Come on Tasha, not a bad idea = good. Dont be IRS with double negatives.

There’s plenty of room between bad and good for some nuance.

They can’t sell what they don’t make. They are already at production capacity pushing hard to keep increasing and they sell everything.

Teslas are great cars but l dont want to hear about FSD until Tesla is willing to take liability for the vehicle while its operating on FSD. Anyone who has used the beta knows Level 5 is still many years away.

I agree, don’t promote until it’s a no brainer…keep it under the radar as it gets better.

The idea that the only reason somebody doesn’t want to buy an electric cars because they must not be informed his stupidity I’m highly informed to know all the pros and cons and I’ll tell you right now I’m not going to buy an electric car

    • OrdinaryHuman

      May 17, 2023 at 6:29 pm

Lol, you’re too misinformed to appreciate how wrong you are. Unless you’re 80 and won’t be around for very long.

  6. Javier Ruiz

    May 17, 2023 at 5:15 pm

Oh what exactly cons of my talking about that’ll make me not want to buy an electric car very simple they’re dangerous they explode their difficult to recharge their more expensive to buy to own to maintain you can’t recharge them everywhere some of the recharging stations are very expensive till I go on

    • OrdinaryHuman

      May 17, 2023 at 7:05 pm

@Javier Ruiz Tesla sells new cars, not used cars, just like every other auto manufacturer. Pointing at the second hand market as if it’s relevant is kind of silly. People who buy used cars don’t really matter in the discussion about new car prices because they’re not in that market.

Prices have changed since you last checked. A model 3 is $40k before tax credits. The average new car in the US is closer to $50k now. Yeah, it’s pretty bad.

I might be a rich person, depending on how you define that, but I drive a 2008 Kia Rio that was $7k about a decade ago. No idea what it’s worth now but it’s not much, lol.

    • Javier Ruiz

      May 17, 2023 at 7:20 pm

@OrdinaryHuman over 90% of car sales are and non new cars used cars please understand that you’re dismissing the 90% of the market

    • Javier Ruiz

      May 17, 2023 at 7:21 pm

@OrdinaryHuman but on a personal level you being rich or not relative to what I think riches no I think you’re probably pretty poor compared to me since I bought a new car of the year almost every year for the past 5 years I can afford a new car I can afford a car that cost more than $100,000 but the other 90% of people can’t and if you don’t get a car down below 20000 you will never make Evie’s commonplace that’s why I say rich people toys I have a couple of those toys right here and I feel like I paid too much warm but I like how well they drive I must admit the pickup is very fat but they are rich people toys

    • Javier Ruiz

      May 17, 2023 at 7:22 pm

@OrdinaryHuman and the market that you allege doesn’t matter the used car market that non new car market if you’re not looking at that secondary market then you don’t understand what you driving the market as one whose business at devices followed by many many people I will tell you if the new Eevee price does not get down dramatically like under 20,000 for a brand new car a car of equivalent value and quality like the model 3 then you will never see Eevee’s become commonplace

    • Javier Ruiz

      May 17, 2023 at 7:22 pm

@OrdinaryHuman I don’t have a problem with that like I said they’re rich people toys

  7. Javier Ruiz

    May 17, 2023 at 5:15 pm

There is some pros to it though driving electric car means it doesn’t smell less pollution ever so slightly less pollution and the other thing is you might have a neighbor or two that thinks you’re a good person because of it

  8. Douglas Allingham-Mills

    May 17, 2023 at 5:19 pm

Depreciation is not talked about, it’s incredibly expensive to own a tesla. True autonomous driving cars without a human ultimately responsible for the car on the general public highway won’t be available for a decade or more. It’s more Elon false advertising BS. Who hasn’t heard of tesla they are getting desperate to shift these now generic cars.

    • A R

      May 17, 2023 at 5:28 pm

I got the beta and it already pretty much drives itself but the safety protocols make me hold the wheel too much. I wouldn’t buy a car without fsd now.

    • Xopher

      May 17, 2023 at 6:14 pm

@A R Glad to see your opinion. From your view, does FSD feel like it will reach a tipping point? (I know it already has made great progress with recent updates)

    • Citizen Four

      May 17, 2023 at 6:19 pm

Yeah, higher insurance, more expensive registration and faster depreciation. Lots of other things besides MSRP that make it expensive.

    • OrdinaryHuman

      May 17, 2023 at 6:31 pm

Depreciation is going to be especially bad for anyone who isn’t buying an EV, because no one is going to want to buy their old ICE car once Teslas and other EVs are the norm. ICE vehicles already have one foot in the grave.

  9. D. P.

    May 17, 2023 at 5:23 pm

EVs are not cheaper or poor families would have them. Just stop the senseless gaslighting.

    • Mister Monsieur

      May 17, 2023 at 6:09 pm

@A R Insurance costs more for a tesla. Hight MSRP means higher registration costs. EVs are also heavier, meaning they chew up tires more quickly, and EVs tires also cost more. Y’all really don’t want to admit that the EV Utopia was made or meant for everyone.

    • Mister Monsieur

      May 17, 2023 at 6:10 pm

Thanks for speaking up for the truth. I’m getting tire having to be shout over all the Utopian lies.

    • OrdinaryHuman

      May 17, 2023 at 6:27 pm

Don’t pretend that poor people buy new ICE cars because they’re so affordable. They’re not. Poor families don’t buy new cars in general. They’re not in that market at all.

Wait a decade or two until EVs are not just the majority of new cars sold, but also the majority of older cars for sale, and the poors will also be mostly driving EVs (or renting robotaxis).

    • Mister Monsieur

      May 17, 2023 at 7:03 pm

@OrdinaryHuman Insurance, registration, tires, installing a home charging, etc. EVs are NOT affordable or accessible for most Americans, as most Americans live in apartments. Seriously, running the same bases was boring, now it’s aggravating. 🙄

    • OrdinaryHuman

      May 17, 2023 at 7:17 pm

@Mister Monsieur You can say the same thing about new cars in general, except replace cheaper home charging (most homes have electricity, right?) with more expensive trips to the gas station.

      >most Americans live in apartments

Wrong. Most Americans own their homes, and many apartment renters have access to garages as well. We’re not all living like rats packed in urban hellscapes like NYC. It’s hard to take an argument from someone seriously when basic facts elude them.

EVs aren’t accessible to most Americans only because most Americans don’t buy new cars, and EVs haven’t even taken over the new car market yet. Give it some time and eventually EVs will dominate both markets (first new, then used). Between Tesla and others ramping up production aggressively and the recession killing ICE sales, It’s going to happen sooner than most expect it to happen.

    • OrdinaryHuman

Yeah, this kind of misinformation from stupid people is why Tesla can benefit from advertising.

    • Mister Monsieur

      May 17, 2023 at 6:25 pm

@Ad astra Average across the whole product lineup, it’s $70k. All of y’all like to cheat by just counting the Model 3, which nobody really wants. Can’t be honest about anything! 🙄

Freedom of speech IS the hill for us to die on. Irrespective of what Musk’s positions are down the line, this one is respectable. Just might consider purchasing a Tesla next time I’m in the market to support the position he’s taking on speech. 🔥

    May 17, 2023 at 6:35 pm

It’s disgusting how industry “experts” keep hyping Tesla despite them promising and failing to deliver autonomous driving for the past 5 years.

Elon will keep hyping this until his grave without ever delivering his promises.

    May 17, 2023 at 6:53 pm

Greatest asset unlock in human history! Who’s drinking that Kool-Aid? Musk justifies this asset unlock on each car being able to be driven 5x more per day. Does that mean we will be able to shrink the car market by 80%?

  21. Lynda Korner

Tesla’s Board of Directors needs to do its job and replace Musk who, every day, further damages the goodwill associated with the trademark.

Slashing prices and spending money on advertising reveal just how precipitous the drop in demand for Tesla vehicles has been.
