TLDW: 147,131 folds by the end of this live and screen and hinge still fine.

      Lab test… not real world.

Not sure the machine is slamming it hard enough.

The real answer is: between 20 and 147,131. 😂

Honestly, if a foldable phone is tested at such a gentle pace, I believe any device on the market would remain perfectly fine. It makes me wonder why the testing for the 1st generation Samsung foldable was so brutally harsh. While we have seen plenty of tests replicating normal daily usage, I would like to see a test conducted under the exact same parameters as the one from seven years ago. CNET went into lengthy explanations regarding the iPhone Duo folding video, but they folded it incredibly gently rather than aggressively slamming it shut like a round of applause—which was the case for the 1st gen Samsung Fold. This really raises questions about the fairness and objectivity of this experiment.

So really, you’ll buy an iPhone Duo and you’ll slam it shut all the time? This test reproduces normal usage.

You should talk to Euro NCAP next and request that they crash their cars at 200km/h.

@puhajune they are testing the Samsung z fold 8 too though? So your comment doesn’t make sense

Why are you crying about a test from 7 years ago bro. Are you mad your first foldable broke? Cry. Stg Koreans are babies and hold grudges longer than anyone.

To people in the comments saying to slam it harder: You’re introducing another variable into the test. This speed reduces heat buildup on the hinge. When it breaks, we will have a high confidence it was because of the amount of folds. You could do a slam test, but the you’re not testing just the screen anymore and it’s hard to pinpoint to the source of failure

@J0S3PH_56 because this chanel already slam it harder when they test galaxy fold.

      October 30, 2026 at 8:55 pm

Plus, snap open is the actual test to the hinge, not close

If you buy an iPhone, you’re getting scammed. That’s all I have to say and I’m out. Take care! 😊

      October 30, 2026 at 7:07 pm

Not necessarily. Many users find them to be worthwhile. Just because you don’t share their views of the ecosystem doesn’t mean they’re being scammed. Especially because Scam has legal definitions which buying an iPhone does not meet. Glad I could clear that up

Now tell them stop lying the duo has been tested and is one of the best iPhones enjoi! 📲📱👩‍💻

  11. @TrebleTS20

    October 30, 2026 at 8:10 pm

That won’t yield realistic results as folding it consistently over the spine of time will generate heat, and the heat will shorten the lifetime in real life. Nobody’s gonna fold their phone consecutively that amount of times generating all that heat.
