this device actually focus’ the image as a reflection from the lens to the back of your eye (inside), so there is little to no real focus needed… it’s more of a “visual shift” of where you’re looking. The average person can’t even focus that closely on an object.

Screw Apple! My expensive photos I took while on a trip in China are still stuck to their damn iPod Nano. I personally feel they should either reimburse me or pay for the 3rd party software they know will work to get my photos off the iPod or fix iTunes back to the way it used to be when you could move photos back. Again Apple, I’m disappointed in your products, all of them (iPhone, Mac, iPod, earbuds). You focus so much on locking shit down that you heavily inconvenience the user. Also, why does it takes multi commands just to right click on your operating system??????

There are a number of ways to get your stuff back. Look up Louis Rossmans channel.

@Gundam 00 this was just a very poorly put together “review”. It does not even mention the “better” integration it has with *droid devices… and (typical) focus on the sheep of tech. If a “review” is going to be done, it should be done without bias.

North Smart Glasses shouldn’t even bother trying to make their stuff compatible with the overated Apple company!!!!!!! Android, Linux, Google, Windows for Life!!!!!!

Banal, unnecessary & unproductive. Who’s life is really that busy that they need calender updates beamed into their eye balls. Even more so specious messages. Reminds me of Walden, “We are in great haste to construct a magnetic telegraph from Maine to Texas; but Maine and Texas, it may be, have nothing important to communicate”. People who wear these probably have nothing useful to say. I love tech but smart glasses are stupid and the most blatant tech company grab for your unending attention to dominate your life.

Great for those like my dad who only has one arm, or construction workers, or people who bike/hike, or people who just want them.
As a developer these would be dope. For sure gonna make an integration with Ring or Wyze to instantly see what my camera sees without needing to pull out a phone. Real life Iron Man stuff. Plus I wear glasses…so adding a smart frame is not gonna cost me anything.

@legitmontrellthigpen Fair point regarding your dad, There was a video on here showing Amazon Alexa be a great help to someone with disability when paired with various appliances. But I still think its largely unnecessary for everyone else (The amazon adverts showing the dad locking himself in the garage, and calling through the house etc – well don’t be an idiot lol). If you can find a good way to use this hardware, great.

She sounds so bored that she even sighs at 2:16… Tells a lot about both the product and TC’s production quality… How about a nice smile? 🙂

tell’s little about the product, tells everything about the “reporter”… they clearly want to quit their job. :/

No wonder why we getting dumber, constantly distracted, zero focus, constantly rely on tech to do the smallest things. Please, tell me who needs these things ???!

I see many uses for the tech itself, but none of them for mass production and sales

0:51 In 2019 do we need to reference everything to Apple? Time to get over that company. There was no need to reference this tech to anything else, people know what it is by now.

What kind of review is this? It’s like a lame lazily edited ad

  12. Orbiter

    June 19, 2019 at 5:35 pm

That was very informative.. but it wasn’t a review at all. You didn’t talk about your experience or if they impacted you life for the better or if they did what they promised.

jesus I don’t want this information overload!

    • thecolor

      June 20, 2019 at 7:21 pm

isn’t info “overload” actually using the hand held “fully capable” screen?
This is dumbing it down… presenting/shifting the “typical” info humans regularly consume. If you want to interact with everything, then we’d grab the candy bar or plop ourselves in front of a desktop. 🙂

I can see where this “projection” is closest to Geordi La Forge’s glasses in Star Trek, less the loss of entire vision (on our part). 😉

Like others are saying, this isn’t a review at all but a 2 and half minute commercial for Focals.

Recently had a demo of these in Brooklyn. As a kicker I’ll say straight away these were not customised for me but the experience was truly awful. Besides the fact that if the glasses moved by even a millimeter I got three images overlapped, the worst part was the terrible quality of the text. Imagine a jpg image blown up and you get a ripply effect around the edge. Well that’s what the images looked like. I’ve used most smart glasses and have owned Glass for 3 years. These are by far and away the worst experience I’ve had and unless North up their act they won’t be around in a few years time. That said, I had a demo of Magic Leap while in New York too and that was equally as crap. Besides Glass, Vuzix Blade and Hololens are the only devices worth consideration….
