I have a GMMK Pro and I spent so much time trying to mod it. The major problems are the stock screw in stabs and sooo many screws that lose thread easily. Change stock stabs to durock screw in stabs, change to polycarbonate plate and it will make a helluva difference. The Akko Mod007 was far easier to mod. That being said this board has a distinct sound signature. Akko Jelly Blacks sound awesome on this board. I’ve had it for a year and its still running with no issues despite the fact that I’ve taken it apart more than half a dozen times.

It’s a great entry level keyboard if you’re looking to get your foot in the door of the custom side of the MK world, strongly recommend ‘Taeha Types’ review if this one leaves you undecided.

Is there a full size version? I love and use my number pad daily so I’d never buy a compact keyboard.

You should go with the q5 if you want a full layout with awesome sound. it is a lot cheaper, a lot better overall. I would also not recommend getting the gmmk pro. it is so bad for the price and you shouldn’t buy it.

GMMK isn’t great anymore, kind of sucks now, I’d recommend the keychron q1, cheaper and better

Does it do anything beyond allowing you to use your favorite colors on the key caps and shine the lights out of the sides? Did I miss something?

I think it’s a no, if you are an enthusiast that is. There are many other options which are so much better than it nowadays. For example you can get the all new qk65 for just 165$ and it sounds 1000% better, same goes for the q1(same layout, south facing, better sound, etc…), also the stabs on the gmmk pro are not worth mentioning at all, they are so bad (from what I’ve heard). There also is the all new tiger80 lite. It sounds good, feels good, and has all the needed keys if you really need to access the f row easily. It also comes with a custom print job on it’s own “tape mod” which you could put any image on it, all for a total of 120$. There is no way that I would recommend a gmmk pro to anyone especially since there are so many better keyboards for cheaper on within the same price range.

The PE foam mod completely changed this board for me. Typing sound went from ‘meh’ to very good imho.

What’s the real cost? I saw $170. Then I saw a bunch of other additional costs float by. I’m pretty happy with an off the shelf $100 keyboard. This is more than 70% more money before the extras. And, what does it cost WITH these essential extras?
