Surface Pro 7 review: Hello, old friend 🧙
@izakshuvo8434

I’d love to see how it does when it hits the road. Specially when it hits an SUV the size of a tank.
@EarthCreature.

We all do. Its safety features are phenomenal in every simulation its been through.
@netscrooge
January 7, 2025 at 6:37 pm
The lighter weight is a little bit of a safety issue, but lots of people won’t mind. It’s SUPER safe compared to my motorcycle.

Solid review of the Aptera! It is great to see a driving, production intent model, with the new motor and full solar! Thanks! 🚗🌞

It weighs half of what a regular EV would,
and on top of that,
It weighs half of what a regular EV would !
@artsmith103

I wonder why he said 40 solar miles/day? Aptera has been denying that for almost a year….but they stand right next to him and don’t correct!
Did you all hear $40K? Remember when critics announced that at start of USCG? Remember your condescending insults? Back at you!! Do you think Aptera will be able to hold $50K?
@adimchionyenadum2962

Steve Fambro said they drove more than 20 miles today in Hermes only by the power of the sun. So, it works. First real world validation of the “no charge” engineering that Aptera developed. Congratulations, Aptera!
@mpetty9947

That’s what I wanted to hear! This is a gamechanger vehicle that will open up every mile in the country to us. That’s a first!

@@TheAllMightyGodofCodYou mean by every single person who sits in the passenger seat?
I mean, you could claim the UI is fake. And they could be sneaking out there and hooking it up to a charger in the middle of the night. But you are getting into conspiracy theory now.

Never have to charge , except when you live where the sun is always present…^^
@deplorablechump8758
January 7, 2025 at 5:57 pm
It works for sunny regions
@netscrooge
January 7, 2025 at 6:20 pm
It’s not just solar; it’s also much more efficient than other EVs. It saves on electricity everywhere, even places with little sunshine.

Potentially the next people’s car. Automotive history in the making right here. The recipe is ideal to repeat the legacy of the original VW beetle.
@Gazzapa57
January 7, 2025 at 6:44 pm
I can appreciate it for what it is but it’s not for me – doesn’t feel as safe as a regular car and frankly for $40k is expensive for what you get. A Chinese company will soon enough make something similar for less than half the price.
@theolich4384
January 7, 2025 at 7:02 pm
The Chinese make normal EVs that fit 5 for less than half of that. None willl bother with this SoCal-specific vanity project.

They need to allow 4 wheels for these light weight cars. It will make them safer
@richardryley3660
January 7, 2025 at 8:00 pm
The reviewer misspoke. The Aptera does not have narrower tires. It has three wheels, which reduces the size of the contact patch and thus the rolling resistance. The Aptera would lose range if it had four wheels.
A fourth wheel is possible on a larger model, but not if the Aptera fails to sell.
@bige8549
January 7, 2025 at 7:17 pm
Too bad it’s ugly. And I can get a new Model Y for $40K in my state, after all discounts. So, no.
@TheAllMightyGodofCod

CNET: this is the kind of crap that makes me hit unsubscribe.
Anyone who has the least amount of experience with solar panels knows you will charge this car period.
And if someone says otherwise, they clearly do not know what they are talking about.

Except I’m never, ever going to leave a vehicle like that parked outside. So, solar panels will never help me.
@alraguc
January 7, 2025 at 8:33 pm
Solar is a neat idea, but this vehicle is impractical. Two seater with little storage. How many people could use this?
