All these EVs look so good.

The Mercedes-Benz EQXX front-end looks like an Audi RS (of some kind).

yes…how quickly will local firefighters get training on car-related electric fires? being electrocuted and burned after crashing is not at the top of my bucket list

Even if we gave everyone in the country an EV, we don’t have the charging infrastructure to support it. We also don’t have the energy grid to support it. Our EV future is much farther away than we think.

    • imeaktsu7

      January 7, 2022 at 10:51 pm

So we should just give up on EVs and the power grid, right? Hydrogen is more efficient, right?

    • Christopher Alden

      January 7, 2022 at 11:49 pm

@imeaktsu7 Give up on EV, no but just not put all our eggs in one basket. There could be some breakthrough tech right around the corner that makes current tech obsolete. Just from a sales perspective, EV’s are ~4% of the total auto sales market. There’s probably a ceiling to that number that analysts are not taking into account. The ambitious numbers of 25%-35% annual EV sales by 2040 doesn’t really sound like everyone is driving an EV 20 years from now. Rather it sound like gas power is still here for a long long time. Car companies could be putting R&D dollars towards cleaner combustible gas engines, or synthetic fuels. Instead they’re jumping the shark for a very distant EV future.

      January 8, 2022 at 12:14 am

@Christopher Alden Euro 7 emission regulations are expensive, so expensive EVs are actually cheaper.

I’m so annoyed, broadcasting a video which reaches the the world and I hear people talking “miles”, “pounds” and “feet”, catch up America the whole rest of the world uses the metric system. So you should do so as well!
It’s being used, because it’s so much clearer and easier.

These are all so boring. There’s a lot of exciting things going on with inverted trikes, nevs, solar panel exteriors, modular vehicles, inductive charging…

This is the most boring take you could possibly have with EV tech. It’s yawntastic.

I think the point is not to look outside, but to enter the metaverse ( ╥ω╥ ) . . . then again car manufacturers will have the last laugh since we’re headed for 5g- 6g or whatever is out by the concept’s release. So by then everything will be connected to this new world IOT system what not. Then again the world will be in such a mess by then that the rich kids who ride this tech will likely not want to see how the world is, so they will connect to the most plastic over-the-top pink fashioned surrealist twitch stream to watch other kids play whatever the heck is trending then. And then LeoDicap will see an asteroid. ლ(¯ロ¯”ლ)

Great video. Just one question. Where is all this extra electricity coming from? Hopefully not the current powers grid. That would be a disaster.

    • Carl Gunderson

      January 8, 2022 at 10:12 pm

Well, how else do you think the current EV’s are charging off of, in today’s world?

      The current powergrid…

    • Kenny Sherratt

      January 8, 2022 at 11:03 pm

@Carl Gunderson right now we have rolling blackouts due to insufficient power in the grid. A large portion of US power is from burning fossil fuel. Replacing 250 million gas vehicles for EV would collapse the system. I don’t think most folks understand how electricity is produced, stored, lost, etc. They just plug in the phone, and magic charges it. Should be fun to watch reactions when the lights go out.

    • Carl Gunderson

      January 8, 2022 at 11:17 pm

BMW’s IX Flow is terrible. No appeal with that fascia and their colour-changing idea is pathetic and useless.
Mercedes Benz Vision EQXX I do like a lot but also reminds me of a number of high end Chinese EV cars.
Chrysler/Stellantis Airflow quite surprising in a positive way.
