the war, but their views and attitudes toward the Palestinians never really developed much.

    Choice of words is critical! In your first few opening sentences you have chosen not to use the word “terrorist” describing Hamas but did choose “settlers” to describe Israeli civilians. Are all Israelis settlers? Isn’t Hamas a terrorist organization declaring that killing civilians is a legitimate form of armed struggle?

    I condemn Hamas and Hezbollah for being the secret agents of Israel and acts accordingly to their calendar. Hamas was created by Israel against PLO. Everything gives the sense that it’s a secret agent. In the pretext of chasing Hamas and Hizb Israel will be firing missiles/ bomb those places. Connecting the dots. US gave 6 billion dollars in prisoners swap. Arms sold to Ukraine is blackmailed to Hamas.

    Instead of the expected retaliation, why can’t Israel reach out to the Palestinian people and to the world and seek peace.

    Let Israel tell the Palestinian people that Israel knows. Knows that the ordinary Palestinian people only want peace, security, and equality ( like anyone would).

    Let Israel reach out to the Palestinian people and offer a one state solution where Palestinian people will be looked after and where Israeli and the Palestinian people can live in peace, equality, and mutual respect

    Let Israel say…. Instead of the world spending billions on war. Let this money be spent on lasting peace.
    This is possible! It takes humility, trust, forgiveness on both sides, and sharing. You can do this! Rebuild Israel. Lose the fear.
    Give up your attachment to possessions / land. You can’t take them with you. Your stressed children won’t thank you for them.
    Do this for the ashes of your Father’s and the temples of your / our God, for your brothers who are also loved by God..

    No loving God would be against peace. God must be crying at seeing brother fight brother. The waste, the stupidity. Years of bickering have solved nothing.

    Let those killed have died for something. For peace. Let’s show God and our innocent children that we are worth it. That we are good. That we don’t value things/ possessions over people and peace. That we don’t fear sharing. That we don’t need a land of our own. We want to share. We are one.

    Let the Palestinian people also reach out their hand in peace and trust.

    Isn’t it possible that Putin, who met with the Iranians this past summer, persuaded his Iranian allies to leverage their relationship with Hamas, open a second front against the U.S. and allies as a distraction from the Ukrainian War? This aids the Trump Campaign too.

    Legal definition of GENOCIDE, by the United Nations, applicable to Israel.
    And of the concept of INTENT (Responsibility by ACTION or OMISSION).
    The Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948, as well as the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) of 1998 contain an identical definition for the Crime of Genocide:
    GENOCIDE shall mean any of the following acts perpetrated with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as such:
    A) Killing of members of a group;
    B) Serious injury to the physical or mental integrity of members of a group;
    C) Intentional subjection of the group to conditions of existence that will result in its physical destruction, in whole or in part;
    D) Measures intended to prevent births within the group;
    E) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

    INTENT (Liability for ACTION or OMISSION):
    What is exactly and legally understood, in International Law, by INTENT?
    The Rome Statute for the International Criminal Court (1998) reflects “…. A person has INTENT when… in relation to his conduct, that person INTENDS to cause that consequence or is AWARE that it will occur in the ordinary course of events”.
    Likewise, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in its landmark judgment, Akayesu (1998), established that “the offender is GUILTY of GENOCIDE because he knew or SHOULD have known that the act committed would destroy, in whole or in part, a GROUP.
    (Adam Jones, Genocide, a Comprehensive Introduction, Routledge, New York, 2006, page 21, good explanation on the issue of INTENT within the concept of Genocide, for scholars and legal theorists).

    Iran will continue to develop nuclear weapons.
    They will in time test a nuclear weapon.
    The design will be perfected.
    Do not expect this to occur in a vacuum.
    At some point the Russians and Iranians will trade their knowledge and adopt mutually beneficial goals.
    Russia does know how to develop delivery systems.
    At some point, Israel better start looking over its shoulder with specific regard to its actions aimed at Palestinians.

    This is the trigger that indeed can launch a
    Full Nuclear World War Three.

    Arming the likes of Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, etc. with ultimate power of censorship would be one of the worst moral travesties imaginable. Their “opinion“ of what is truth and what is falsehood, IS NOT, and must never be construed as, what real truth is. They work their own agenda as anyone would expect. True freedom of expression is self regulating and self-correcting. If the world knows that anybody can go on to a platform and say anything they want to, Then the responsibility is thrown back to the viewer to decide whether it was the truth or not. People need that responsibility to remain with them, and not given over to somebody like the censors at YouTube.

    Everyone is moving on because everyone knows the Palestinians cannot be appeased. They have nixed at least five offers … very generous offers … because the annihilation of the Jews was the only thing not on the table. The two-state solution is now dead forever, and they have only themselves to blame. Let’s also not forget that the people of Gaza voted for Hamas, so they are not blameless. They teach their children to hate and kill Jews. Is it any wonder that Jordan and Egypt don’t want any part of them either?

    Myron W. And I were the system integrators of the New York City 911 system. While I was relieved that the 911 operators should have gotten out
    Of the North Tower.
    It made me curious about what happened on September 11, 2001.

    It is a long story. Read the official report but do not forget to also read the report from the Architects and Engineers of bridges and tall buildings.

    There is a distinct aroma from reading Both reports. It is a familiar smell of death, corruption, and lies.
    The same stench as you get from the Warren Commission Report.

    An inside, black flag job?
    Read the reports, if you dare.
    There is a hidden issue here.

    During the 1948 war that established the state of Israel, the Israeli military bombed 29 villages in southern Palestine, leading tens of thousands of villagers to flee to the Gaza Strip, under the control of the Egyptian army that were deployed after Israel declared independence.

    How is this acceptable? Bombing civilians is not acceptable in any war. Israel are an apartheid state and needs dismantling. Give the Palestinians their land back. No God condones this kind of behaviour, no matter what religious texts you choose to believe.

    There is this. Isrseli settlements in the socalled west bank are not illegal. Jordan illegally occupied the region after WWII. Tge Jews have had as much right to live there as Arabs. Jordan kicked the Jews from their homes all the way into East Jerusalem making the area contested by both groups of people. We can thank Jordan for that. Check out the 1948 news rheels. That said Israel left the Gaza years ago and Israel and UNWRA and the U.S. etc financed building up the Gaza for the people but both the PLO and Hamas and Fatah used the money for tunnels instead of food clothing and shelter for the people. They built no infrastructure but went to Israel and Egypt for power and water and food. Palestinian leaders are the nemasis of their own people. Islamic Jihad is the goal of these leaders not the lives of their people. That Jihad has propagandized the world in schools and the media for decades. People crying for death of Israel in New York outright deny Hamas raning and killing and beheading babies inspite of witnesses and photographs. They refuse reality. Islamic propaganda has dominated the would and the ignorance of many people is phenominal! Israel cannot back down now. Israel was shafted by the League of Nations and the Arabs from 1948 onward and has had to protect every square inch of their country ever since. Read American Gulogs. Our campuses are now hot beds of evil from Islamic propaganda and we are next if Israel loses.
