I seem to recall Craig Federighi being adamant that macOS would never merge with the mobile operating systems.

EDIT: I find it amusing that my iMac’s voice transcription initially misspelled Craig’s last name.

Had about five minutes 30 seconds in the presentation you brought up the iPad. I want to thank you for giving me more information about the iPad cause it’s leading me in that direction. I’ve been in a quandary as to whether or not I should buy a laptop or an iPad. Financially, I can forward an iPad better so we’ll see. Thanks.

I admit I was laughing at just as she called out Android users for laughing at her. I honest thought was: Apple users just get this weird sense of amazement of things that already exist on Android 😂😂😂

I wonder if iPad OS26 fixes the split screen issue with iPad or iOS in general. I do have an iPad mini so I get to tryout these features when they do arrive ✌🏾

Put the benefit of circle to search is that it gives you the option of doing the whole screenshot or just a portion of it. It’s weird to try to act like having a more limited version is better. You can do a screenshot on Android 2 via lens or you can just use circle to search for the whole screen.

Nice upgrades and things, but I don’t think all these things are worth the price that Apple is asking for its phones.

I’m so annoyed they haven’t added multitasking on iPhone or clear all in the app switcher 😑 they give us tiny crumbs of what actual users want years apart. That’s why I’m switching to Samsung soon. Apples annoying asf

  68. @perhapsme988

    June 15, 2025 at 7:09 pm

Indeed, lots of features in this update would’ve been labeled as AI by Google, Samsung, MSFT, Facebook, and Apple haters but are not called as AI or Siri by Apple.

Because they are not AI at all.

When Google Pixel phone first had the erasing unwanted objects on pictures, Google did NOT call it AI. They didn’t give it a name at all.

All the sudden AI hype came, Google and Samsung say that it is AI.

    No, it ain’t AI.

It’s just a software element and tweak.

All such software elements could be improved very quickly.

Apple might be late in focusing on AI. But their strategy is basing all these features as non-AI but just another parts of OS or app is correct.

AI is hype that software companies like MSFT, Google, Facebook etc need to fight hard for they are predominantly Software entities. They are the ones that will bleed cashflow without guarantee that they will succeed.

Facebook changed its name to Meta thinking that Meta was going to be the next huge thing. Within a year, they wrote of billions of dollars of its efforts on Meta.

Cash bleeding might just make the difference in AI. Apple is far more cash resourced from its successful hardware offerings than any of other tech giants by huge margins.

Apple doesn’t have to rush into the hype. Steady as it goes and Apple will get there without users being sucked into the often fake AI features claimed by many.

Chatbox likely will see many of them fail from lack of cash due to next to no revenues. Apple could pivot them up for a song bringing best offerings to compliment its internal efforts.

Elon Musks AI is where? Eg?

Yes. You’re right it’s not watching all videos and wasting time on strategies, I was ignorant doing so till I Met expert Mrs. Bruce Christelle sometime early last year at a startup funding event in New York City. She had some interesting things to say about the state of algorithmic trading today, very obviously I’m seeing the results, and my trading is going smoothly.

    • @HillaryIlaya

The whole screenshot, visual intelligence thing is just a bandaid on the false promise that Siri would have on screen awareness. Why do we need to take a screenshot of a message to get that flyer info saved as a calendar event…. When Apple claimed Siri could do this easily with on screen awareness.

The liquid glass gonna cost users battery effcientcy & drain batteries quicker than what apple & you may think, simple suttle animations on smartphones is a bigg bigg battery drainer regardless of the batteries mAh & related compacities, trust & remember this comment because it is a future “i told you so !” , lyk litteraly 😇

  77. @timtampa

    June 17, 2025 at 11:07 pm

So, Apple is finally getting features from 7 years ago?
Samsung and Windows has had these features for a few years. Google Phone app is free and has done call screening for a few years.
Apple is lagging behind, and even their diehard fans are noticing.

  78. @7offman

    June 18, 2025 at 10:53 am

iOS 26 ‘liquid glass’ design isn’t exactly groundbreaking. Nokia tried a similar aesthetic around 2008–2009, Samsung gave it a go around 2012, and even Microsoft used it in Windows Vista and Windows 7. None of them stuck for good reason

  79. @mutlunun

    June 18, 2025 at 5:45 pm

I am an iphone user since 3G and I never felt as much disappointed as for these stupid “themes” trying to be sold us as developments 🙁
