It would be perfect to get a short one installed on your dashboard that shows all the gauges so you’d never have to take your eyes off the road.

I’m not sure why everyone here is so down on this. A lot of people don’t want a giant black slab in their homes. I think this is really cool and can definitely see it taking off once/if the prices go way down.

the footprint appears larger and you still have a large physical object partially see through or not. It’s interesting, but not even remotely practical. And that’s before considering the price tag which is sure to be substantial.

@@DemonEyes23 The footprint is larger but it’s not that huge. As the first consumer product with this tech it seems impressive and I imagine over time it will become thinner and cheaper. This iteration might not be most people’s speed but the potential is evident. It’s just early days.

My fam, (edit: 14yrs ago) then-a civilian working in US military explained this concept and am not surprised that it is here for public consumption already. The radiation form this is very high and dangerous.

I like the roll up black backdrop thing. I think yeah this will most likely not be common usage, but there are specific settings where it could be a nice way to imorove the look or the decor
