Pc vr needs a good pc to play pc vr . No different from Sony. Price is fine. It’s doesn’t look like wireless Potato Vision like quest.

Sick of people griping over the cord, acting like it’s a ball and chain.

I think the comparison saying “it’s expensive” because you also need a PS5… well you also need a CAPABLE PC to run VR at 90/120 fps. Which alone ic you don’t have it would net you around 1000-1200$ which is… exactly how much you need for PS5+PSVR2.

This review said that there are less expensive VR options for PCVR, really?? I already owns a slightly outdated, but moderately powerful gaming PC, but I also bought the PS5 and I think the PSVR 2 is by far my best value option. If there is a better PCVR that matches this price-quality ratio out there somewhere it has definitely been kept well hidden from the public because I have definitely never heard of it lol

Brought the first one to many wires so never used it much. Really looking forward to this on as just one wire and better quality hopefully 👍🏻

Responding to the comment toward the end of the video…..ummmm….you can move around when tethered. Most of us don’t trip on the wire despite not standing in place. It’s very easy to adapt to one thin wire which I’d rather have versus an uncomfortable face heavy headset.

    February 17, 2023 at 4:45 pm

If you’re going to count the PS5 as a cost into the headset. You need to count the $1000 PC required for a comparable PC vr headset

I don’t mind the cable if it gives me better graphics and no more screen door effect. That’s what I didn’t like from the VR1. I’m excited for this one.

I wonder if it’ll have issues with the cable getting loose on the headset, like with the 1st psvr head set.

    February 17, 2023 at 7:29 pm

Dude this is so weird. People complain about the price point, and that you could get a cheaper headset that you plug into your computer. Completely failing to mention the cost of the components needed to run VR on a PC and have an enjoyable experience. That $400/$500 headset suddenly turns into well over $1500 when you consider the price of the Computer you’d need to get. Secondly, that would also be a wired experience. So you would be paying well over £1500 for a wired PCVR experience all because the actual headset costs a little bit less than wired console VR headset, despite the console and the VR overall being less than a PCVR experience. Its just not hard to do the math.

He says “would I buy this?” Then fails to answer 😄
Not that his answer would change my mind anyway.
He also failed to mention that you need a very expensive PC to play VR on PC. Yes you can buy cheaper VR headsets but you end up paying less to play VR on the PS5.

    February 17, 2023 at 9:25 pm

Dude was testing the headset and thought to himself, why just cover the upper half of my face, when I can put a mask on also. This most certainly the safest review on youtube.

  22. Ben 6745

    February 17, 2023 at 10:39 pm

I personally don’t believe it’s justified to say a negative of the psvr2 is the tethered cable. At the end of the day, the reason why its the best VR experience out there is due to that cable. It allows it show the quality graphics. It’s like moaning about new shoes because they have laces, yes it may be a bit annoying when you put it on, but once you have you will barely notice it. That’s my opinion anyway

It’s really dumb that people keep comparing this headset to the Quest 2. I understand that the Quest is probably the leader in sales, but its like comparing a Switch to a PS5 in terms of performance. This headset needs to be compared to the Valve Index and Vive Pro 2.

  26. Arcadian

    February 18, 2023 at 2:45 am

Re: 3:30 – couldn’t you use a DualSense to play PS5 games with the headset? I don’t see why not, considering it all runs through the PS5.

  27. Lachlan Brown

    February 18, 2023 at 3:02 am

If they manage to get Valve to put Half Life Alyx on this it would be an instant buy for me. I’ve never owned any VR gear before. People complain about the price but for the technology it includes I think it is very reasonable.

  28. The Official Channel

I think they should have made a space where the wire plugs in where a Wireless Dongle can be placed in the future once the wireless tech gets there with no Lag

I’ve been a quest user for a long while now and I’m excited to jump back to PSVR. Meta quit supporting the machine with software from all the developers have gobbled up.

    February 18, 2023 at 6:22 am

8:25 There is no way a PC that is under or at a thousand dollars will do PCVR well. To run PCVR well with no issues with performance you’ll need a 3080 and a Ryzen 7 or equivalent Intel CPU and the quest 2 is the cheapest PCVR headset so $399 for the HMD and $1500-1700 bucks for a PC capable of what Sony is offering for roughly $1100. Valve Index set up is $999 alone and you’ll still need that $1500 PC to push it. Then there are VR games, lots of them suck and VR is a sea of one and two man development teams, Sonys studios will make great VR games because they have Sonys money behind it who as a company many times in the past has said they believe in VRs future. I’d sell my Quest if I hadn’t spent so much money in their Ecosystem. Stand alone is great don’t get me wrong, but it’s gotten really boring.

  31. Blind Chuck

    February 18, 2023 at 6:54 am

Quest 2 is like the Atari 2600, but not as good. The lenses and graphics aren’t impressive at all. The Quest pro has better lenses but the constant tracking problems on the expensive yet garbage controllers and the actual units lack of ability to charge while connected make it not worth it. I swear I’ve bought all the cables that claim to charge it while plugged into pc with additional power cables and NONE of them worth. Give it 6 more months. So realistically, this is PlayStations last chance to make VR good or the demand, much like 3d movies, will fade quickly.

  32. Blind Chuck

    February 18, 2023 at 6:59 am

Also, the cable is no problem. Everyone butchered about having a cable but 98% of people never even walk around with it on. If you really want to walk, just buy the kiwi ceiling clips as they’re easy and cheap. My PSVR2 systems come this Wednesday. If anyone needs one I’ll sell them the new spare I have coming, just contact me on here.

  34. David Hujik

    February 18, 2023 at 8:46 am

I love when people say it’s to expensive but psvr2 has 4k and meta doesn’t. You still need a decently high end PC.

  35. Rudy Bertazzo

    February 18, 2023 at 10:52 am

For OLED displays at that resolution and eye tracking with foveated rendering, 550$ is a steal.

  36. peter mulder

    February 18, 2023 at 12:06 pm

I’m a psvr owner for years and my total review score is about a 7.2

    Immersion 9
    Fun 8
    Image quality 7
    Build quality 8
    Controllers 6
    Games 7
    Set up 6

Psvr2 improved on a lotvof these features.

This is what I expect from the new headset the Psvr2

    Immersion 9
    Fun 8
    Image quality 9
    Build quality 8
    Controllers 8
    Games 8
    Set up 9

    Total review score 8.4

If I look at these numbers just from my gut feeling it feels pretty accurate to me.

It feels like a big step up and worth the price.

    What are your score numbers??

  41. sarah al-hwail

    February 18, 2023 at 7:12 pm

I preordered this in December . The thing with pcvr is you need a special computer to run it . I bought a gaming desktop with a rtx 3070 which is a midrange graphics card which cost around 1500$ plus whatever headset you use. I use the quest 2 but there are better equipped headsets out there but cost around 1,000 dollars . So 1,900-2,500$ vs 1,050$ for a ps5-psvr2 . The psvr2 is more reasonably priced.

    • MisterUrbanWorld

      February 18, 2023 at 10:07 pm

I purchased my ps5 specifically for psvr 2. The digital version paired with this headset is the cheapest way to enter high quality VR Gaming. This and my Quest VR headset will coexist. Quest will be using for social apps, and psvr2 will be used for better games graphically. As far as PC Vr is concerned, it’s cool & all, but I prefer the easier method with consoles, just plug in cable, and jump right into the game, plus they’ll be better optimized.

  46. MisterUrbanWorld

    February 18, 2023 at 10:03 pm

I must disagree with what he says towards the end about “waiting”. This is the cheapest way to get into top tier VR gaming. When it comes to PC you have to buy a rig that cost $1,500-$3,000 to match this quality. Playstation 5 digital version is $400, and the headset is $549. This is the cheapest price for VR gaming period.

  51. Woosley

    February 19, 2023 at 2:46 am

I just don’t understand why journalists keep bringing up the “total cost” of PSVR2 and the PS5 together as if a good PCVR setup also wouldn’t need both a capable PC and then the VR-set. They keep comparing it to Oculus Quest and other standalone headsets which is just weird since they belong to a different product category altogether.

It’s kinda like if the Rift and Vive would have been scolded for their price and need for a PC to run the games in comparison to Samsung Gear VR and such standalone headsets that you put your phone into back in the day.

  52. J H

    February 19, 2023 at 5:36 am

I am the target customer for this headset but after using lens inserts on quest I can’t go back to wearing my glasses under the headset. Also there’s only call of the mountain and gt7 that look like system sellers to me, and that’s not enough to justify the headset. I guess we will see if Sony really does support this peripheral with games and put vr games on their gamepass sub.

  53. JonnyTech

Looking forward to more AAA game experiences 🤞🏾

  54. Why You Hatin?

    February 19, 2023 at 8:49 am

Vr has always been pricey. If you want the kind of experience the PSVR2 offers, you’re gonna need a fairly high end gaming pc which is likely to cost +$1000 plus a half decent headset will also run you upwards of $600. I think this playstation solution is very moderately priced for what you’re getting. The only thing is console gamers aren’t typically used to spending the kind of money on a gaming experience that PC gamers are used to spending, which has blown the price up into a massive talking point. The oculus quest pro is $1500 and no body seems to be bothered by that at all 🤷🏼‍♂️

So many little nitpicks and slight digs towards the psvr2 in this, his tone is is also showing me the dudes biased. It’s like he wants to hate it and for it to fail but he can’t because it’s a great headset. A few other so called “journalists” have been like this. They need to grow tf up.
