I have the S22 Ultra in “red”. It is not red. It’s like a soft coral color, very feminine. Pretty annoyed with it and already trading it in for that and many other reasons. Goodbye

Ya know, looking closer at IEC standard 60529 IP code, 8 doesn’t have a standard rating of depth but rather defines it as able to be continiously submerged. Older Samsung devices claimed a deeper depth but I feel they might be playing it safe saying 1.5m but if Apple is claiming 6m (not 6ft) then that’s pretty ballsy. Nice move Apple, as that’s pretty fuckin deep really.

Apple SoC is 2 gens ahead of anything Snapdragon offers. Actually, might be 3 gens now with the 4nm process. I used to be a die hard Android guy but can’t go back after using a 12 Pro Max. Will def get the 14 Pro Max this time around.

Who plays games on their phones? Just use your iPad or gaming computer why would you use your one one to do that?

    • J.

      September 10, 2022 at 12:57 am

Gen 8 and gen 8+ are 4mm. Technically they aren’t ahead, rather the software optimization to suit the chip specifically rather than simply adapting a chip to work with a given OS is what give you the benchmarks. Either way, both are really negligible at this point in all tasks if you actually watch comparison benchmark testing in real-world applications where it’s moot.

    • J.

No shocker they refuse to mention Geekbench results for the S22 Ultra. It’s intentional because the S22 performance is that of an iPhone 11 from 2019

  21. Матт Реякіпѕ

    September 10, 2022 at 1:21 am

Battery benchmarks showed the iPhone 13 Pro Max got 3 more hours of battery life than the S21. Of course CNET wouldn’t mention that. This means worse case scenario the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have 3 hours more battery than the S22 Ultra

  22. Francis

    September 10, 2022 at 1:23 am

NO QUESTIONS WHATSOEVER: Face ID has always been SUPERIOR to Fingerprint/even Apple’s very own Touch ID.

And since Apple was now able to reduce their ageing notch to a pill shape cutout and with added functionality I am very much compelled to get the 14 Pro Max for myself. Been with Android exclusively for a couple of years already and my last iPhone was the 11 Pro Max which honestly one of my shortest lived phones and since then I have been with Android exclusively particularly Samsung. To be fair one thing I totally dislike about Samsung Galaxy flagships, esp those that I have used extensively is the poor inplementation of the Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor which they only managed to remedy starting on the S21 Ultra. But in terms of BIOMETRICS Face ID has always been superior to any kind of Fingerprint Sensor even Apple’s own Touch ID from way back then. Based on my usage of it Ultrasonic Fingerprint works ok but not as perfect as Samsung implies it to be. Also they could have taken a thing or two from their S10+ where they could have placed that pill shape cutout on the top centre of the screen and retained the Iris Scanner as a fallback to the poor performing Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor despite of numerous software update and screen replacement on my end done by Samsung.
If there’s one thing I dread to think that may also happen is the thought of Apple releasing an eSIM only iPhone here in Southeast Asia particularly here in the Philippines where despite of carrier networks offering eSIM they are still not that ready to fully convert us to eSIM. And the inconvenience of it is when you travel outside your home country a lot like me. On phones with physical nano SIM slot you can easily take the SIM off then get a SIM on the country of your destination. Also since majority of the time temporary SIM removal is part of most mobile networks’ basic troubleshooting then it’s now impossible to switch SIM cards from one carrier to another. I just hope Apple releases an unlocked variant with a nano SIM tray but other than that I think 14/Plus & especially tge 14Pro/Max are a really great change to the usual iPhone with notch.

  23. Матт Реякіпѕ

    September 10, 2022 at 1:26 am

The reason Apple can’t do a hole punch is because 3D facial recognition needs more hardware than Samsung’s 2D version. It’s also worth noting how much cheaper Samsung’s fingerprint scanner is than iPhone’s Face ID. It’s actually cheaper to offer both a 2D face registration and under screen fingerprint scammer than 3D facial recognition.

IPhone is like a Bugatti with small Toyota/Jeep strength added features. Honestly for a regular user person who likes perfection Samsung takes the lead. But if you are someone who likes class and public/Social media glamour then IPhone is for you. {When will a regular person ever require satellite use ?!)

  25. Матт Реякіпѕ

    September 10, 2022 at 1:28 am

Another thing that wasn’t surprising is CNET didn’t mention the max brightness of the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the S22 ultra and the reason is, is because the iPhone 14 Pro Max has the highest brightness of any mainstream smartphone. Can’t make Samsung look bad that’s the CNET rules

I pre ordered the s22 ultra and in total with all the perks it came out to around $600. I went from an iphone 11 to this phone and it’s amazing. Honestly you can’t go wrong with either but if you have the iphone 12 or 13 even the pro models of those then their isn’t a big need to upgrade imo.

Why does Apple makes that the Always on Display function is the Innovation of 2022 and having Oled screen as they invented. Always on Display i had that since the Samsung S7 that was in 2017. Whats next they finally put the USB-C charging port and make it as the best inovation of the decade while every phone brand, even their own Apple products has it 😂

There is no right or wrong here. Both phones are really advanced for its intended purposes. Apple chip performance has a reputation of being the fastest. Their engineering is just next level despite their products “seemingly” trail Samsung. Just two different companies with different approaches to creating the most powerful phone they can get away with.

But in the end, I chose the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Oh baby, so streamlined. And I’m very surprised the battery is so long lasting despite what it can put out. Amazing.

Both are flagship phones that will satisfy each individual needs according to your personal use. However the only thing that bothers me is the fan base who try to make fun of “green texts” when Apple is the only one who’s trapped their costumers in their own little ecosystem with that crap.

I am just appalled at how apple gets away with their terrible design decisions, especially when they would lead with removing the headphone jack, charger in the box and won’t remove the hideous notch on their phone! that thing is a design flaw. try reading a PDF ebook on a full screen. it totally gets in the way! but honestly when I think of iphone, all I think of is the iOS ui. and that’s what is really different from other phones! and that’s where the iphone is getting an edge. imagine iphone runs on android 😂😂! it certainly won’t be competing with an s22 ultra
