    I will say that, regarding food donation, you need to be careful not to collapse local markets and agriculture.
    It should just be for emergencies.

    Coca Cola talking about giving access to clean drinking water is funny though 🤣🤣 the thing with USAID is not as simple as it looks. A lot of countries banned USAID for a reason- because it is a tool for political manipulation and destabilization in a lot of countries. Not a single country requested Trump to reinstate USAID- because they all know the evils it brings with it.

      Tax corporations. Tax billionaires. The fact is, USAID helps the US by keeping problems overseas. For example, if war breaks out where there is not enough food, the global economy and the US will suffer. Overpopulation causes poverty and can collapse governments, keep the world safe and stable is good for EVERYONE, and is the best interest of US. That’s why US investment in overseas contraception is good for YOUR wallet.

    1. What would Social Security look like if we had been contributing .7% of our national budget to it since USAID was allocated that percentage?
    2. Were the ~50,000 contractors chosen based on merit or some other metric?

      It’s because the program seems like a force of good for everyone. There are many programs created that benefit everyone in a good way that were created to only help people.
      It seems incredible now because the social media platforms these days value hate and clout chasing; our culture has become one of being hurtful for the sake of being harmful.
