Kohler put Alexa in a showerhead and I actually kinda like it

The Kohler Moxie Showerhead combines a battery-powered smart speaker with Amazon’s voice assistant built in and an otherwise ordinary showerhead. It’s a strange combination that mostly won me over. You can buy Kohler Moxie Showerhead here: *CNET may get a commission from this offer.

Do this cheap, get an Echo Flex for $15 and you have music in your bathroom. Sure its not “in the shower” like this. But for the $200 price difference, Ill stick with my Flex plugged into the wall. Sure the sound is what it is, but its the bathroom, not a concert hall

So if the speaker is comparable to a $50 speaker….there’s a $210 premium for a just meh shower head? I just use another bluetooth speaker with water resistance to use when I shower

    February 4, 2021 at 5:11 pm

Ehhh no 👎🏻. I rather take my water proof speaker in the shower and listen to some Spotify or iCloud there. And yes it has voice command.

You like singing in the toilets ? What about a toilet seat that sings back ?

For that money I’d expect full voice shower control like temperature, intensity and on/off….then the speaker functionality…took their eyes off the prize and got an expensive audio partner to eat up R&D instead.

For that price you can play music yourself and get someone to rub your back and more, multiple times depending on your country’s poverty levels

waterproof speakers can be had for $20-30. Then you can use your own showerhead of any kind

So what you are saying is that I can just use an existing speaker and save $260.

There’s affordable Waterproof bluetooth speakers with built-in Alexa that can be used in the shower all it takes is a quick Amazon search.

I have the Bluetooth version from Costco, waiting for this Alexa version to come out…since you can return anything to Costco. I love it. Can’t wait for this one to arrive. Super annoying that Kohler didn’t hit me up to tell me this was released! I’m on their list to be notified, AND I’ve been talking to them on Facebook.

Useless, absolutely useless. Instead, place a real speker outside of the shower. And pick a spekar size that can actually move some air. Or just use you smartphone, connected to a standard 20-30 Dollar USB speaker (outside of the shower)

    February 4, 2021 at 10:05 pm

That’s cool. Like as a gift that no one should pay… Even if it cost $130 and I found those $130 in the street, it’s still not worthy xD I rather continue using my cellphone at the bathroom tray, does the same and it’s free

I wonder how much calcium builds up on that thing making it useless in a few months. I can’t imagine how you’d clean it. I usually soak my shower heads in vinegar.

No. This should have a small hydro generator. It could recycle water around the ring during the day to charge the speaker, or a power bank. Then divert and charge with following water.

  53. Justin D.

Personally I think it’s not worth the price as opposed to getting an echo in your bathroom plus a shower head with more features like a waterfall setting. I think putting a motion sensor in this product to activate an alexa routine could’ve easily given this a bigger wow factor. For example when motion is detected in the shower at 7am-8am it could read you your calendar and give you traffic info without even you speaking to it. I think what makes a smart home great is just doing your daily activities and your home works for you in the background.

    February 6, 2021 at 10:17 am

But the question of questions…….if this would be 25 bucks at youre local store would everybody buy this, instead of a mini or Alexa with a wall mount because they would probably sale a lot of these then, is this the future? And do we not see the future in this product? Are we the problem or are they?is our bathroom not future proof, or are we to old-school, we want a mind controller headphone, and air powering, but if this would air charge would this be the standard….🤔…but it don’t, and why a dock? Luxury but to keep a dock for something that you charge only every? Why i don’t have 40 hour playback? Why from al product this time not a USB c and a rubber? Warranty…..Maybe its just a product for those who want it, maybe if it was white it would be from the future, maybe thats it….just the color or maybe it don’t make sense, why delete water to youre head for a speaker…….its is like the lamp speaker, but it destroys the lamp light and the speaker sound!Maybe we need to rethink this one, I’ll go showering hanging my mini at the towel to see if it makes me 😊
