I love watching these videos, but to be honest it would be a cold day in HE** before I would spend 1K on a bicycle. Logan does a great job though and it is always a good view. Thanks

Can not reply on bike yet! Ordered in April and still DoNot have them yet. Maybe they need to get better on delivering the bikes that were ordered in April 2021. They get to use my money for over 3 months. Would do more research on delivery

To clarify about the top speed, for class 3 mode it actually can hit 28 mph but only with pedal assistance. All class 3 bikes are technically limited to 20mph throttle only, but some go a little faster like this one.

Lectric is a great for the price. But shipping is a major problem with them. It took 3 months for me NOT to get my bike (the 1st vr) then after many complaints, they offered me the free upgrade and that I would have to wait an additional 4 weeks 😂 I canceled and received a refund.

Ordered a YAMEE XL, received that in 10 days. You should do a review on the Yamee-XL 🙏🏾

And that’s why I don’t buy a cheap ebike= problems and issues from the get go from cheap components. I’d rather spend a little more to get more quality. Great review like always!

I really wish you guys would cover the scam that is the Reevo Hubless E-bike. They have bilked investors out of millions of dollars through their Indiegogo campaign. The story deserves coverage!

Great video. We actually were considering this brand but ended going with friend bikes. I liked the mag wheels which don’t require much maintenance and the bafang motors they use.

I have the first version…great bike. The improvements are in response to their customers feedback. For 100. more than the first bike you get front suspension, an improved front light, wider handlebars, increased water resistance and more.

Excellent review, and more in-depth than I expected. It’s hard to beat the value of $999 for a very competent e-bike. I would have considered one since I was in the market for a folding e-bike, but the three specific reasons were 500 watts on a bike I planned to ride in hilly areas, the latching mechanism, and the key dangling. The motor I could have probably lived with, and the key is just an annoyance, but I have watched XP’s come unlatched while riding in group rides, with one guy almost hitting a light pole.

Excellent review, I own the 1.0 model, loving it since it’s highly customizable, and easily user maintainable if you’re familiar with servicing your own bicycle. That suspension fork on the 2.0 is super excellent, I need that.

The idea of a starter bike is troubling. It shows the reality that ebikes are very much a marketing exercise. But the notion that people would learn what they want, or what they need, to later get a ‘real’ ebike is awkward. I build my ebikes. (Pretty manly, eh?) To me, an ebike is a motor and a battery. The other part is a bike, like any other bike. So I buy a $400 online bike and I can buy or build a battery for $100, and then I buy a $500 BBS02 from Bafang. It is known and available and a mid-drive. Same price as this Lectric. I have this onliine, BBS02 ebike. I see no real upgrade path. I can ride it forever, I guess.

You can go from the Lectric to a bike with smooth welds (very hot right now) and sleek styling, but what the heck does that change? Oh, $800 more. You can go mid-drive and torque sensor, but that really gets pricey. Get a real off ride bike? Really, off road? Sort of. Get a Euro bike that is so refined the manual is in Latin.

The XP is not a bad design, but it is ludicrously heavy and awkward. Still, it can be upgraded and almost any part can be replaced. There are not that many parts on a bike. You take some cheap shots. I don’t own the bike. I like that they have the step through. I like that they are (finally) acknowledging that Class 3 has to be labeled, although they are still gaming the regs a bit. It might last 10 years with some care. Why are we upgrading?

The problem is that you are out of your depth. How many watt hours does it take to go at 15mph versus 28mph (which it can’t do, anyway).? How long would the battery even last at 28mph? How hard is it to change the rear tire? It’s been a real controversy.

Great unbiased review, a lot of other XP “reviews” have this agenda of minimizing its shortcomings and only concentrate on its price.

For folding ebikes, a small bunjee cord works well to hold the tires together when folded.

A POOR REVIEWER NOT UP TO CNET STANDARDS. I have the version one.. trouble free. What is missing is the bike’s weight capacity..a whopping 330 pounds. Far more than most other bikes in this price range. It’s a darn sturdy bike. In fact I challenge this reviewer to find ONE bike at under a thousand with that capacity. Just one. Lectric bikes are built like tanks! You get fenders, a rack, and lights.. items most other manufactures charge extra. When you do have a problem..you phone them and.. get a person! A great ebike… far better than reflected in this video.

I purchase the Lectric 2.0 mainly because the company responds to emails and phone calls. The other companies I looked at and I was willing to spend up to $1599 for similar ebikes, do not seem to have a USA home base. Lectric is in Phoenix, AZ and have real people that answer emails and phone calls. The bike is reasonably priced and all the information I have seen so far indicates that they respond to the average consumer in the same manner that they responded to your issue with the Display, they give information or send parts to resolve any problems that occur with your bike during the warranty period.

Honest review and fairly accurate. Got one for my wife and myself. Great bike!
Lectric is a bargain for the price, especially with free shipping. Bought a new Schwinn Sports Tourer in 1974 and I still ride it. It cost $199. In today’s money, that’s $1060!

Cheap but it gets expensive when you upgrade to what you need! The motor and battery are weak! Suspension seat post has a low max weight. Brakes should be Hydraulic! By the time you spend on all the upgrades and extras you’ll be right up there past the two grand range! Just pay the extra for something that has all this in the original package!

    • Pmike404

      July 20, 2021 at 9:01 pm

Ya this bike seems kinda disappointing thing overall. It almost feels like the price is just because it’s a foldable bike.

It’s disappointing as well that it doesn’t hit the upper limit of 28mph and the lower actual use range is a bummer as well. I’m debating getting an e-bike when I can start taking the train again to work (due to scheduling)

I used to own two cars but ended up selling one as I had to work early morning and night shifts when the trains weren’t running.

An e-bike would be perfect for what I need. But I really could use the higher speeds for the streets I’d ride it on.

I have a first gen step thru (white).
I think that LETRIC missed a golden opportunity to make the riding experience even better by including an 11-28/34 freewheel. It’s a cheap upgrade that would’ve made a world of a difference.
