No mention of the fact the pro 7 is a massive downgrade in battery life compared to the Pro 6? It should have been the first thing talked about being that it’s such a massive compromise. This is a portable machine, this is their flagship machine, and they are essentially showing us that they built themselves into a corner and couldn’t bring more power while maintaining the long battery life of the Pro 6. There was no need to keep the USB A port. They should have just got rid of it to make the machine thinner and lighter, and the chunky bezel design should have been gone! Instead they put a useless single USB C port in with no thunderbolt support which is the only thing that makes that port worth it. What in the world were they thinking? They got the Pro 7 all wrong and it’s a major disappointment. All trusted reviews show it getting only 7 hours of battery life, which means in real world use when actually working in real software the machine probably can barely pull 5 hours. That’s called going totally backwards.

@Tom Byrnelook, not everyone is going to bring a portable USB C charger on the go, people want to use it “without” needing to recharge every 5 minutes

I want a laptop that is built on 5-nm-technology or lower, a 16-core processor with up to 4 gigahertz, uses 16-GB or more LPDDR5 SDRAM, and 1 terabyte of SSD.

Seriously … The Surface Pro # punches way above its weight. Of course you will want a type cover (one undeniable advantage its fully replaceable). The Pen while nice is certainly optional (I prefer to have one) . Regardless, what a Surface Pro offers cannot be experienced until you own one and use it daily. What people don’t get: Full power and portable, versatile in every config, no compromise that is until you own one. It completely replaced my laptop and is way better. There is a reason the Surface Pro still makes up about 75% of all surface devices sold/in use. Its that good. Perhaps the Neo can unseat it as it too is revolutionary.

I agree with you about how the surface can completely replace a laptop, but have you tried out the Galaxy Tab S6 yet? Everyone’s sleeping on it and it’s absolutely amazing. Plus, the pen is included. 😂 I love Surfaces, but this thing running Dex, and Android is giving my surface pro a run for its money

Tom Byrne In the UK it costs an extra £510 to get an extra 8gb RAM and 128gb ROM! No one in their right mind can call the SP7 value and though it works great for some, the price is a big downside and means so much of the competition becomes more interesting.
Wait for a deal is my advise.

Im curently using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, and although it doesn’t run Windows 10, Samsung Dex works flawlessly. I cheaped out, went to Amazon bought a good folio case, a bluetooth keyboard and that’s all I needed to get my work done. Oh yea, and its LTE and the pen came included. Ive always loved Surface pros but if you’re reading this and need to upgrade – try theTab S6! It does everything my surface did!

David Dawson If you are a pro you can need a real computer OS not phone OS. But for other usage why not, Samsung and Apple make nice tablette.

So the surface 7 is identical to the surface 6 except for the USB-C port (Still no thunderbolt). Hopefully it doesn’t have all the issues of the previous surfaces such as the notorious flickergate of the surface 4 or the battery issue with the surface 6 which the response from Microsoft was to release an update that throttled the CPU to 0.4GHz making it unusable and to this day still haven’t fixed. I think I’ll hold off until I can see proof that the tablet isn’t just another cosmetic attempt to seperate me from another two grand.

The reason why the keyboard and pen are not included in the box is pretty straight forward: of you have one from the previous surface pro 6 or even 5 if Im not mistaken they will work just fine and you will save some money. Sure they could just throw it in the box anyway and loose the money but that is just not good business for any company.

Loving my Surface Pro 7. The only thing is that I am pretty disturbed that this generation didn’t get a face-lift…… Literally. The back really doesn’t need to be touched. Can’t imagine what they would do with it anyhow but the front definitely should’ve had a bigger screen and razor thin bezels. Sure you could go for the Pro X but there’s some losses there. This really would’ve been the generation for slimmer bezels honestly. Especially since they’ve been gigantic for I don’t know…. 7 generations…lol…

I have two Surfaces and the main issue is, the screen is low on the table, so you are constantly looking down, really bad for your neck.
