Imagine a pure gaming M1 Pro device

      December 1, 2021 at 11:32 pm

the day this exist and the day it gets a witcher 3 port I would buy it without blinking an eye, the only thing that has keep me away from reserving a Steam deck is that we don’t know yet how good it will perform, but with a m1 pro chip on a handheld device it would be a sure thing.

    • ZOOZ VOOV

      December 1, 2021 at 11:57 pm

M1 Pro size was massive it won’t fit in handheld plus will drain power less than hours .

    • GHOST LEGIT

      December 2, 2021 at 12:06 am

@Andrew 40- 60 fps 720 p medium settings. That’s how it will perform. If u mostly play singleplayer or non fps games the steam deck will be great.

    • Jeff Young

      December 2, 2021 at 1:05 am

I dream of an iPhone with a M1 pro… of course I also dream of a MacBook Pro M1 max with native pc gaming support. If that happened I’d sell my pc and convert

  7. M4rio21

Good idea but it’s too late to the market. Phones are already powerful enough with a mobile controller that you don’t need this. You need a faster than your phone mobile platform? Steam deck would be a better alternative.

  8. Kalif_Saladin

    December 1, 2021 at 11:51 pm

I just hope the consumer version doesnt look that ugly… Small Bezels pls!

  12. Jesus Vasquez

    December 2, 2021 at 12:09 am

That thing looks terrible, I like the design of the steam deck a whole lot better

  13. Jeremy Tanudtanud

    December 2, 2021 at 12:20 am

I just hope more mobile consoles come with support for console/pc games for mobile like halo, forza, god of war, and last of us etc. Basically portable like a switch but with higher resolution, game controller support and external hdmi for plugging into a TV, monitor, when gaming at home and games from the ps5, xbox series x and pc.

    • Jeff Young

      December 2, 2021 at 1:03 am

So basically your phone… just attach a Kishi and you have exactly that. My iPhone 13 pro max can do everything you just mentioned, (with exception to pluggin into a tv, I’ll just use the console or pc at that point), and I can play using 5G with basically zero latency issues most places.

    • Jeremy Tanudtanud

      December 2, 2021 at 1:07 am

I mean actually playing the games that I described by having an option to download the games and use the internal storage and play them on 5g or wifi without streaming.

  16. 山乇丂ᑎIᑕᕼOᒪ

    December 2, 2021 at 12:36 am

It seems like they just covered a Lenovo Legion phone in a controller shroud the camera lines up on the side and the speakers on the bezels probably use a sound chamber on either end.

  17. David M.

    December 2, 2021 at 12:37 am

Sure, low power is the future, but what is the total power draw of this thing? Is it much less than steam deck’s 15W? And if it is very low power, I’d rather just buy a phone with this chip and carry an attachable controller.

  18. linkin543210

    December 2, 2021 at 12:45 am

Wow I can now play candy crush with a controller at 120fps.

  24. iCmonsters

    December 2, 2021 at 1:19 am

this is a developer platform device, NOT intended for consumer.
That said, Use a 16:9 screen for goodness sake.

  25. MusiciansReflib

    December 2, 2021 at 1:23 am

Mobile Gaming and PC are still in vastly different leagues. They said the same BS when PS vita came out and all the games for it feel like Mobile games. This might be the next gen of mobile hardware, but it’s never going to compare to a recent Nvidia Ti card. When a gaming PC can fit in my hand, then I will believe you. Until then you are misleading people with this garbage.

  26. Lee Parker

    December 2, 2021 at 10:32 am

It’s android m8, you have the EXCACT same hardware in a half decent mobile phone, don’t get dupped, the steam deck has Xbox series X cpu!! (cut down) this is a mobile phone without the phone or detachable sticks, please don’t waste money, buy sticks for your phone m8

In the end its better to have a high end phone with a detachable controller

  30. SABlister

    December 2, 2021 at 12:39 pm

uh except it’s running android, not on a recent gpu or cpu, and incompatible with most games. But sure, if you think a crappy android phone with terrible ergonomics is dedicated gaming and not something like the steamdeck.

  31. NativeRambler

    December 2, 2021 at 2:08 pm

If in the future, mobile gaming can be comparable atleast gba level quality, then i will be happy. I already play Final Fantasy 1 on my phone, and i love it. Fortnite was kind of fun on iphone when they used to have it too. Touch controls do suck though

  32. Splendid D102

    • MInh Ha

      December 2, 2021 at 4:09 pm

It’s not even a PC based built. This is an android. Stop spreading rubbish before doing some research, please.

  33. John Abraham

    December 2, 2021 at 3:05 pm

Android game offerings are just so weak compared to PC or Switch. In this form factor I see no reason you’d want to go with Android over a PC like the Steam Deck.

  34. sd mods

    December 2, 2021 at 3:30 pm

Snapdragon has always been the premium choice for ARM and Android gaming and if you have ever slapped a heatsink and ran benchmarks on them, you will know that it completely eliminates throttling, unlocking sustained top frequency performance. That combined with a gaming dedicated cream of the crop custom ARM processor and Adreno GPU, this is no slouch.

I think they should make a different version where you can pop the top shell to put your phone in but still has the same exact features as this one SD card slot and what not then youvqouod have to download a app for it to work with your phone

  46. Nick Panda

    December 3, 2021 at 12:52 am

Looks really good has huge potential obviously apps just need to update for it and the price needs to be sweet hopefully they don’t mess that up I wouldn’t mind if they ditched the camera honestly or at least mad a version without a camera

  54. RealLifeTech

    December 3, 2021 at 10:57 am

it would have been great if you gave some specs of the chip (from CPU-Z or AIDA64) because Qualcomm has been very secretive about it but probably so do you have to be due to NDAs I guess?

  55. Cesar Varela

    December 3, 2021 at 12:31 pm

You would really need to want to game for you to go and spend tons of money on what is basically a phone with a built in controller instead of just buying a gaming controller for like $100 or less

  56. Busted Time

Thank you but I rather get the steam deck

  67. Juan David Trevilla

    December 4, 2021 at 9:02 am

This is an awesome concept for the future of mobile gaming but if they really want to make a portable “console” they should consider ditching the rounded corners that most phones have and go for a traditional square screen

  68. ajd2393

    December 4, 2021 at 10:11 am

Steam deck is going to put this in the dirt. A fancy device to play phone games doesn’t even sound all that appealing.

This doesn’t getting me excited to get one it’s like a cellphone whit kishi integrated besides steam deck that i can ply AAA games and store him whit out streaming other than that i guess it’s good another company’s start getting interested on the portable gaming industry

  80. Sean Godsell

    December 5, 2021 at 5:58 pm

Since it has a USB-C port that supports 4k to a TV and monitor, then most likely you will be able to pair other controllers to this Razer handheld device. Plus Qualcomm mentioned that you will be able to attach an AR(VR) headset or glasses as well to this device,

You mean the future of the Xbox portable we wanted as a kidd…a Xbox controller and a phone…..gluwed toghtehr
IT has no charging port tho…..still….maybe this is the PSP 3004 that we sold because of kotor on the tablet and always regretted and now finally can replace so that we never have to rethink Our LIFE playing GTA Chinatown Wars in the airplane…..OR maybe that’s the switch….but its about the android part….as long there is inbuult controller mapping 2

I wonder how well an ARM v9 SOC like this can emulate x64 given that Apple Silicon seems to do it pretty well. If it’s half decent that would be very very interesting as long as you have the freedom to install Linux. Steam OS 3.0 anyone?
