Most people will still buy an IPhone. Motorola are terrible for Android updates and security updates.

It’s great work from Motorola. From the beginning of foldable phone , I wished to have such a user friendly cover screen on front. At last Motorola fulfilled the requirement. I hope future they will make options for calling also without opening the phone.

1:38 but, the phone controls Spotify being played on another speaker right? You’re not a tech person listening to music at home on a cell phone speaker … right!?

0:59 I had android for years. I finally switched to iOS 2 years ago. Not to have monthly software updates especially updates to the latest OS mean apps will be buggy and glitchy. This makes the whole android experience bad. I don’t understand why tech reviewers never address this issue. You make a nice video but android completely sucks because of this. From an x android fanboy.

    • Carl Brenda

      June 22, 2023 at 12:27 pm

Must depend on the devices you used. I have never had any of the issues you complained of on OnePlus, Samsung or Google phones I have had….

    • TheBigGoose Adventures

      June 22, 2023 at 12:36 pm

@Carl Brenda I had zero issues on iPhone 🙂 Glad your one plus isn’t having problems , but one thing to consider is the quality of the same apps on andriod vs iOS the experience is way better on iOS since developers focus on iOS more. It’s a much better experience. The only thing I miss about android is the customization of the Home Screen which is now sort of the same on iOS. When I had questions or concerns I can easily go to an Apple Store …. no andriod stores or call support like ios.

    • OW

      June 22, 2023 at 1:54 pm

@Carl Brendawell this also includes minimal security updates; Motorola is notoriously bad at giving like 2 years support. So this $1000 phone turns into a security risk after two years, forcing you to either, buy another phone with more security updates or risk that some sort of malware doesn’t affect certain Android OS updates and needs a hot fix patch. Could be worse tho, you could be Sony or ASUS and charge $1500+ for a phone and give only 1 year of OS support

    • OW

      June 22, 2023 at 1:55 pm

Well most consumers care about physical appearances, easy to gloss over those finer details if the masses are stuck on that shiny new object 😅

    • Muhammad Bin American

      June 22, 2023 at 7:04 pm

At this point its all about choice and convenience. They all have their pros and cons. Also true that they all have their fair share bugs and glitches and that includes the mighty Apple. In fact I am quite surprised about the weird bugs I hear about IOS in recent years. As for security its my understanding that Google App Services provides an extra layer of security for Android phones. Its why lots of older Android phones are still in use today even though they stopped receiving updates many years ago. Overall though for me I cannot trade the freedom that comes with using Android for anything and I say so as someone that recognize that Apple is the undisputed industry leader.

  12. Theo Vaughn

    June 22, 2023 at 11:36 am

Don’t call it a come back. Flip phones done been back! Dare I say, for years.

I’ve had a Flip 3 since it dropped and it’s not only great, it’s my favorite phone EVER.

No more slab o glass sliding out of my pockets, less accidental touches, and it CLOSES that gd screen so I can at least pretend I haven’t strapped a digital leash on myself.

The only lacking feature (from ALL phones now) is the lack of SD card slot, but if course that’s bc these scumbag corps can charge us for cloud storage instead. Gotta keep that hand in yo pocket, just like the pharmas do.

Love what I see about the Razer but software support is a deal breaker. Hopefully moto will change software policy.

    • PSYCHO

      June 22, 2023 at 6:11 pm

Razr is getting 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates.

That may not be as good as Samsung but most people upgrade their phone every 2 or 3 years anyways.

    • Aaron

      June 22, 2023 at 6:52 pm

@PSYCHOGoogle offers 5 years, so this is bleak for people who keep there phones until they break.

      Buy extended warranty.

If you can afford a $1,000 phone, you can afford to add extended warranty for peace of mind.

Any Motorola / Lenovo phones or tablets are dead on arrival due to the simple fact that they rarely update their software. And in nowadays software and security is critical.

I think this phone is FANTASTIC! but unfortunately nobody will feel the same until Apple makes one.

    • Psychedelic Fox

      June 24, 2023 at 1:29 am

so true lol. a while back i bought a moto phone that was competing with the iPhone 4s. went to a kiosk at the mall to buy it. this guy wanted to sell me the iPhone so bad. kept telling me it was so much better because it was “cooler” and more modern, asked me what was wrong with me and told me i don’t want the phone and should get the iPhone instead. apple fans are ridiculous people. a phone could have the exact same specs, size or just be better and people would still say apple is superior.

  35. Mike Cox

    June 23, 2023 at 11:59 am

No reviewer has commented on the software experience on the device. Does Motorola just run a stock version of Android similar to the Pixel?

    • Ex Nihilo

      June 23, 2023 at 3:57 pm

I’ve used moto phones for years, it’s pretty much stock android with a few very useful additions.

    • Just Plain MƎEN

      June 24, 2023 at 8:36 am

@Ex Nihilo I 2nd this. Only issue with Motorola is they don’t have long term commitment to Android updates, otherwise their phones are great

  39. Piterpater

    June 23, 2023 at 3:14 pm

Dang, if I wasn’t already trading my zflip4 in for a pixel fold I probably would’ve gotten one of these. Normally I get all phones in black but I think I’d actually get the red color for nostalgia lol

  40. Deeactive

    June 24, 2023 at 12:39 pm

My main issue with Samsung is the UI.itsto heavy takes up way to much storage. I like Moto approach. Nearly stock android with useful tweaks. So if I was to buy a flip phone I would lean moto razr. With a year less of updates.

  41. Marky Hae

    June 24, 2023 at 12:41 pm
