Ventura is a joke. The only good thing is stage manager which Windows 11 does better with multitasking.

Mounting your iPhone to the top of your laptop screen is pretty dumb tbf

that one yes, but the fact that you can use it as a webcam is pretty impressive

Stage Manager might be a great thing for iPads, but for Mac, i think they should rather improve the current ways that more or less already do the very same thing, instead of tacking on yet another half assed feature

    • arop3nnY

      June 7, 2022 at 11:20 pm

      like add native window snapping

    • Emil Secker

      June 8, 2022 at 12:14 pm

It’s not half assed lol, wait til it comes out and try it before you knock it

    • Emil Secker

      June 8, 2022 at 12:14 pm

@arop3nnY that’s already there. It’s called split view

    • arop3nnY

      June 8, 2022 at 12:36 pm

@Emil Secker split view is not the same as window snapping. I hate using full screen

    • Emil Secker

      June 8, 2022 at 1:17 pm

      @arop3nnY true

    • Johnny Puperze

      June 8, 2022 at 7:35 pm

@Emil Secker it is half assed. Even Apple knows this and ads this as an optional feature that can be swtiched off. it’s just an easy way to simply slap one new iOS feature that might work great over there on top of an OS that basically already does this (and more). if they seriously were trying to actually improve MacOS, these efforts were put into improving the Dock, Mission Control and Spaces. And of course some proper “modern” multi window management that other OSes are having for 20+ years now.

    • Lokesh G

      June 9, 2022 at 4:37 am

@arop3nnY you need not have to use it in full screen. Hover over full screen button and hold option, you would get what u r looking for.

    • Lokesh G

      June 9, 2022 at 4:40 am

@Johnny Puperze half assed is not exactly what you think it means. there’s nothing half baked about the implementation of stage manager. you expecting something else as feature doesn’t make it as half baked.

    • Sternkrieger

      June 9, 2022 at 5:06 am

I agree that they seriously need to rehaul the ancient dock, which hasn’t changed functionality since it was introduced decades ago. Stage manager is essentially another giant dock to the side that you can’t auto hide. The dock already does the same thing. I have been waiting forever for Apple to implement hovering/large window previews in the dock like Windows to make it infinitely more useful, but they refuse any change to the ancient dock.

    • arop3nnY

      June 9, 2022 at 5:21 am

@Lokesh G it still opens the apps in full screen…

    • Emil Secker

      June 9, 2022 at 12:15 pm

      @Johnny Puperze it’s really not

  8. Matt

    June 7, 2022 at 7:07 pm

It would be so nice if they would put the USB-C connectors on both sides of the Air. Don’t understand why they felt it was a good idea to put them both on the same side. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

    • Nicolas Silva A.

      June 7, 2022 at 8:29 pm

because they rarely hear the community, the only thing that actually surprised me is the comeback of the magsafe, but also, the touchbar is rumored to be back once again with the m2 pro 🤦‍♂️

    • Raymond D'Souza

      June 8, 2022 at 11:23 am

I believ eit is because they both use the same controller on the mainboard, whereas the pros have separate controllers on either side

Last year I had problemas with my mac and I told the te h guy to tell the company to be able to switch call from computer to iPhone….then this happened

  10. MS TK

    June 7, 2022 at 9:00 pm

Would be nice to use iPhone camera with iPad as another camera. I also would like to use my iPad/iPhone camera with other apps while screen recording when I’m making music. Or be able to record myself playing keyboard with iPhone while showing my screen on the iPad. It’s difficult trying to use a music app on a Mac without touch playing live. This is the reason I want to mostly stick to iPad and iPhone gigging. I already do this and the current continuity is good but just wish I had that little extra mentioned with multitasking between iPhone and iPad. I use an iMac at home with is where I can to the major work and backup my iPad/iPhone. I’ve made the switch to apple for my main devices. I just need some more of the functionality I had on PCs and android for creating.

Honestly Stage Manager isn’t implemented well. Just give us window snapping like on windows.

    • Emil Secker

      That’s already there. Split View

    • Dominica's Sound System

@Emil Secker not really the same. We want floating resizable windows that we can also snap

@Dominica’s Sound System not really sure how that would work

Why do we need stage manager when there’s nothing wrong with mission control? Now we’re taking a step backwards because you can’t really see the thumb males that are off to the side because they are skewed. What a stupid idea – to take a feature that works fine then break it and call it something else. 😤
