The trigger is effortless. But certainly this is not for me with someone who owns a dog. The current V15 fills up in no time!

    • Don Bohn

      June 7, 2022 at 3:16 pm

Yeah I have the V15 Detect and a Golden Retriever. I definitely should’ve bought something larger.

    • Philip

      June 7, 2022 at 9:55 pm

@Don Bohn I have an Alaskan malamute. If it’s malting season it fills up in seconds.

It’s weird that they didn’t have ON/OFF buttons until now. Holding the trigger is exhausting.

      It’s not.

    • UTubechannel

      June 7, 2022 at 9:50 pm

It’s weird people think pulling a trigger is an issue. It’s literally NEVER occurred to me that holding the trigger would be a problem for people and I’ve been using these things for years and years. It’s effortless. To me having to push that new button to turn it on/ off is more hassle because of the position. The old style trigger is right where my finger is anyway.

Why can’t they make a corded model?

  4. THECIGARPROMOTERS

    June 7, 2022 at 3:17 pm

They need to make it with a battery pack, so you can have multiple batteries because, as we all know, it won’t last long on one charge.

    • perfectperfecto

      June 7, 2022 at 4:04 pm

change the way you vacuum. I clean intermittently, I don’t let things pile up until the last minute.

    • THECIGARPROMOTERS

      June 7, 2022 at 4:39 pm

@perfectperfecto has nothing to do with the way I vacuum and I don’t let things pile up. If I’m spending a large amount of money on a vacuum it should last more than 60 mins on a charge or at least have the option to swap out batteries, it’s all about getting value for your money not just buying into a brand. Think about that for a second. We all have different size houses and or apartments, it’s just pure common sense, and from a company standpoint it’s something else they can money off of.

    • Paul G

      June 7, 2022 at 4:44 pm

@THECIGARPROMOTERS Agree with you. Need to have additional battery pack that we can swap to continue with the cleaning work. It’s not about piling up work. It takes time

    • perfectperfecto

      June 7, 2022 at 4:52 pm

@THECIGARPROMOTERS then this product is clearly not for you. Think about that for a second.

Go buy an A/C Shark vacuum since that might be more affordable for you

The trigger on these units were BIG issue because of failure. I think the button was a strategic move, but not in the way you would first think.

  10. Paul Shakeshaft

    June 7, 2022 at 4:09 pm

Nothing but a total waste of money, the bin was always to small, this is a complete step backwards…… There is no problem with the v 15 apart from the bin being far to small,
And the largest version is to heavy…

  11. bam2xl14

    June 7, 2022 at 4:41 pm

At one point dyson was sooo much better than the other that it was worth paying that premium. Now there are some really great options @ half the price.

    • UTubechannel

      June 7, 2022 at 9:45 pm

      Which ones specifically?

  12. wan asma v

    June 7, 2022 at 4:46 pm

    1) The V12 slim with laser lights and detector is worth every penny I spend to own it.
    2) Damn expensive here but its really cool, effective and super clean as promised for my home with 3 adult persian cats.
    3) Worthy investment for clean environments

  13. diabeticdoode

    June 7, 2022 at 5:43 pm

Way overpriced for their quality. I have a v10, and v15. For the cost the performance is so underwhelming! My friend has a shark cordless that was a quarter of the cost and it’s leaps and bounds better

    • SimonLYW

      June 7, 2022 at 7:29 pm

This is an interesting comment. I have a shark because of comments like this, but I’m always underwhelmed by it’s performance and often wish I’d gone Dyson.

    • UTubechannel

      June 7, 2022 at 9:44 pm

@SimonLYW it seems people think it’s cool to crap on dyson. Sure they can be a bit plasticy but I don’t think there are many vacuums that can clean better or are as reliable as a dyson. I’ve heard great things about the Shark but if the suction is underwhelming you’d definitely be better off with dyson. suction is GREAT.

    • SimonLYW

      June 7, 2022 at 11:55 pm

      @UTubechannel I feel like it’s a universal price thing, “don’t get x thing for $$$ because you can get y for $ and it’s ‘just as good/better’ ”

    • SHREKonDVD

Umm-hmmmm Laser light, cause I frequently vacuum in patch blackness. Or when my EYES don’t actually work. And WHY does a vacuum need a screen?? So, now we’re making fit-bits for vacuum cleaners now?? My eyes work, I can SEE how much gunk in in the container. Basically an excuse to charge twice as much for the same vacuum.

  21. Mo Klonus

    June 7, 2022 at 8:52 pm

The trigger is to save battery. Now the bin is smaller, so you’ll be turning it off to empty more often, which saves the battery.

  22. AXX XXA

    June 7, 2022 at 10:32 pm

    • Dan

      June 8, 2022 at 2:18 am

V11 and newer have better pickup performance than their corded big ball machines because of the electrically motorised head

  25. Duane Locsin

    June 8, 2022 at 12:08 am

Why not develop a steam mop/cleaner & vacuum in one?

Do a round of vacuuming, empty container, steam/mop all with just one device.

    • Dan

      June 8, 2022 at 2:21 am

steam mops use a lot of power, and the existing offerings with mops from LG and Samsung are cold only and don’t break down the dirt. Not to mention that bagless vacuum filtration on cordfree vacuums don’t play nice with water. Better to have multiple products that do the job great than a jack of all trades, master of none

  26. CaLem

    June 8, 2022 at 1:39 am

this could not have come at a better time for me!

  27. Dan

    June 8, 2022 at 2:17 am

What this doesn’t note is that the V12 has the same max suction power as V10, but is lighter than V8. Mostly a good vacuum for small apartments or for older people who want good performance without heavy weight for the wrists or tiring out index finger

  28. Richard Joash Tan

    June 8, 2022 at 3:17 am

And I will buy the V12 Detect Slim Absolute and the Outsize Absolute anyway.

    • Tris, Princess & Splashy

      June 11, 2022 at 9:21 pm

I haven’t had that problem at all
My machines were bought second hand(without reciept too) and they still helped with warranty.
I paid $25 for a new battery and down the track $25 for a new “bin”. They taught me how to replace these parts. Express shipping so my machine was back in action after 2 days.

Unlike my Bissell Crosswave Pro where you have to take it to a registered Bissell repair person(only 2 in my state) and then it ends up still costing $350 for a battery replacement.

    I mean..
Bissell isn’t too bad of a choice either, considering the inflation of everything at a sudden rate.

*this comment may be helping others save on commission sorry.

Yes, I do actually vacuum my mattress every time. As a matter of fact, I literally just did that today also. Thought everyone else did too…🤔🤷🏾‍♂️ but in all seriousness, as a grown man, I found this to be very useful, & entertaining. Had me smiling so big at one point, my friend asked:

    _”…what’s so funny over there?…”_
I paused for a brief moment realizing what I was about to utter in that very awkward situation, & said:

    -_”..uh…a vacuum……”_

*(I didn’t know what else to follow up with that as it me just being so amused at the LED display & it’s contents shown, the V12 had built In; like a cave man seeing a car for the first time!☺) *

She looked at me with a confused expression & replied-
    _”A vacuum?….you’re laughing at a vacuum?….”
I was too embarrassed at this point to explain what exactly it was, given the nature of the situation at hand…so I started typing this……..

  54. M. S.

    June 10, 2022 at 4:20 am

Cool, most important thing though: being able to replace the battery!!
Still waiting for that to happen with the bigger models. Currently only available in one model I believe.

Another thing when the Dyson battery runs out breaks down you’re paying at least £80 for a battery 🪫 and you can’t really trust the generic batteries so battery life is key for me

  66. Vylkeer

    June 11, 2022 at 7:06 pm

Recently got a V15 Detect and it’s great, though one of the things I wish it featured is a trigger “safe” as I’m often hitting it involuntarily. I don’t like the on/off button solution as it’s a bit unpractical, you have more control with a trigger and it’s not tiring at all imo. The lack of a safe is the only defect I find with the trigger as not only is it annoying to keep activating the vacuum accidentally, but you also waste some battery life. Hopefully they’ll make one with such a solution.

    • Tris, Princess & Splashy

      June 11, 2022 at 9:28 pm

I believe they made one without the trigger to accommodate people with a load of grip strength or hand function.

I LOVE my V15 Detect. It’s so nasty and satisfying at the same time seeing all the fine dirt that a professional carpet cleaner and a Bissell left behind, and yet the Dyson was able to pick up. When the Detect senses dirtier areas, it automatically throttles up the power, and you can go over the dirty spots until you hear the vacuum throttle down.
