But what is the problem? You want to become First Lady and take adventages and responsibilities or not and thats all… What I see from that speach you want to have all adventages and opportunities but zero responsibilities….

@Annie T.it is actually implied. I don’t know how the First Lady works in her country but the First Lady of the United States doesn’t really have power. Her main duties are as a hostess of the White House. Like in charge of dinner parties and food. Which is already very limited. Having even less duties than that means she does absolutely nothing at all.

She forgets to mention that Boric government has been one of the most corrupt in the country’s history. Even direct friends of Irina have been involved in corruption acts, in which millions of dollars have been stolen. This government is also guilty of allowing illegal immigration and multiple cases of nepotism, even naming direct friends of Irina and Boric in important roles with huge salary although they don’t meet the minimum requirements. She even mentioned here that she improved salaries of his friends in the these foundation. They even hired more than 60.000 new governmental employees so far for policial reasons. Great example how socialism can destroy a former prosperous country.

Surprised by the fluency of Irina. She was able to speak her mind very clearly and concisely. As part of the young generations I appreciate her take on this issue, which actually WAS an issue, for those doubting it. Makes no sense, like she said, to give power to someone who was not elected. When she mentioned towards the end that First Ladies are seen as an asset, she comes from the fact that President Boric was criticised for not being married, which is dumb. Anyways! Hope this change is for the better and future ministers do their job too.

I can’t wait to climb the ladder on my partners back, it does not matter if they did the heavy lifting, I may not be elected or even worthy of being in the position, but the power calls to me, as it’s all about me, you see?

I don’t fully agree with her on her view on ‘needing’ to get more women in power, but I do respect her belief that authority should go to the one elected. Nevertheless, I do believe that having a few responsibility’s as the fist lady is not inherently a bad thing.

❤Let’s not forget that love is where it’s at! It’s the lane between centuries of religious and political institutions actively diminishing half of the population on the planet (many will say the better half), and the pendulum swinging to the other extreme where all men, that don’t behave like women, are simply considered toxic (rather than toxic behavior being toxic, regardless of gender). It’s the very same approach, which brought this imbalance to our world, now simply flipped on its head (and often hides behind the feminist flag, which is why they boo you). I for one appreciate Irina’s thoughtful approach to how tradition can be modernized back into reality, where women and men are considered two sides of the same coin – dependent on each other for love, warmth, and family. Yes, let’s not forget that each gender is dependent on the other. Each gender, after all, comes into this world from the very same place. But somehow we forget this. Therefore, it must be love that heals these wounds, as women adopt their rightful place in society – next to her man, and her man next to her, in mutual respect, honor, and love. ❤❤ Great talk! Great agenda! Best of luck!

Maybe instead of just rethinking the position of First Lady, we need to stop thinking that First Lady is really a position that anybody earned and can do anything with. It’s so stupid how First Lady is taken so seriously just because they’re married to someone who won a political position.

We’re very proud of having a leader as Atatürk, and he had made a very good choice about his first lady too. Although their marriage wasn’t a long term one, Latife hanım was a very good role model for Turkish women of our newborn republic. Well-educated, well -informed, even supported the public speeches of her husband, and listened to them before it was performed and even gave some ideas . In fact they could sometimes brainstorm about state issues to improve our country together. We’re very proud of having womeen rights (as voting and election) before many countries in Europe

And “goodness” is acquired through learning and hard work. It can be seen that Xunzi is an empiricist and views the evil of human nature from the perspective of consequentialism. Eastern perspective
    Xunzi’s point of view
Xunzi’s view that human nature is evil is the earliest theory of human nature that appeared in the history of Chinese thought. [1] His views mainly appear in his “Sexual Evil Chapter” and “Rectification of Names”. But if we want to fully understand Xunzi’s theory of evil nature, we must also refer to important chapters such as “Jieye Pian” and “Kingzhi Pian”.
The Implication of Xunzi’s Theory of Evil Nature
Xunzi’s definition of good and evil is defined by consequences (governance or chaos), rather than by human motivations. [2] That is to say, his theory of evil nature is consequentialism, and whether the nature is evil or good is determined by the observed results of actual experience.
Xunzi’s “Xing” and “Evil” in Xunzi’s Theory of Human Nature and Evil, Xing is a natural nature that can be obtained without learning or hard work. [3] You can do it if you can learn and devote yourself to it. [4] Pseudo has two meanings: one is the function aspect, that is, artificiality; the other is the result aspect, which is the personality developed by artificiality. [5]
Chapter on Evil Nature: “Human nature is evil, and the good ones are hypocritical. Human nature is born to love benefits and follow the way, so it fights for life and refuses to give up and perish; it is born to have diseases and evils, so it is the way to go. A crippled thief is born with loyalty and trust gone; he is born with the desire of ears and eyes, a good voice, and obedience. Therefore, he is born with promiscuity and loses etiquette, justice, culture, and science. However, following human nature and obeying others’ feelings must be based on competition and harmony. If someone violates the rules of division and ends up in violence, he must be transformed into a teacher, a way of etiquette and righteousness, and then out of resignation, in line with literature and principles, and then return to governance. Looking at it from this perspective, it is clear that human nature is evil. That’s right. What’s good is fake.”
What he said is human nature or innate nature in a factual sense, and refers to human animality. For example, he believed that human nature is born to care about one’s own interests. According to this human nature, the only virtue is to compete and give in. Being able to perish does not refer to human essence. His theory of evil nature means that when people only obey their own nature, it will lead to bad results, and “goodness” is acquired through learning and hard work. It can be seen that Xunzi is an empiricist and views the evil of human nature from the perspective of consequentialism.

For the record, Chile has the one of the most expensive politics and the country is not what you can say a developed country. Besides, there is a insane joke about corruption that is still under the storm eye (foundations) here in our country, all pretty well knowed by these people.

Curious is the figure of the “partner” that she believes generates a bond that must be respected by an entire society, even at an international level, allowing her to give a TED lecture to possibly feminist groups, as an- implicitly – recognized authority. If the speaker has studies in sociology and anthropology or in cultural and civilizational issues or political genesis, she should understand that the figure of the “partner” or sentimental companion is too weak, precarious and temporary in human societies structured, in part, as historical evolution of the family, in the so-called “theory of society”. Her true power emanates precisely from denying that she has power, assigning herself a leading role and doing so publicly – with a lot of publicity – eliminating “per se” the obsolete position of “First Lady”, for being the result of a (bourgeois?) formality exempt from real content and thereby appear as a democrat and advanced feminist in front of an unconditional audience made up of women eager to temporize in front of a “macho and patriarchal” society.

Criticizing everything she herself did: using the role of a guy (who was never her partner) to achieve notoriety with a position where no one elected her, and using that power to promote policies that no one asked of her.

Last year, Irina karamaonos and her government created a cabinet named “irina karamanos,” but it was dissolved under social pressure JAJJAS One must be quite shameless to believe that she genuinely wanted to leave the position

She did nothing on whatever role she performed being at Boric’s side, and she was totally powerless.. actually, the real Boric’s partner is Giorgio Jackson(common gossip in Chile) …she was just a facade!! She is just such a scam!!

I think the more feminist thing to do is to personally choose not to excercise that power if you are offended by expectations and traditions, rather than closing that possibility for first ladies to be. Very -paternalistic- of you to to decie for those women. But hey, post modern logic is always an ad-hoc thing so no surprise there.

I can’t take this type of talk seriously, it is closer to a comedy or stand up show and as a comedy it doesn’t make me laugh, not even with she tries to make a joke by asking the audience if they ever thought about being first lady?. . Her boyfrinds government would be remembered as one of the worst, and she would be part of this sad story.
