Chinese backed groups / investors looking to put them into debt traps, my guess.

Nah that’s not how it works, I saw a johnny harris video that explains how the chinese is putting African countries into a debt spiral, while that is hugely concerning, it’s different with tech startups because the investors are actually looking to profit

I watched Itimi’s documentary on Africa’s Tech Journey. I was born in 2006 and usually i get frustrated by what i thought was mere lack of exposure in the tech space amongst Nigerian Adults but having seen what the state of tech was like then in her docu and comparing it to how far we’ve come so quickly (thanks to some daring pioneers), I have more hope in Nigeria’s future. And yes I can vouch for what she said about young people brainstorming ideas everywhere, just some years back that wasn’t the status quo, the success of our pioneers has given us hope, now there are a lot of ambitious and thanks to the internet well informed youths, and now seeing itimi on Ted, that is also inspiring. It’s crazy how hope can totally transform a nation. Y’all our western bros better watch out. Oh and thanks Ted, for bringing Itimi in.

I recently sold some of my long-term position and currently sitting on about 250k, do you think Nvidia is a good buy right now or I have I missed out on a crucial buy period, any good stock recommendation on great performing stocks will be appreciated.

My colleagues had a good laugh at me when I told them I started my journey with $50k capital and how I accumulated over 6 figures within a span of 7 months. They never believed me until I pulled out my P&L.

I know that learning the ins and outs of the market isn’t for everyone, that’s why personally, Bruce Murdock oversees my investments.

Great presentation. Speeds are measured in Gigbaits per second and Terabits per second Tbps. MainOne design capacity is 1.28 Tbps and not 10 Terabytes as you specified. It was put into use July 2010. Glo1 cable was put into use 2011 a few months later with 2.5 Tbps design capacity.

Today on Equity, Kirsten Korosec is joined by J.P. Morgan’s Head of Startup Banking, Ashraf Hebela. Following the recent release of J.P. Morgan’s Startup Insights report, Kirsten wanted to dive into what it really takes to build a unicorn in 2024, and what parts of the startup ecosystem are seeing success beyond AI and Silicon Valley.

The pair discussed the changing landscape, from new startup hubs popping up in Seattle, Austin, and Miami to the resilience and passion required to thrive. Hebela also talked about the decreasing rate of unicorn creation since 2021 and what founders need to keep in mind today – including how ‘Founder Mode’ may do more harm than good.

Equity is a show about the business of startups, where we unpack the numbers and nuance behind the headlines. New episodes drop at 7 a.m. PT every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
