Other companies will bring both hardware and software changes but Reviews will favour Appleā€™s Gimmicks. Pixel is the most helpful phone one can own.

What hardware did they add apart from slightly changing the camera and cpu, exactly like Apple did..?

@Nothing Apple subtract Physical SIM in US and didnā€™t add any hardware. Apart from Normal chip, camera and battery downgrade. Yes, I agree Applies making good on software by copying lots of Android in a good way

So the addition of the satcom capabilities werenā€™t an addition? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

@SD OMAR So, Apple made their back-glass removable so it will be easier and cheaper to repair, redid the whole camera system, upped from 12mp to 48mp and added photonic engine pipeline and also the obviously new dynamic island.

They also upgraded to A16 Bionic when their chips were already far superior to everyone else.

Other manfuacturers will definitely also switch to e-sim since it makes sense, they will all follow

Those are more hardware changes than Google.

Disappointed in pixel 7. Camera is the only difference. & If u donā€™t care much about that, then itā€™s the same more or less. In IND itā€™s at 735$ šŸ‘ŽšŸ»& pro is 1035$ šŸ‘ŽšŸ»

Thank you for actually comparing the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 7 in terms of size.

I just made that upgrade and Iā€™m glad to see itā€™s noticeably smaller.

Is the phone actually going to work this time or just have a bunch of bugs like the last iteration? The 6 Pro was possibly the worst phone Iā€™ve owned in recent times

I donā€™t see many reasons to upgrade my 6 at all. I would love to see a 8 pro have a flat screen. The only reason I donā€™t get a pro phone is that dumb, no reason to have curvy display.

There have several major updates to this phone on the inside and from a software functionality perspective yet the title that these twinks at CNET put is ā€œcamera barā€ šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Thereā€™s is so many much new things in the software department, the new Ultra wide and 5x optical zoom lense, the cinematic video blur, 2x optical crop, improved zoom, improved video and stabilization, now allows to shoot 4k60 in all lenses and change between the lenses mid recording, the G2 processor, the pixel is now more secure, improved fingerprint sensor.

This is a lot for to consider a must upgrade.

Iā€™m still on the Galaxy S20 and yeah these features all look great. That and of course the overall Pixel software experience (when thereā€™s no bugs, unlike when the Pixel 6 launched). Iā€™m seriously considering getting the new Pixel, only downside seems that you need to get the bigger phone to have the telephoto lens which sucks IMO. Will have to get them both in hand to decide if the Pro is too big or not. Also, based on the leaked benchmarks it seems the Tensor G2 is lagging behind the Snapdragon chipā€¦ anyway weā€™ll have to see the actual benchmarks once it releases.

Iā€™m so sick of big phones. Skipping Pixel again this year. Hoping theyā€™ll go back to Pixel 8 and 8 XL, both with top specs, not missing cameras or screen frame rate.

Iā€™m curious if the battery life will be better on the 7 Pro. I have the 6 Pro currently and the battery life is pretty bad for a relatively new phone. Its been my main complaint on the phone since I got it and I would definitely consider getting the 7 Pro for this issue alone.

Iā€™m curious how hard you run your phone. I havenā€™t plugged my phone in since 9am (13.5 hours ago) and I use my phone pretty regularly and even had a movie and youtube videos going periodically throughout the day. Pixel 6 still at 38%

    • Zelo

      October 7, 2022 at 3:47 am

@Dylan Noack It depends on the day. During normal use (just checking text or social media) Id be at about the same battery life as you. But iā€™m speaking on when Iā€™m at an all day event or something and I want to record or take pictures the phone literally will be dead or near dead within 4 hours. It gets super hot and drains wayyy to quick especially in comparison to my friend who has a Galaxy S22 Ultra using it just as much as me and still has more than half his battery.

Not one of these early reviews talks ANYTHING about the CELLULAR PHONE part of the phone ! How is the reception, does it drop calls, is the call clarity any good, can people hear you clearly, does WiFi calling work well on the phone.
Come on, we all know it has a Camera and all the specks that have been published ad nauseumā€¦

The Verge and CNET are uninspired, unoriginal organizations who have completely faltered with the advent of techtubers who have more original content. Both Hands-On videos from these two are ā€˜itā€™s barely differentā€™.

iPhones will always inspire envy. iOS users tend to possess classier aesthetic and value privacy/safety more than android users, in short theyā€™re richer and more civilized (oversimplification I know).

Funny how plain and simple truth is.
