You said that „there is nothing else really like this“, but KAT is on the market for a long time, has made a few models of their omni-treadmill already, and its games library is almost unlimited (everything for PCVR plus some games standalone). And it’s also much cheaper and works with any headset.

The KAT treadmill looks a lot less polished than the Omni One treadmill design. I have had experience with KAT and they are very uncomfortable. I hope Omni One treadmill feels better. It looks like it is more comfortable

virtuix has been around for a while too tbh. Since 2014 to be exact, and I think KAT is fairly new compared to it. They’ve been working on the tech since before and have only been polishing it since then.

Really like this idea. I am blind, and the closest I have ever had to gaming and exercising at the same time was the Tamagotchi Pikachu devices that you Cris strapped to me about while exercising. However, I always loved Pokémon because it’s integrated nature into the franchise, especially the shows… And I would love to see some kind of screen where you could have nature displayed on the screen even if it’s winter, you could have a nice spring scene to relax you… And of course, if you wanted to open a window during the spring or something like that you could. I love the endless possibilities and the unique inventiveness we have in our world.

I have the Kat Walk C2 and use it for my VR games. I love mine. I’ve been playing Batman Arkham Shadow on mine (via the Kat Nexus).

I get why VR treadmills aren’t for everyone, but they 100% turn VR games into exercise and make VR games much more immersive.

    EDITED:
I hope Omni One adds Brazen Blaze to their library. It’s works so well with the Kat Walk (via PCVR).

    EDITED AGAIN:
VR YouTuber/TikToker; Nikita Fajitaa has lost about 50lbs playing games like SkyrimVR and Fallout VR on her Kat Walk VR treadmill (also with diet).

  24. @TroyDanielStover

    November 5, 2024 at 8:17 pm

It looks incredibly expensive and way too heavy. You might as well step outside and walk the dogs—it’s pretty much the same thing. A VR treadmill? That’s absurd, especially with the radiation exposure to your eyes. And two of them? That’s definitely not going to be affordable. You’re better off going to the gym or taking a hike in California and enjoying the view. Plus, with someone that heavy, it could break.

Come on guys! For those saying this is Ready Player One like, please stop. This is not an Omnidirectional treadmill at all! It’s a glorified slip and SLIDEmill at best. There’s nothing natural about it either. If you are 5’10″+, your feet/legs are likely to step outside of the area. I have tried it and it’s not a great feeling. That all being said, it’s heading in right direction. We are still very early in the XR market, so there will be a future where this is way cheaper and better at being a treadmill. I have no doubt.
