Full STOP! Decades ago …. fifty years maybe, EV with lead acid batteries would add an axle ….like a cement mixer truck… to carry batteries.
Simply put the extra batteries in a trailer to add range to the tow vehicle OR to use energy when your parked. SAVE the thousands of $$$$ and weight of motors and controllers for motors in a trailer that DUPLICATE the tech in your tow vehicle. Think people!

Hmmmm I’m guessing they overlooked how to skirt this thing…. for a 109k you aren’t going to be drilling snap holes that’s for sure….

Quickly run into range anxiety? Didn’t the results of the F150 basically show it’s incapable of towing things over distance unless you maintain a speed of 45-50mph?

And even at those speeds the range was poor.

Towing with an EV isn’t really a thing. What are you looking at … hundreds of potential customers out of 300 million people?

and then TFLEV did a test with the Silverado and found it quite workable at excessive speeds too.

This is similar to the Lightship L1 travel trailer. Both use EV technology and solar.

Airstream is developing one as well. It could be cheaper since it’s smaller.

It’s actually a good deal in comparison to an AirStream. Probably about the same price and a lot more perks.

This makes being a rich homeless person sound good, if only it could take care of the waste too. Best bit you’d be raising properly levels for the ghetto $1 mil+ homes you park next to not bring them down… Lol…

The same price as the LightShip but smaller, less elegant, and the EV assist doesn’t completely cover its weight when being pulled like the LightShip does? This is a $50,000 unit, not $100,000.

    • Ppalslsjdudysuw

      October 20, 2023 at 11:16 am

50k???? You clearly have never designed or conceived a luxury product in your life lmao. Literally cars and trucks are struggling to be 50k…….. you think this huge luxury RV should cost the same? You’re out of your mind. I agree lightship is better, but they are both extremely deserving of the price point

I want a private Zoox car for every day, that will drive itself to a warehouse to be outfitted when I want to go camping and park itself in my driveway ready for the morning.

  28. Shane T

    October 19, 2023 at 11:37 pm

The tech is cool, but with modern backup cameras hitching is easy. Plus the trailer is really expensive, add in an expert EV and it nakes way more sense to get a normal luxury travel trailer and a diesel pickup truck where range anxiety doesn’t exist, itll cost tens of thousands less per unit, and tow way more with a diesel. Its cool but impractical.

  29. KOI Pond

If hitching and backing are that difficult maybe a trailer is not for you. Plus crazy expensive. We have an Escape19 fiberglass trailer which tows just fine behind my ICE tow vehicle and I have never had “range anxiety” during our routine 500 mile travel days. All for 1/3 the cost!!

    • danny

      October 20, 2023 at 1:02 am

that’s elitist. why shouldn’t as many people as possible have accessibility options when it comes to camping and using a trailer?

    • KOI Pond

      October 20, 2023 at 1:09 am

@danny Elitist? What’s elitist is the crazy price. Almost the price of a home in parts of some states.

  39. Mihai Kulcsar

    October 20, 2023 at 12:51 pm

$109k starting price? For a small trailer?
What problems did they even solve? Hitching up and range is not on my major problems list. I got an RV this year. I spent $80k or so, got a used RAM 2500 and a 32′ 5th wheel. My main concerns are roof leaks, sewer and grey tank issues, storage. I don’t have a huge driveway to park something like that next to my house. That whole maneuvering thing, I wonder how that small wheel would do on dirt and gravel campsites. From my point of view it’s a nice shiny toy that is too expensive.

I’m a full time RVer and would love it but I need more details about the interior, weight, water capacity, and storage capacity first. Does it come in a toy hauler? Starting at $109,000 isn’t terrible but it’s pricey like an Airstream so it better be built solidly. Oh and who can service it?

    • FartDonkey

      October 20, 2023 at 8:54 pm

Airstream is made by Thor now, they were bought out a few years ago. They are complete garbage now like every other camper
