Pricing at $500 when there are better alternatives at $450 is a major oversight

      msrp or street price?

Wholeheartedly agreed, but definitely keep in mind that Motorola significantly overpriced their phones in the beginning, only to slash the price in half (or more) months later. I know you could say that about any phone, but I really notice Moto is adamant about it (for example, they use weaker CPUs for a higher profit margin, compare the Moto Power 2020 to the 2022 version which is significantly slower.) So basically with Moto you just have to wait a few months to cut the price in half.

I mean it’s motorola, I am surprised they didn’t follow LG to the grave.

Even I used to think mediatek was utter trash but the 800u on my edge 20 fusion is very stable & cool for a year now.

I wish Motorola would have put out a successor to the Moto X Pure Edition. I loved that phone and would have bought the next version of Motorola would have stuck with it instead of making the Z line…

This Motorola edge looks better than the first edge. I had a very bad experience with the first Motorola edge. I don’t believe this 2022 phone was built to last and survive against falls. I would not recommend this phone.

I currently use the Moto Edge Plus 2022 and I was able to buy it new for $500 recently for a phone that was released for $1,000 in March 2022. I believe the Edge Plus 2022 would be the better phone to get, mainly because it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip processor and it is very fast. Besides the small differences in the screen size and the battery size, the new Edge 2022 and the Edge Plus 2022 looks almost the same. I’d wait on the Edge 2022 for the price to drop. Getting this for $400 or less would make it a better buy.

I’ll just wait til black Friday and pick it up probably

My A52 4G that I got 3 months ago was bought for 271$ after tax and shipping

Still works extremely good, absolutely love how good this phone is for under 300$!!! It even has some perks over the moto like bigger screen, ip 67, features, better screen…

How did you get that for 500? You got 128GB only? Or you got Verizon model? 649 for 512GB on amazon unlocked. But I believe it doesn’t work with Verizon mmWave. But Cband will be rolled out next year and this phone will be compatible with that and mvnos as well. TMobile just works fine.

    • izziereal2010

      August 19, 2022 at 4:14 am

The phone is a US Model unlocked. It may not be compatible with Verizon. I’m not sure, because Verizon is not my carrier.

      @NIKHIL PATIL I bought the phone on W o o t. It’s the 512GB of storage and 8GB of Ram variant.

Nice to see Motorola finally catching up to the rest of the world with 3 years of OS support on their EDGE devices now the rest of their devices need an upgrade from that dismal 1 year OS support.

They lost me at IP52 LOL My A53 5G
(IP67,25WattCharging) @$350 unlocked was the right choice. Going on 3 months I love it.

    • VVViOS

      August 18, 2022 at 4:33 pm

Exactly, the A53 seems superior in basically every way to this new Moto Edge, par for the course for Samsung. But does your A53 ever have performance issues or lag? I’m actually using the A51 in 2022 and it seems perfectly fine, but I know there are so many complaints about Exynos lag. I just turned off transition animation to make everything feel faster.

    • NIKHIL PATIL

      August 19, 2022 at 3:51 am

@VVViOS This phone is far better than A53. Period.

    August 18, 2022 at 7:58 pm

They will lower the price like they did last year when I bought mine. It was $699 down to $499 down to $399. Then another $50 off of that. I paid $349 for the 2021 Moto Edge with all the same features 8 gigs of Ram, 256 Hard Drive, 144 ReFresh Rate, 5G and 6.8inch Screen. 108MP Camera Etc.

    • NIKHIL PATIL

      August 19, 2022 at 3:47 am

But this is better phone altogether with better update policy. Better chipset, better display and fingerprint scanner as well. If you are happy with Moto Edge 2021 then no issues. That at 399USD is one of the crazy deal I have ever seen. I mean at 649USD you are getting Moto Edge 30 Pro 512GB unlocked from Amazon.

  17. Megatron2013

    August 18, 2022 at 8:34 pm

WOW. Moto actually gives more than three years OS updates! They usually give only one OS date and two years of security updates. Big jump. Also wireless recharging! Not even Samsung A53 and Pixel 6a gives that.

    • NIKHIL PATIL

      August 19, 2022 at 3:45 am

It’s crazy deal at 499. People are making too much fuss about pricing. They have upgraded display and in display fingerprint scanner and processor as well. Updates policy seems fine as well. Last year Moto Edge 2021 launched at 699 and now 399. So this is cheaper and more value for money.

    • lderv1

      August 19, 2022 at 8:32 am

This was the last missing piece for Motorola. If they expand this android update policy to (almost) its portfolio Samsung will be in trouble. Btw this phone is a good value phone!

    • NIKHIL PATIL

      August 19, 2022 at 9:13 am

      @lderv1 Yes.

  18. Megatron2013

    August 18, 2022 at 9:06 pm

Moto Edge 2022: MediaTek Dimensity 1050, Android 12, 256gb internal storage, 8gb Ram, 5000mah battery, 30W fast recharging, 15W wireless recharging, 5W reverse recharging, 3 OS updates, 4 years of security patches, 6.6″ FHD+ OLED Display, Stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos sound, NFC, etc. However, it won’t have a micro SD card slot for expandable memory and no headphone jack. I think it is an easy win for Moto. They offer more than the competition, unlike all the previous phones for this price range, including theirs, here in America. This is a big leap for Moto as they’re known to put less hardware tech and keep the price the same. So I’m very excited to see Moto make this big leap. Making a slightly high-end phone for a premium budget price.

I don’t think that my Galaxy s22 ultra can even do some of those Moto camera features, and my s22 ultra cost me $1,600.
