I will never grow attached to forests and jungles. I’ve watched too much of Green Inferno to be able to tell the red flags. Great speech. Would love to hear more.

17 🌍 The painting “Palisades” was created to fund a new park in Guatemala, highlighting the artist’s commitment to environmental causes.
36 🎨 The artist’s work, like “Understory,” involves extensive research, drawings, and paintings, taking about a year on average, serving as a form of environmental activism.
35 🦜 Specimens, like study skins of extinct birds, are genetic libraries of traits and contain valuable environmental data.
29 🌿 “Canopy” explores newly discovered species, emphasizing the potential risks associated with the novelty and rarity of wildlife.
08 🌐 The painting “Trade” delves into the black market trade of wildlife, highlighting challenges despite existing legal protections.
20 🌱 “Back” represents hope in nature’s resilience, featuring species once thought extinct but saved through conservation efforts.
17 🎨 The artist draws inspiration from Dutch still life masters, blending techniques and materials with modern science to capture a snapshot of biodiversity.
03 🖼 The paintings serve as environmental snapshots, communicating the state of biodiversity and the urgency of conservation efforts.
45 ⏰ The artist views their paintings as alarm clocks, reminding humanity of the extensive disruption of nature and the urgent need for action.
20 🌎 The artist emphasizes that humanity collectively determines the message carried by the paintings into the future, hoping for a call to action rather than a lament for lost biodiversity.
