If this does come out to be true, it can make sense well in some ways it might annoy people that have to wait and other others. It makes sense have the higher end models come out first and you capture those people that are going to upgrade right away anyways, and you still make that money as well as the money from people that are impatient and don’t want to wait so maybe you get some of those people and then for the truly value conscious people that can’t afford or refuse or don’t Need any of the extras and only will buy the cheaper ones. They buy them later down the road after you grabbed as much money out of the higher end products first.
Honestly, it’s pretty smart and a kind of fills in some other months of what would otherwise probably be empty release dates

Today on the Homer Simpson files , I had to return to the grocery store to return two items. Total recovered was $22 today alone. I’m supposed to be getting $200 per week in prisoners allowance. He has been robbing me for $50 the last couple of months; about 6 months. His previous scam was marking things as buy one get one /BOGO and then right the cash register to not give me the discount. So to fix that , I started checking my cart and receipts before I leave the store. 50% of the time I have to return something before I leave the store. That’s the behavior of someone who is running the country in the USA in front of a terminal.

It’s only more logical in profit terms if they launch *iPhone 18 pro , 18 pro max and iPhone 18 air* in the opening window and later sell the 18 , 18E , 18 Ultra ! It maintains balance and dumping the later launch with a perception of cheaper iPhones

I assume by staggering the launches, they’re doing this to launch cheaper lower margin phones after RAM pricing peaks ~mid-2027. Higher priced/margin phones can more easily absorb the dramatically increasing component prices. Their stuff remains “innovative” while simultaneously protecting their margins and MSRPs. Probably a one time thing due to the projected pricing arc of RAM.

You can keep your iPhone for 6 years or more. You DO NOT need to upgrade every year. Break the cycle of nonsense. I personally know one person that just upgraded to the iPhone 18 Pro from the iPhone X. Yes, that iPhone X. I know another friend who currently has the iPhone 12 Mini and is refusing to upgrade until he can’t get software/security updates. Again… you don’t have to upgrade every year… if you really need to part ways with $1,000… you could dump that into Apple Stock. Much better investment IMO.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max 2 TB is the first iPhone that was built that deserves the name “iPhone ultra”.
It is the first iPhone that literally had everything. Even the Samsung launch at the same time didn’t offer 2 TB of storage.
If you’re going to name these things “pro” or “ultra” then you’re basically implying that they are somehow better than everything else.
I bought the iPhone 17 Pro Max 2 TB for $2000 after skipping the 15 and the 16 simply because they didn’t offer 2 TB of storage.
As far as I’m concerned, the fold is a stupid idea, but if they’re going to do a folding iPhone, that should be its own run of iPhones, which offers an iPhone fold, iPhone fold Pro and iPhone fold ultra.
iPhone 18 should be the standard candy bar model and it should have a standard, pro and ultra model for itself.

The change in schedule makes sense, but I am sure for those that have been holding onto an aging iPhone for the regular 18 will not be thrilled by an extra 6 months or so to get it. It doesn’t impact me personally, but I understand why people would complain.

We don’t need a foldable iPhone — we need a true iPhone Ultra that completely outclasses everyone else.
When I look at my friends — almost all of whom now use Chinese ultra phones like the Oppo Find X9 Ultra or the Vivo X300 Ultra — I see devices that take better photos, run a better OS, and above all have far better AI features. Honestly, it feels like Apple is ripping me off — and not gently either.
They literally laugh when they see my iPhone 16 Pro Max and the crappy photos I take with it.
I’m seriously thinking about switching to Android if Apple doesn’t get its act together. For the price we pay, it’s honestly shameful — there’s no other word for it.
