This is another topic on smart phones that would be worth looking into is the following, although I have had a burner phone or two, I’ve never had a smart phone and I’ve been resisting getting one even though it’s getting harder due to banks, doctors using telemedicine, online payments, roadside assistance, etc., requiring the use of one. I’m 62 and live in the US, I’d like to do some traveling in my SUV but I worry about getting stranded or possibly worse.
I’m very tech savvy and have repaired laptops for friends and family and taught others how to us their phones and laptops, so learning how to use one isn’t the issue, it seems like we’re being forced into buying a smart phone is the issue.

@@duran9664 What the hell does your soapbox comment have to do with the issue I elaborated on??? It sounds like you had a shitty childhood and you’re projecting your parent’s mistakes. 🥱Have a nice day and please get help.

“Design a ‘cool’ phone without internet access.”

However, the internet access IS the “cool” factor.

What they need to design is a smartphone that is regulated by AI.

The AI would monitor and enforce restrictions based on the child’s age, maturity level, and parent’s level of comfort.

And if the child tries to access something inappropriate, the parent receives an alert.

And the phone would need to look EXACTLY like a normal smartphone so that the child is not bullied for having a “baby’s phone.”

      I agree with you 100%.

I would never buy such a controlling phone for my kids.

However, conservative parents will forever exist.
I merely was suggesting an idea to their tech problem.

“Design a really cool phone that every 12 year wants that doesn’t have internet on it…” There are many well-designed “dumb phones” and garakei Japanese flip that don’t have browser and app capabilities. Punkt and LightPhone are both very well-designed phones and they only have the bare essentials (phone, text, calculator, e-mail).

    🤢🤢🤮 So controlling🤢🤢🤮
Let ur kids face the ugliness of true life & learn from their own mistakes so early that they can grew faster. Give them ur advices & ur life experience stories, but never prevent them from making mistakes. Self-mistakes r what truly help us grow. Kids & teens will always lie to their controlling parents. Putting ur kids inside ur own bubble will make them so vulnerable in the future & hate u when they got older & unable to get speedy recovery from life challenges🤛
