All this new-age fandom. Nobody is ending anyone. Yall get all worked up over nothing. Nas killed Jay-Z with Illmatic, and Jay-Z’s response track was underwhelming except to hardcore Jay-Z fans. It’s the exact thing that happened here. Family Matters was a better distrack, but Not Like Us was far more popular with Kendrick’s faithful, and here we are. Just like Jay-Z, he was pronounced winner over Nas, who we all know won, Kendrick is getting the same treatment.
The most significant difference is that yall new-age fans are followers and don’t know how to keep supporting what you individually like. It’s all about who and what is hot right now. Drake has a lot of fans, so he’ll be fine. In 5 years, nobody will talk about it, like with Jay-Z and Nas.
