Ended up getting an $900 discount on the s9 ultra 512gb model. Trade in promotion, student discount and promo code 😅

Can anyone please confirm if APTX HD Bluetooth audio codec is available on any of the Tab S9 series?

    • Eduard

      July 31, 2023 at 6:23 pm

Not 100% sure, but I think they don’t. Samsung devices don’t support aptx, and I don’t think this one will be an exception

Samsung just needs 3 things to be an ipad killer
    1. Apps
    2. Apps
    3. Apps

      don’t forget the M1 SoC

    • PS

      July 31, 2023 at 6:50 pm

They will never have the developer support unfortunately. Let alone secured apps as it uses open system so financial apps are not secured that some many banks dont even have android apps or have given up on it

    • PS

      July 31, 2023 at 6:51 pm

But for some, android tablets are great. The problem is the price…it’s overpriced. It’s not an Apple product

I’m a Android user and i have a ipad that don’t have to many up dates when it come to Dj Apps or games. Samsung galaxy tab s9 kill ipad pro😂

0:32 That’s literally not true. The Tab S6 had a premium screen in smallest 6 screen size.

why would anyone choose this over a premium laptop ?

Too bad it runs Android and far too expensive for an also-ran product. My next tablet will be the iPad Air with the M1 chip. Basically, It will be the same speed as my desktop M1 Mac Mini while running slimmer, more nimble iPad OS Apps…that is just incredible to think about.

    • Goobfilm cast

      July 31, 2023 at 8:45 pm

@ljacobs357 but it’s not iOS….doesn’t have the huge App Library or enough security and privacy features and runs sluggishly on entry level devices.

    • Goobfilm cast

      July 31, 2023 at 8:51 pm

@Blue Planet Earth sure….. but you’re paying for a great display on a device that will be gathering dust in your junk drawer or hall closet in less than two years. Samsung wants to get out of the low margin, low profit (for them) tablet market but they know they can’t completely surrender it to Apple. This thing is basically ONE MODEL with identical features with the exception of screen size. I bet a tear down will reveal identical internals as well with no change in battery size.

Ordered an S9 with keyboard case, along with Galaxy 6 Classic watch. I tried using ipads, but couldnt do the multitasking like Samsung. I do agree that it would be nice if all apps worked the same on all Android tablets. Drag and drop issues are the biggest problem for me. Some apps do it, and some dont.

  12. Life Downunder

    July 31, 2023 at 6:48 pm

Samsung has taken big leaps in the tablet market. But Apple continues to edge them out in hardware and software. In hardware, the M2 chip and maybe M3. In software. Was hoping for Samsung to add Thunderbolt 4 which IPAD Pro’s have. Samsung continues to rely on Third Party sofware which Apple does not need out-of-the box. Apple excels in creating Software that is optimized for their hardware. In IPADOS 17, PDFs do not need Adobe to fill-in documents and adds various features that moves IPAD to a laptop replacement. Plus, Apple continues to update their older models for many years.

    • Life Downunder

      July 31, 2023 at 7:36 pm

@fidelis itor Most Desktop apps are now on IPAD. So what waste are you saying? . The only software not on IPADS is coding.

    • Helter Skelzer

      July 31, 2023 at 7:57 pm

@MrSpock888 ipad is still bad for multitasking in all honesty

    • Serox M.

      July 31, 2023 at 8:44 pm

I own both and Android + One UI is better than that limited iPadOS, which is why I buy the Tab S7 and S8 now, because of freedom, versatily, being able to do what I want. The Tabs feel like a mini PC. The multitasking on the Galaxy Tab S is on another level too, where in the iPads is so limited and disappointing. I wish my iPads were just as good at multitasking, since it’s what I use every day in my Tab, 3-4+ apps opened at the same time. There’s many things that iPadOS controls and do not let you do, you live like Apple tells you to, not like you want :/

You literally can fill in PDF’s/documents from Samsung Notes! 😂 Not to tell there are more apps out there for that, but not needed when you already have it installed and better.

Also, Samsung now updates their tablets for 5 years. Not 2 or 3 like years ago. After those 5 years you can still use it for a few more years. But I upgrade like every 3 or 4 years anyway.

    1. apple didn’t release new tablets this year because they are already leaps about bounds above these Samsung tablets. They already have M2 processors. Apple also has the advantage of developers not being lazy and actually making a dedicated tablet app that takes advantage of the Proc and screen size where 99% of all android tablet apps are just blown up phone apps.
while these are nice tablets, don’t start your video throwing shade at apple for not releasing products because they already destroy these tablets in everything except awkward length that feels bad in the hand.

How do you not mention 1 of the most important things on these tablets and ALL mobile devices tbh, which is the STORAGE, which is the support of microSD card! Something us who care about and use a lot of STORAGE need! It’s a life saver for me, since I only buy the 256GB version and have like 300GB used only on my SD card, with thousands of pictures, videos, music, documents, etc. Without the SD card I wouldn’t be able to live with it, unless I bought a super expensive 1TB tablet… 512GB SD card = $40.

2:24 “I didn’t realize that it had an under display fingerprint sensor” as Samsung has had them in their tablets for like 5 years now. Followed by the comment later at 2:52 saying that he wished all Android tablets all had the same UI. This guy sucks.

  26. Phoenix Dawn

    August 1, 2023 at 5:04 pm

Honestly, people should also realise the S-Pen is pretty much the best pen input device on these kinds of tablets. The feel of the nib is definitely superior to thicker and harder nib of Apple Pencil.

    • Muhammad Fadlan

      August 2, 2023 at 9:31 pm

This… Not only that, imo, physical button is superior than taps, especially for note taking.

  27. Phoenix Dawn

    August 1, 2023 at 5:10 pm

Also, like, other tablets not running exactly the same experience of Android is so irrelevant to what you are covering man. You are previewing Tab S9 and your con is “other Android tablets might run things differently”…like, okay, so?

  28. Chris Carlos

    August 1, 2023 at 5:20 pm

The dislike about “not all Android tablets are the same” is a very odd point. The experience of each tablet on Android is no different than a person buying an Android phone. Each phone is different in its own way. Even Google’s version of Android is no longer “stock” version, and modified in its own way. It’s the beauty of Android honestly, because not one size fits all, but if it does, then you’re looking for Apple products, because those limitations are why they are so widely used by many others. It just works for what Apple wants it to work for. Android tablets can do so much outside just download apps from the app store.

Outside general web and media uses, I’ve alsu used my Tab S7+ for:
    1. Work – Emails, web browsing,
    2. Programming
    3. Running Linux systems
    4. Playing games both Android and emulators
    5. Signing documents via the S pen or Drawing/Coloring
    6. Turning it into a notification display/HUB while charging on a dock (a feature of the newest Google tablet, that can also be on any Android)

Disagree with your comment about android not been the same on all androids tablets, apple dont allow all tablets to use all software, the thing as i look at android is like cars, all cars have 4 wheels(android) then the manufacturers put their own design on top ford, honda and so on, this is the same with manufacturers of android tablets all manufacturers put their own skins on top, making them unique, so you want an android tablet….then you buy the android device with the UI you want, IE if i own a google phone why wouldn’t i want a Google UI tabket, same with Samsung, was the same with sony once, and even honour with their tablets and phones, if they was all the same then their wouldn’t be any competition would they

Hi there, great video… i really need your intput on this…I curently own an ipad pro 12.9” M1 and love it but some things i really don’t like. Ipad os is still restrictive, watching 4KHDR mkv files are not playing well with the brightness levels. I’ve tried all apps. Brightness for some reason is restricted…. unless you use VLC and tweak it yourself wich is annoying. Also the aspect ratio 4:3 is annoying. Wanting to purchase the s9 ultra, the size difference is not that much and you get a much bigger screen with 16:10 ratio, great for movies. I’m not too sure apple would go that route. Do you know if the ultra brightness is like the ipad pro 12.9” mini led 1000/1600 nits max? Please help me, waiting to pull the trigger on the ultra. Thanks

I have the tab s6 bought it more than 3 years ago now it was an incredibly performing tablet when it was released and it still does perform great, its only lacking areas imo was 15w super charging which I consider slow since it has a large battery and 60 hz display. I am def gonna upgrade to the 11″ Tab S9 I have been waiting for it to come out super excited about it!
