No SD card slot 💳 means Nothing📱 to me 😮‍💨!
Who cares about the flashing lights 🚥? 🤔
Happy with my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra ➕ 512 Gb SD card slot 👍

The phone I’ll probably never see anyone in the person

I don’t really see the hype of this phone. Looks more like a 5 second gimmick that nobody will care for shortly after.

Plus no US release makes it a waste of time to advertise it to Americans, if you can’t even get it

the big 3 tech giants have the mobile market on lock. will be hard for any company to still the hearts of today’s consumers. Apple and Samsung are 1 and 2 while I’m sure Google is OK with being number 3

😳😂 Wow, I thought this was an iPhone 12! Talk about being a shameless iClone (1) saying Nothing! Even the lights on the back look like a simplified Apple logo. And no charger in the box, stop me if you’ve heard this one before. 🤣🤦‍♂

The camera I use most is the front camera for video calls, but I understand this does not have image stabilization on this camera module so that puts me off somewhat. I actually like the idea of the back light LEDs going off when you have notifications coming in, as I put my phone face down to protect the screen and I have poor hearing, partly to do with old age. Trouble is I’m imagining the scenario where I’m dining out, restaurant has nice subdued atmospheric lighting and my notifications are coming in fast and furious lighting up the restaurant ceiling above me, probably to the annoyance of adjacent diners. And if the phone takes off and there are several or more of us Nothing Phone 1 owners in the establishment, and they do get round to putting multi colored LEDs in the back! Well that would make for an interesting display wherever you might be. I can imagine Nissan Cube owners getting one of these. They !ove Quirky.

😄 so basically, NOTHING has nothing competitive to its rivals. The essential ph1 was a future of its time regarding to its screen and material and the sd835. This ontheotherhand, it’s just a light show.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. You’re comparing a flagship phone to a midrange phone. Of course, 13 Pro Max will be better.

P.S. nobody asked for your occupation

    • Prison Mike

      July 17, 2022 at 3:15 am

Also, judging from your previous posts, you seem to be commenting this on every video but with different phones. Posted “Keeping your Pixel 6 pro because it’s better” a few months ago and your Note 20 ultra? And now the 13 Pro Max? Keep lying to yourself, buddy. 🤡

Why are you comparing this phone to the S22 ultra and iPhone 13 pro? Makes no sense given the price point

  31. John Manalo

    July 16, 2022 at 1:01 pm

Meh. This Nothing phone will be officially sold in Southeast Asia for ~USD550 on the base model which is way way more expensive than the Motorola Edge 30 which officially retails here at around USD300 with guaranteed 2yrs OS updates / 3yrs security updates. Yes, it might not be as pretty as the iPhone clone but everything else is the same and even more with a pure stock Android + Moto gestures. Not to mention the screen and refresh rate is higher. How about the cameras? It’s pretty similar as well with 50MP main camera with OIS and 50MP ultrawide/macro combo.

If you are into the design by all means, get the Nothing Phone 1 but contrary to this review, it is nowhere a bang-for-the-buck purchase.

    • Prison Mike

      July 17, 2022 at 2:59 am

Everything else is the same and even more? Does Moto Edge 30 have wireless charging? Reverse wireless charging? IP rating? Corning Gorilla Glass 5? Bigger screen? Symmetrical bezels? 4500mah battery? What do you need 144hz refresh rate for? 144hz will kill that smaller battery of Moto Edge 30. 120hz is plenty enough. Nothing is offering more Android updates than Moto. Nothing is also stock Android with a few touches of Nothing’s features. Design is not only what makes the Nothing phone better than the Moto Edge 30, 🤡.

Seeing people here in comments comparing this phone to S22 Ultra and Iphone 13 Pro (Max) – you can kinda understand why those companies can actually sell same phones from year to year but also how prices of 1500 bucks became normal and acceptable…

  38. John Doe

    July 17, 2022 at 1:21 am

here are some thoughts, it has a mediocre camera, i looks like they wanted to make an iPhone, the rear LED strip is gimmicky and nothing depleate bettery faster than LED lights, And wireless charging is limited to 15 watts. Its a mid tier phone that one may regret getting once the novelty has worn off, which will come quick.

It so sad and satisfying to see android at is peak. It is so far behind iphone, almost unfair. This is a gimmic for people who cannot invest enough time and are fooled by the sticker price. Iphone is cheaper even with full a coverage over it’s life time and better device. See this video at 3:40-3:45 it cannot handle scrolling. And not because of the hardware. First iphone can do this, it is a lack of quality. So sad. So much waisted capital just to keep google in business. Well, thx for gmail to google and all android users.

Please do not suggest Samsung should stop making and including their own apps. I greatly prefer their take over just about anything Google does, particularly Internet, Gallery, and Notes.

Just delete or disable them if you want to use the Google variants instead.

I hope it does well. Looking forward to more iterations down the line. I know it’s a mid tier phone, but I’d want some camera upgrades and a more developed “nothing” software before is purchase

For people who don’t wanna use Google apps, they will also be bloatware for them. Don’t know why some people say them as useless things.
