With the 12th Gen Intel model at 120Hz refresh, 60% brightness, bluetooth pairing on, and using the active pen, realistically you are looking at ~4 hours give or take.
I’d say that’s not too bad. But some people may find that lacking, which is why we have a market full of whole variety of 2-in-1 laptops.

Over the years, the Surface Pro lineup has _never_ been about long battery life. The premium price is more about justifying convenience you get from that size and form factor.

Who said Apple products were expensive???!

    • Daniel Rodriguez

      October 28, 2022 at 10:54 pm

The comparable iPad Pro in terms of size, starts at $1099, so higher than the SP9, and is $1,299 with cellular, tied with the SP9 with 5G. All these configs consider 128GB. If you adjust the capacity in most configs the iPad Pro is more expensive if you select the 12.9 inch which is the comparable model.

The Magic Keyboard and Magic Keyboard Folio are $299 and $249. The keyboard for the SP9 is $179.

The Apple Pencil is $129, Surface Pen $129. Tie here.

If you purchase the SP9 Keyboard + Pen as a bundle, $279, significant savings vs the iPad accesories.

Base iPad Pro with accesories – $1,527
      Base SP9 with accesories – $1,278

PS. Not arguing that the SP9 is cheap. That being said, there’s around 19.5% difference in cost in similar configs. That’s not a small amount.

    • Kerri

Expectations were high for the surface pro 9. No design change at all. Common it’s 2022 look at those ugly bezels. And they hae not improved the battery life.
The price is way to high for what it’s offering. Keyboard and pen 2 are good. Microsoft really needs to consider the price when launching these devices with the same body as last year.
