I got the c2 last year but the new c2 os is so much better I wish I waited

I bought my LG OLED TV in 2018, and it seems like the biggest thing I’m missing with it is the 120hz refresh rate, and maybe some brightness improvements.

I have the LG GX and the C2 and both are 120hz. I think the G3 is 120hz as well.

1:21 The race is on! The only thing I find disappointing about this review is this discussion of the remote control, knowing and experiencing history, both prior to remotes and after their invention.
The first remote controls had slightly fewer buttons than a Roku remote, because the analog TV tuners were rotary dials.
It was the invention of the digital tuner that enabled users to access channels without having to go through every station to get to the channel they wanted. This rapid access tuning system enabled users to quickly and conveniently get to the programming they wanted without having to go through the 13 VHF and 83 UHF (due to spectrum reallocation, it’s only 69 UHF now) channels to get what they wanted.
Today’s remotes, like today’s education system, seek to dumb down the public and have you once again go through every station to get to what you want, just like the old analog TVs of yesteryear. It was options combined with educated simplicity (numeric keypad) that made them great. Reverting back to arrows to control the TV, even with multiple menus, is a step backwards. Voice activated remotes have potential only so long as you can remember and speak your preference clearly, and then only if you can afford them.

LG has always made beautiful TVs, decent utilities, and terrible mobile phones. (Excluding the flip phones, they did good there). I worked at a reseller for local dealer of LG, Samsung, Sharp, and Vizio. LGs seem to have be returned due to manufacturing faults 4 or 5 times more than the other brands. Looks awesome. Comment if you have one and what your experience was.

I disagree. The LG G4 and V30 were the best phones I had so far, the V30 lasted me 5 yerars! I loved that thing especially for the great soundquality through the headphone jack and the G4 was groundbreaking in terms smartphone camera performance (it was also the last flagshipp with a removable battery). Their phones were also pretty realiable in general in terms of hardware and Software but the mostly were great because they tried different things (and were pretty successful with that in the beginning).
For me it was a sad day when they announced to quit the smartphone business…

The C3 and G3 will be taking TV of the year awards hands down. QD OLED is great but still 1 more year away or so from taking the throne

    • JBlakeS23

      June 17, 2023 at 1:39 pm

@NSD wrong again, the G3 is inferior. I don’t care what name is at the bottom on the screen I chose the best TV and that happens to be the S95C this year. But you keep lookin out for boys leaving their parents house you pedophile.

    • NSD

      June 17, 2023 at 1:42 pm

@tears2040  who’s talking about 2022? I’m talking about 2023 and many of the reviewers have already named the G3 TV of the year with the S95C close behind. I know that makes you really mad to hear but I’m not trying to please you 🤣

    • notsorandumusername

      June 17, 2023 at 2:36 pm

@NSD You are right, in this year 2023 most reputable reviewers have given the G3 and it’s MLA panel the crown. Also it’s bizarre Samsung still refuses to support Dolby Vision, this costs them sales and is a really stupid decision – especially when they _do_ support Dolby Atmos! Another thing is the QD-OLED by Samsung consistently seems to have a warmer picture profile that many will appreciate but can also oversaturate somewhat to the red. And no one seems to making a QD-OLED panel with MLA technology.

    • NSD

      June 17, 2023 at 2:46 pm

@notsorandumusername  exactly. Why go with a TV that is missing important features and also produces and oversaturated image when it comes to reds and also not to mention Samsung does not release updates to correct these issues like LG consistently does. There’s a ton of Samsung fanboys who just can’t accept that LG produced a better TV this year. QD-OLED is great in many ways but it’s not tried, true and tested like OLED has been for years. And that MLA panel is 🔥🔥🔥

      June 18, 2023 at 2:22 pm

QD OLED has another issue that is the burn in is faster compared to other OLED tech. Saw it in the accelerated burn in test conducted by RTINGS and that is definitely scary. I have Sony LEDs and can be biased towards Sony but I saw the LG C2 and it looked legit dope and in this review too I could see the C3 brighter than the A80L (when Sony has hiked up Oled prices here in India). Somehow never liked Samsung’s motion handling, Tizen OS and lack of Dolby Vision support. I wish they can do something for QD OLED’s longevity (just like how WOLEDs have a white subpixel which the QD OLEDs lack).

Also a Sony employed technician himself told me to never go for Sony OLEDs because it doesn’t last 😢 and I was like ok, fear increased pro max.

The image processing on Sony’s XR Cognitive Processor is still far superior. That’s why anyone other than a hard-core gamer will always choose the Sony A80L, regardless of the type of viewer they are.

      June 20, 2023 at 2:34 pm

I’m still very impressed with my B7. Waiting for that 83” QD oled though. I’m sure I will be blown away all over again.

    Hi!

I do not like OLEDs because of the subpixel layout regardless of the other drawbacks. There have been improvements this generation to a better subpixel layout but the “wasted” space inbetween pixels is still too much. Perhaps it is due to exposure to very high quality high dpi IPS displays.

    • Peter Winnell

      June 18, 2023 at 8:03 am

      has 105-108 PPI its fine

    • BI0Z

      June 19, 2023 at 8:08 pm

What are you on about? LG uses the space for white subpixels and everyone else has a standard subpixel layout. If you’re referring to density just get an 8k oled.

The essential thing that everyone should be thinking about right now is investing in non-government sources of income. Especially in light of the current global economic crisis. It is still a wonderful moment to invest in gold, silver, digital money, and stocks.
